PC "Amazing" (@%$*#!y) rewards for T5 quests.

I can see your frustration.

But honestly I don't think the reward is the problem. There are not enough T5 locations. So you have to run the same POIs over and over again. Also they are so large, that you have to invest a lot of time. And more than often, if you have to clear it, you can not complete the quest because of one or two zombies hiding around.

That is the reason I chose this time not to advance to t5 quests. T4 give you the same amount of loot for much less time investment. And the reward is a nice to have. Since you can find T6 items once your gamestage is high enough. So why hassle with that grind. 🙂
Makes sense. I am very bored of hospitals, apartament bricks, factory, Higashi, Crack-a-book and Dishong.

I highly suggest using Nitrogen. Here is a 4k mega city map I generated with it:

I always use nitrogen.

I have completed around 30 T5 quests, hospitals, Higashi, Dishong Tower, Crack-a-Book building, Brick Apartments...

And almost all times I got just junk, 40 explosive arrows/bolts? 5 First Aid Bandages? Nail Gun? Usually I use 300-500 7.62 ammo, some grenades and medicine to clean up a entire building and all I got is this. Ok I count the loot from these building iteself as part of the reward, but it is not usefull to me if I just got something I already have, or I dont even use.

I have some print screens for you, I will bring more by the time.

In my opinion some itens never should be reawrded for T5 quests:

- First Aid Bandage
- 7 Frag Rocke (10 should be fine)
- 90 AP ammo (150 should be fine)
- 40 explosives arrows/bolts (75 should be fine)
- Nail Gun (for T4 it is ok, but not ok for T5)
- Schematics or Books (Unless the game should give you something you dont have)
- Quality 4 stuff (Only quality 5 should be fine)

These rewards almost make me miss the 13 paper...

yeah, i stopped doing the T5 quests unless i want to reset the building for stuff. They are good if you want to reset the entire building to scrap it down again. That is the only value in the t5 quests at the moment.

I am doing just as you for now. The quest rewards is no more worthy.
Yeah, the thing is most of the good loot is in the loot room. This is where lucky looter, the loot goggles, and the candy shine. I get all my tier 6 loot that way.  The big issue for me now is i do not have enough engines for my generators for the blade traps. Or enough oil for the blade traps, so i scrap cars, tons of them. Hence why resetting the big pois is important.

For that problem I just mine. 1000 Ooil Shale = 10000 Gas. But it is ok scraping cars.

Another problem about missions: once you unlock missions level 5, missions of low level become less optional. For example, the trader near me have now 4 missions level 5 and just one level 3. And sometimes I want do low level missions for stuff like ammo, books, recipes or just because I dont have enough ammo to do a level 5 mission.

It's not the gas i am after, it's mechanical parts and oil. I need another chem station, i have like 200 minutes worth of gunpowder cooking in my current one, and i only run it when i am at home. that would speed up my oil production. Granted, once you run a bulk amount, you never have to run it again.  but i also need engines for generators. I have a hamburger bunker surrounded by blade traps. as a horde base. Most of horde night is just siting comfy passively gathering xp from the meat grinding. occasionally i need to shoot something. My next horde base design will be a similar bunker in the middle, but with a ceiling AND floor blade traps.

I see, can you show your base to me and creat new topic at proper forum section? Do it please (and quote me).

It's this one.

Instead of the iron spike traps, it's a field of steel with blade traps above it. The caveat is that under the field of steel, is an underground section that houses the generators for the blade traps. The blade traps are placed atop an arrow slit, so that i can maintain them from underground. Very useful as i can repair them while they run, and every solid block on top gets a plate under neath it, so it is technically two steel blocks thick. I put a punch turret on top, to deal with vultures. It hits them, as i see them get knocked straight to the ground every horde night. The main weakness of the hamburger base is it is too short, the slants do not keep the zombies off anymore. So when these get destroyed i replace them with a solid block followed by a plate on the outside.

Underneath the main bunker, is an escape tunnel, so should the bunker fail, i can escape down into a concrete corridor and have an epic last stand there. the tunnel connects to my main base.

The big caveat, is that there is an epic hollow chamber under my main base where i found a giant node of:iron, nitrate, lead, and coal. I am turning that into a giant concrete chamber,  and the walls around my main base are topped with solar powered smg turrets so that i am not bothered by screamers while i run my wall of forges and chem station. When finished the chamber will be turned into steel, and serve as yet another last stand place, though i doubt i will need it.

Pictures will be forthcoming soon.

I would much rather see tier 5 quests have awesome rewards, but not be available every day.   That way, when you see one available, you'll definitely want to do it.

The problem with this (and with T5 quests in general) is just that there isn't high-enough tier loot that exists to be considered "awesome" by the point you can handle tier 5 quests. The game runs out of items to progress through by T4 (and T4 already has some repeats), so T5 has mostly the same rewards but you get more of them sometimes, or a higher level sometimes. I don't think this issue is fixable until the late game is more developed, because there literally just is nothing T5 quests can give that makes them worth doing at that point. An idea could be to have items that can only be obtained via T5 quests, but I have a feeling people would find that really obnoxious (especially if for some reason TFP locked existing items this way instead of adding new ones)

Well, I mean awesome compared to the rewards being shown in this thread.   If T5 quests always awarded quality 6 items it would be much better than what it currently awards, and for me anyway, be worth doing.

lv6 is still possible, just much rare.
Sorry, I guess I dont expressed me correctly. My problem is not the rarity of quality 6 stuff, my problem are the low tier reward showing as a option like 1 antibiotic, Nail Gun, 5 First Aid Bandages...

What the hell? That's some junk right there. no wonder my last play through was so easy, i maxed out better barter and just bought the good stuff out of the special stash when it came up.

Things would not be so bad if the tier 5 quests did not dominate the quest list. It's almost as if you are better off not progressing at all.
That is one of my problems. The rarity of lower level quests after I liberated T5.
