PC Any possibility of Infinite maps coming back?

My group and I are having trouble with the 4 and 8k maps, they're just way too small. Used to we could go on epic journies on the road, discovering town after town. Now after a couple of towns we hit the map wall, or if we're already on the side of the map we hit the wall after just the first one.

Other than falling through the map, we never really had any problems with the infinite maps of a16. Is there any way those are coming back in the short term, or any possible way to mod them back in?

The new ones a pregenerated.

In A16 you could prerender a Servermap too, my I74790k needed 35 Hours for that

what size was that map ? like 50k ? i think it would be worth it to take 35 hours to generate a 50k map for mp i wouldnt even care if it would take 48 hours
