PC Alpha17 Backstory / Difficulty

Blackrook

Refugee
The backstory is:

You are the worlds worst couch-potato - eating crisps/chocolate and drinking coke all day long watching reruns of Dukes of Hazzard and Nightrider on TV. Eventually your cable fails and you can't get any more TV, the internet isn't connecting, no phone connection so you can't order any pizza or food from the supermarket. Opening the curtains for the first time in years you see dead bodies and litter are scattered along your street. Having no choice, as by now you are getting pretty damn hungry you have to go outside for the first time in several months. Shuffling out of the door you already feel out of breath, another 10 steps and you are exhausted. It's at this point you see the zombies at the other end of the street stumbling towards you - maybe you could move faster if you weren't so tired and overweight, and hell so hungry.

Maybe you'll live long enough to get fitter and healthier.... but I doubt it.

Had to come up with something to explain why we can't run more than 10 yards without running out of stamina in alpha 17.

Perhaps if the character models are all scaled to be freakishly fat when you start the game, and they slim down and get more muscular as you get levels and spend perk points.

Been playing since 2013 - and this is the toughest its been, enjoying it but it definitely needs a bit of balance.

I don't mind the gated levels, love the new POIs etc although maybe too many z'ds in them to be able to clear out

in one day, but the stamina/hunger levels at the very start are a bit too harsh.

Makes more sense than the reason Dukes of Hazzard reruns were removed from being aired, lol. Starting out, your character is way too weak now. Leveling up seems to help some, but I don't think we'll be able to sustain the same abuse or minimize the amount of stamina we use as we did before, especially in A16. Haven't tried a fully maxed out character, but due to a bug causing my character to level up from level 27 to 300 in one quest, and dumping a bunch of points into skills, I can deal and take more damage, but it doesn't look like we'll have the stats comparable to previous alphas.

Haha sounds about right op.

Does food stack i.e. I am at 99% fullness can I eat a meat stew and not have to eat for longer before my hunger drops to 99%?

or would I be better off just eating constantly grilled meat?

Best backstory ever. I think it's legit also since TFP are from 'Murica.

However, the stamina is still work in progress.

I noticed sometimes is doesn't lower while chopping or sometimes it goes double as fast.
