The option to modify or disable the ambient sound volume in game seems to be ignored. No matter the setting, it seems that the volume is full, even at 0%.
It appears that even though I had already set it in a prior game to 0%, it didn't take effect in a new game until went into the options (slider already set to 0%) and clicked Apply - it seems now that the ambient sounds are gone.

- Reproduction Steps
- - Set Ambient Sound Volume to 0% in a previous game
- Create and enter a new game.
- Go into options, and you can see Ambient Sound Volume is set to 0%.
- Be in the game, especially at night
- The same ambient noises you hear at 100% can be heard: crickets, moaning, other creepy noises.
- Go into audio settings again and click "Apply".
- Ambient sounds seem to be gone now.
