PC Alphas and Dead Zones: 7 Days to Die on console is dead?

So this game has been in alpha for 5 years now if I am not mistaken? Playing the game tonight I have come to the sad realization that this game will probably never leave an alpha state and by the time it does (if it ever does) the PS5 will be out.

Also does the PC have a massive dead zone on the mouse? Why can't they just add a simple option to adjust the dead zone? It's a god awful thing to come into a game with a dead zone bigger than the open world itself.

Anyway, this is just depressing and I wish I could somehow get my money back. I paid full price for a game that is never going to leave alpha state.

I got this game on the end of January Sale for $20.

At ~40 hours of entertainment, the game is much cheaper than going to watch a movie for same price.

Correct, you will probably be bombarded by people that jump on people who complain that they want their money back. Suck it up buttercup. I bought it day one for Xbox and I've put over 400 hours in. Meanwhile I spent 60 bucks on monster hunter world and I wish I hadn't. That's life its only a very small amount of money. Yes console is pretty dead but hopefully you got your moneys worth.

The game released on consoles as a full game not an alpha. It was playable when it released, and there was still a lot of fun. We are lucky enough that Iron Galaxy and Telltale are working with The Fun Pimps and continuing to add stuff to the game for FREE. Also I am pretty sure this game was never $60 which is what I would consider full price for any game released in the last 5 years.

The game is for some, but not all. I have personally put over 1000 hours into it and I still play and enjoy my time on the game. That is life with all games. I have bought countless games I wished I hadn't, but all of those instances are my fault, not the game developers. I should have done more research before I spent money to make sure I would enjoy the game.

Actually based on what I understood is that the game only has a few more alphas for the pc version. Did you know some games been in development for 6 plus years before you hear or see about them? The only difference is on this game if playing on pc you get to play as they are making the game those other games you don't. Beta and alpha are two different things. This of course all is about the pc side. This is the console section so console on other hand is different because it technically isn't alpha or beta. But I have never seen the game on console or pc sell at full prise all the way back from day one. The highest I have seen is like 30 or 35 bucks. I paid less then 60 for 3 copies. One was for console and bought 2 copies on pc one for me and one for a friend.

I bought mine on sale for XBOX1. Don't remember the price. Was good entertainment for the time being. But lack of new content as in new zombies or traps it gets old. Besides 2 MD5 bugs within a 240 days in a game.

the game is buggy, crashes 1.5 hours, and often makes you want to douse yourself in gas and run screaming down the road. BUT, despite all of the issues with the game, it has a whole lot going for it that makes in one of the best games released for console in the last decade, includeng about 90% of games released by AAA publishers like EA, Rockstar, and others. first and formost is the continued support for the game for years after it's release. most games lose support almost the minute they hit the shelves. but with 7D2D, the game is approaching its 3rd (or is it 4th) anniversary since release and is still supported by it's creators who are doing everything in their power to provdie us with the best experience possible. including the addition of new content. most other publishers provide little or no support after release to move on to the next project, some not relaesing even a single update, patch, or DLC. i enjoy this game greatly and i am always looking forward to the next update (and not just because i hope they finally found the cure for the MD5 issue).

Not sure if you're aware, but the game isn't even finished. The entire game is still in alpha, what you consider new content is old content for PC. I really don't get why they had to release the console version as a 'finished' game. Xbox they could have just put it in the preview program.

Perfectly said!!

I bought my copy at launch through Amazon prime for around $25 & I feel that I more than got my money's worth.

This is a finished game. All the new content we have been getting is bonus stuff...FOR FREE! Yes the game does have issues but what game doesn't.

Unfortunately you Xbox players got the shaft experiencing way more problems than us PS4 players & that does suck!

as i understand it, the console version is one version behind the pc version. as i recall, pc is on V1.17 and console is on V1.16. fell free to correct this if i am in error.

everything posted after V1.0 that was not a fix for the base game is bonus content. most other developers (such as EA, ROCKSTAR, & BETHESDA) would have called it DLC and charged us big bucks for it. and the game would be buggy.

and really the fault isn't all with the Fun Pimps. Microsoft, Sony, and Unity share some of the fault. the consoles need more resources to handle the massive amounts of data that is in a state of constant flux during gameplay and Unity needs to find a way tp handle all that data in a better way.

