I know Mr "The Pimp", Rick, likes to keep us in suspense and anxious, but I hope I didn't fully jump the gun in my excitement for the news of it coming out this weekend. lol.

If it does end up getting postponed, I'll own up to my gaff.

:)
The response of a mature, responsible streamer...

The problem occurs when the immature ones look for someone else to blame and suggest a deadline was blown.

Sadly, there does seem to be a lot more immature streamers than mature ones.

Sheesh. You guys... lol

Oh yes!

I will first learn from the jedi masters then go hulk mania on them there zombays!  (Someone tell me the flaming, spiked, baseball bat is still a thing!)

The only question that still remains is:

1) Big fort?

2) Big Huge fort?

3) Big Huge Fortress of doom?

Answer is:  "Always pick the answer with the most words!"  (Giving you more time to slowly move toward the exit!)

Facepunch studios. Rust is updated each and every month. It also started in EA in 2013 and was "gold" Feb 2018.

I love 7 Days to Die -- it's my favorite game, by far. I've been playing since Sept 9, 2013. But TFPs are at the other end of the spectrum from Facepunch. Can't you at least admit that professionals are able to meet timelines? It's juvenile to hide behind "We can't miss a deadline if we don't make one." All you're really saying is, "We have no idea how long stuff will take because we're not professional enough to know" or something like that.

I love 7 Days to Die in spite of the dev team. I'll keep playing and be excited for each new release. But I don't have to keep defending them for their poor work output.

One question for all you: How'd you like to get monthly updates -- both small and large -- on 7 Days? Don't tell me it's not possible as that's exactly what Facepunch delivers on Rust. Hell, I'd settle for twice a year updates, but if history is any guide, I'm sure TFPs would have trouble hitting those deadlines.

I, personally, am a developer. (Admittedly, not in the gaming industry.) But I have seen companies do this, heck even Microsoft (who I am not a fan of) tries to do this with "Patch Tuesday." The developers that do scheduled releases are not any better at time management then other developers without a strict release schedule.

Even with a scheduled update...  A few days before the release, the developers and management gather and discuss the upcoming (scheduled) release. They discuss the stability of each and every part of the release. If a single part is not ready for release, they pull that piece and delay it until the next release. (where it may or may not be delayed again.) Usually at least one thing is ready for release they package it together and ship it off for a regular release. So every month usually has a release.

Users are happy because they get something every month... "Wow, I guess they are still working on it." However, if they are waiting for a particular piece to be released, they can still get frustrated... "XYZ still wasn't released this month; when will they get off their butts and finally put it out there, I have been waiting forever."

Another bad thing about scheduled releases is dependencies... If the new electrical system is not ready, it means anything that requires it has to be delayed too. (i.e. if the power changes aren't working, you can't release the new lights, the new electrical doors, or anything else.)

So scheduled releases are not any better than unscheduled; users can still be frustrated by both. One *might* be better than the other depending on the situation, but honestly it comes down to whatever the team is most comfortable with.

That being said, I am quite happy with TFP devs and how they manage releases. Yes, as a user, even I want it released yesterday, But I will patiently wait until it is ready and be happier with prioritizing quality over speed. (THANK YOU DEVS!!!)

I can already see the rage coming in case this doesn´t happen on the weekend. Why aren´t you giving the streamers a NDA until the date is 100% safe? That hype building and then not delivering is the worst you can do.

And nope, you can´t blame that on the streamers, if there is no NDA.

I personally don´t care if it´s this or next week. Or even next month. I can wait. But i don´t see why you risk losing reputation for no reason at all.

Wait a minute…..they informed the streamers that it may happen this week but it is not official

some streamers jump the gun and pre-release before final confirmation

It gets delayed one week because of some issue

yet it is TFP’s fault becuase a streamer jumped the gun?

From the posts I've seen from some of the streamers/content creators they were told they could announce it but that something could still go wrong and it be delayed. I think TFP should have only told streamers they could announce it once they were 100% certain it was good to go. I think that's the point pApA^LeGBa was making as well

Some announced, some released a video by accident instead of scheduling it waiting for official notice.
Those who did I'm sure will explain the folly to their followers.

Don't get all yer panties in a knot guys, it's a awesome video game, but in the end, it's still just a game ;)
I'm excited as everyone else, which lead to my hasty error uploading my video.
It's actually been unlisted until official notice 😛
Just waiting on the official statement hopefully today to either make it public again, or explain my error (which is also posted in the pinned comments, if you've accessed the video)

It's still Capp's fault.

Yes it is the fault of TFP if they don´t have a NDA with the streamers. @Doomofman explained that correctly.  If anyone thinks that streamers will not announce if they are told there is a chance that it releases than they are naive.

And you are also naive if you think that the internet mob will not blame TFP for letting it happen that a hype builds up.

But let´s see. Still chances that it comes this weekend.

It seems to me that some people want to blame TFP for everything, even if it isn't there fault.  NDAs are legal documents that are not necessary, especially for announcing a streamer weekend.

lol you act as if the people who announce it don't have a reputation to upkeep as well....  if they don't, well they aren't big enough to make that sort of impact in the first place.
I don't think you really understand the industry my friend.

@BFT2020 A legal contract or part of a contract between at least twoparties that outlines confidential material, knowledge, or information that the parties wish to share with one another for certain purposes, but wish to restrict access to.

There. it´s exactly fitting for not telling that it might be out this weekend. Not saying that it actually needs to be legal contract. Would have been enough to tell them to not spoil anything before it´s 100% safe that it´s this weekend.

@skippy0330 Well i do know the internet quite a bit. And the streamers will get away more easily with this. A lot easier. It will be mainly TFP getting @%$# for this.

Looking forward to watching your Alpha 20 playthroughs (and Capp's, can't forget about his)

Why in the f would tfp be held responsible for what a streamer announced?

That makes zero sense.

A21 will be released by Christmas, A22 by new years...

Ooooooh boy, tfp is going to get it now if I'm incorrect...

C'mon son.

Yeah, but no one is blaming the streamers. TFP get´s blamed already, and it hasn´t even been postponed. You will see in case they can´t make it this weekend. I would bet a lot of money that the streamers won´t get blamed a lot, but TFP will be, if it really doesn´t release.

I know these type of people from the steamforums. They will blame TFP for poor communication and marketing skill and they already did it a lot.

It seems my english isn´t good enough, people don´t get the point here. TFP will be blamed. Not the streamers. Can´t say it more shortly.

And that could have easily been avoided by a NDA.

Either i really can´t get my point over in english or you guys have never visited the steamforums, facebook or reedit and have absolutly no clue how those kind of people act.
