PC And now for something completely different..

by level 25 I lose interest in playing for the most part, by then I have tier 5 tools (int+the goggles), some mods, a minibike etc, and usually have a farm going and such, so I virtually have no real challenge survival wise.
There is challenge, you should try to keep going. Handling the new AI at high gamestages (without exploiting it) is actually a challenge (with default block damage ofc).

This is A16 syndrome all over again. Players quitting early because they are maxxed out and have "won" the map, not realising they are miles from endgame as far as enemy strength goes. I sympathize and understand though, it's a balance issue. GS does not rise fast enough in either A16 or A17.

Got to admit I used to prefer the thrill of the start of A16 over A17, you just feel like such an over weight couch potato at the start now, who gets out of breath after 3 steps. Saying that we tweaked the starting missions to give a few extra perk points and that helps speed over that starting bump. And starting an new game is still better than the 'meh' factor when you have everything, seen everything at lvl 200.

BUT overall the best thrill part of the game for me is in mid to later game, looting large twisty buildings with enclosed spaces with a couple of friends. You can't really run away, so you have to work as a team to stay alive, and its all a bit frantic and panic'd.

I'm thinking about how to expand this and to create prefabs/a whole map based on an contained arcology city, no more wide open spaces, just tight spaces filled with new zombie friends.

With so many radio stations, it makes ya wonder why one of the "Trader" type npcs haven't set up their own Pirate Radio station..
There's no room in the frequency spectrum. Too much interference from all those radio towers!

I am a builder AND I like the first week or two.....I am strange I admit.

I like to tinker with designs a lot, so starting over is no big deal. I am also new to A17 and think progression is right on par with most games today. ATTRIB/PERK system is easy to get into and understand, hard to plan and master. Half the time I start a new game I have a plan for where ill be putting points, and then in the heat of a moment I am like screw it I need this other thing more. it allows for a lot of diversity in builds. Learn By Doing is "ok" but nothing wrong with this system either IMO, and as a new player as of A17.

I agree, Early game is still my fave but by level 25 I lose interest in playing for the most part, by then I have tier 5 tools (int+the goggles), some mods, a minibike etc, and usually have a farm going and such, so I virtually have no real challenge survival wise. The lack of rng that a16 had hurt the game a ton in my eyes. Every game I start is generally the same things now in the same order, as its optimal. Where as in a16 it varied a large amount based on what books I have found.
I also dislike how nerfed to hell the auger is, it eats far to much gas for how low its block damage is, yes I know mods yatta yatta, I feel they need to make its gas use work like the vechicles do, because it goes thru gas way faster than the motorcycle does in turbo mod.
Don't know about 17.1 but in 17.2 the gas usage is higher but I get around 70 barrels worth of shale in a single pocket. The Auger is very fast at mining that pocket out so fuel is never a concern for anything anymore.
