Restarted recently with alpha 18, im always tagged for experimental buids in Steam so its whatever recent build of that branch is atm
I saw a chicken and rabbit, I know about the boring bores and the dearest deers.. I sat here thinking:
If I was in a world like this, I would capture all the rabbits that I can, try and sex them, keep all the females and cook up the males except for 1 lucky dude to get the others preggers lol.
Building a cage would be easy and I seen a POI which had like a wall of cages and some hatches under the cages (forgot its name sorry) the player would probably build something like this or give us rabbit pen schematics each pen can hold two, yet if you stick them together in a row, any rabbits inside can run from one end to another. After x time we get n number of rabbits, after more x time the rabbits can be sexed, after some more x time we can skin/cook males keeping one male. Rabbits would also have a life span (endurance bar lol).
I would be a pain in the butt and say that all the pen types need to be above ground lvl / animals need access to sun x hours per day at least / open the pen into an outside area where they are inclosed in fences (some automatic method to get the animals in their pens). Zombies are highly attracted to these areas (heat would drastically increase for that area)
We could do the same for chickens, the pen would be different, a chicken hut, could be the size of an army tent where the player can walk in harvest eggs, or allow the male to do his thing. The 3 stage timer like the rabbits hatch/sexed/cooked or kept.
Boars, the idea is the same, pen size and layout would differe as well as deer however, I guess they may need a larger outside area to graze and all that??
I see it very dumb that our character does not know how to throw a pair of rabbits together in a cage and with some patience, see if they mate or not.....
The skill could be a new one or mixed into living off the land?
