Approximate date when steam workshop was added?

When can I wait for an update related to the addition of the steam workshop, I'm already looking forward to trying it out, I really hope that soon. Do you have any approximate dates?

The last I knew, it was planned for distant releases. I've not heard much about 4.0 and have no reason to believe it will be in 4.0.

I've been looking forward to this feature for years as I hope it will ease common modlet installation issues and allow for easy resolution of modlet dependencies. Another person on these boards mentioned they thought they read the feature had been cancelled in favor of some other solution, but I've not been able to confirm that.

I'd love an update on this topic too, if folks in the know see this topic and have news.

I think they changed gears on Workshop. I think fubar or someone mentioned during one of their dev streams that mod.io was a potential option as they were now considering making mods available to console. So not sure if Workshop specifically is still gonna happen or not.

Yeah, they said they were looking into mod.io instead as it allows mods for more than just steam. They mentioned that once and I haven't seen anything else since.

I don´t see why you can´t have steam workshop for PC and mod.io for consoles. It was promised on steam, so keep that promise. I really don´t need another site where i need an account. Eff that.

I haven't used either, but I'd assume there's at least some work required for integrating and maintaining each. If one solves "the problem" for both, that's obviously the more tempting solution...

That said, I ain't registering to a site to mod this game, either; so the effort on mod.io will be 100% wasted for me... :P
That's where it becomes "the wrong problem to solve" for me.

If it will allow mods for consoles, I can see an appeal to mod.io instead of Steam. I've never packaged a mod for the Steam Workshop or mod.io, so it will be a learning experience either way. I suppose my preference would be to package for one system, but ultimately it would depend on how complex and time consuming the packaging and deployment effort would be.