Pc A16 console A15. They are currently working on A17 but it isn't out yet. The reason the console is considered finsihed is because they can't guarantee anything more was or is going to be added past A14. They did manage to get I don't know 90% of A15 from pc to console with a few A16 features as well. Looks like in the news section they are working on another big update. But after that update who knows with console limitations we will just have to wait and see. They did say long ago they would try to keep it as close to pc as they can so we will see what they will be able to come up with. It isn't the fun pimps fault at all they are working on a project they started in the first place on pc. They are not working on the console version. Yes blame sony and MS because they can't release a powerful console. Unity just had a big update not to long ago for pc and it has been so far really good for the fun pimps to work on version A17. So maybe unity will have a update for console and the console team can do some more awesome stuff.

i believe the biggest issue is that 7DTD is a true open world enviroment. there no transition zones of any kind. only Minecraft has come close to this type ov enviroment, and i remember similar issues in early versions of that game. for 7DTD, it just gets to be too much data in a constant state of flux. in single player, the hardware and software can kind of keep up with the changes. but when other players are added, i becomes a problem because the data is changing too fast.

Just a reminder, 7DTD on consoles is NOT an alpha : link

Why is this sold as a finished product?TFP is still developing the PC game, but Telltale/IG took a14.7 and worked on porting it to the consoles. It's sold as a finished product of the a14.7 version of the game. What you have, is what was in the PC version at that time. New PC content may or may not be added to the Console version.
This is the official statement.

So please stop consider console version as if in alpha stage, this is not the case.

I'm still going to consider this game in alpha since what we've got of the game hasn't been optimized and truly finished.

I like the game, it's fun but it's def an alpha. No matter what kind of PR spin the devs want to put on it. It's inferior to the PC version (obviously, I knew this going in) and the PC is still in alpha.

So to say this game ISN'T an alpha is pure delusion.

It's not an alpha. Its a port of the latest stable version of a game that is still in Alpha. The main difference in that is, and consider what I say, most of the bugs have already been worked through by the time the new features are added to console. I mean sure, it's likely a semantics game to allow a console release, but the pure and simple truth is that neither Sony or Microsoft, treat the console addition as an alpha. If they did, it wouldn't be available on either system.

Well said. I wish people would apply this logic to the rest of their lives. No need to get mad or angry. Just play it or move on. It's no biggie.

I seriously doubt that you have monster hunter world if you think 7 days to die is more fun and I don't even like the game that much lmao. Lets stop playing. This IS a failed game. AS SOON as something better comes along you WILL BUY IT and YOU WILL eventually switch off from this lame ass game. Anyone playing this game just wants to play something like it on console, and if you're playing this on PC lol... well you're just sad.

Lol in your opinion it's one of the best game releases because there are no numbers to support that fact, like wtf people ?

Edit: Even those companies you listed completely take a crap on Fun Pimps or whoever runs this nonsense game. ROCKSTAR?! I can understand EA since everyone has problems with them at some point but regardless, idk what these others are but these guys aren't doing a single thing better than anyone besides maybe EA, who has even slower progress on certain games then these backwards developers. Rockstar's GTA alone swipes this game with its pinky toe, how could you ever talk about patches and support when they clearly support their games? If Fun Pimps or whoever the hell were actually smart, they would've made this game in a different way, similar to state of decay or something. This voxel creation system is pointless, even if you don't like graphics it doesn't look good either way you cut it(even things such as water just look stupid as hell, water is very unrealistic with this engine), there's too many things negative to say about this game for you blind fans to continue to be blind fans. Of course, niche communities will be niche communities lol. It's 2018 and the game hasn't release crap since what? Some bridges? a trade npc or some ♥♥♥♥?
