<drop event="Destroy" name="foodHoney" count="1" prob=".2"/>

doesnt this mean a 20% chance to drop from stump?
It should? It might've changed since then. Still, the point is, Xml probs "almost guarantee" the item within the margin, whatever the likelyhood of dropping it. In this case and IF the 1 value means 100% (not always the case) then we get a jar every 5 stumps with a brutal scalating unlikelyhood of more than 5 not giving anything in a row. A player that breaks 10 stumps and gets nothing with a 20% chance is facing something akin to 200 against 1 odds of NOT getting a jar, and in this case said player should play the Lottery more often, lol. That has never actually happened to me. XML prob value is pretty solid and honey WILL appear after X number of stumps without going further than X if it hasn't already done so.

10 times not getting honey with a 20% change is 0.8 ^ 10 = .107, i.e. a chance of 1 in 10, not 1 in 200.

I did exagerate a lot . Roland would be proud of my crazy unfounded calculations. Not getting honey after 10 stumps is not sweet at all. After 100? Sour.

You are correct however I thought that included increased honey for stumps as I considered stumps as trees though, honestly, I do not know for sure.

No, the book doesn't affect stumps.  It only affects things with the

WasteTreasuresHoneyHarvest

tag which is only on the tree master block.  Stumps are not extended from the tree master block so the chance doesn't change for them

a 20% chance of drop means exactly that. every time you break a stump there is a 1 in 5 chance.  However probability does not mean you are guaranteed a drop if you break 5 stumps. Its like the old monkeys and typewriters writing Shakespeare meme its not likely to happen but it could.

Some days RNG gods are not on your side...

Any plans to fix the server browser in a20.5? selecting north america west, i get chinese servers, european servers some using something that says naiwazi.com idk what that is.

now, if choosing server location is up to the server manager, and not up to the developers, that means that no matter which settings we use in the filter we will always see only chinese and other servers? you made this game unplayable, the older browser was much better than this.

Better would be a filter for ping. Doesn´t really matter where a server is as long as it doesn´t lag.

Generally a complete overhaul of the server browser is needed. I can´t see all my favorites at once if they are in different regions. A favorite list only usefull if i can see everything on there at once. That´s the whole point of having favorites.

It´s also stupid that we must do a search before beeing able to access our favorites.

And for US people it´s more than just inconvenient that you have to choose either west or east.

There needs to be the option to leave the region blank.

Speaking of ping. Has anyone else noticed how much it has increased. Someone mentioned it was because now we have to go through EOS.  Is that true. I did a test and loaded in A19 and checked some pings and then loaded A20 and checked same servers and the pings sometimes more than doubled so am guessing it may be true.

Before anyone asks. Yes. These were taken within a short period of each other. (Some time passed for me to combine some images to make them all one)

Yes. I also noticed that the player counts were different by time I had taken the screenshots. Yes. I noticed that in A19 it didn't show the shield for EAC. I don't know why that was.

It is easy enough to check my findings as anyone can easily do the same thing and run A19 and A20 and check the pings.

Whatever the ping measures, the client server communication that determines your FPS definitely won't go through EOS. EOS is only used for validating a player when he tries to connect and possibly some telemetry, routing client server communication through EOS would probably cost Epic millions per year for no gain.

So is there some other reason the pings are different for A19 and A20?

Mods folder

Due to restrictions from Microsoft, FUTURE updates may change the location of the Mods folder.

These restrictions make it so that the Mods folder can longer be in the same installation folder as 7 Days to Die.

You can specify the location of the UserDataFolder in the game launcher. The Mods folder can then be placed in that folder.

Add the following to the command line:

Format:

-UserDataFolder=<YOUR_DRIVE_LOCATION><YOUR_FOLDER_LOCATION>

Example:

-UserDataFolder=C:\MyUserData

The UserDataFolder can also be set in the serverconfig.xml file.

Format:

<property name="UserDataFolder" value="<YOUR_SERVER_DRIVE_LOCATION><YOUR_SERVER_FOLDER_PATH><YOUR_FOLDER_LOCATION>" />

Example:

<property name="UserDataFolder" value="C:\MyServer\Users\TFP\123456\MyDediSaves" />

Bull@%$#, microsoft has no domain over where a user wishes to place a folder or save files, your workaround could literally just lead right back to a MODS folder within the game folder if the player so chooses by adding the lines and directing it to the mods folder within the 7 days game folder.

nice try, but i smell BS.

That's no bull@%$#, that's how it is if you want permission for crossplay with the Xbox. Unfortunately, this is the case. You can hear this from the Funpimps themselves in the interview with Guns, Nerds and Steel.

I literally just told you how people can still place it in their desired folder, which would happen to be the same folder as the game, and just point to it.. with that said why don't they just have it retained in that folder and point to it with those lines of code themselves without player intervention to maintain it where the PLAYER DESIRES.

and considering I literally called BS on them, why would i listen to the excuses from the source I am claiming BS on? that's literally saying "hey those guys you called liars, here is there interview on the matter where they explain the lie"

Sure individual players could do that, but soon they'll probably have to specifically add exceptions into their antivirus software, especially the one from Microsoft itself. MS tries to establish new standards so they can make some parts of the directory tree follow stricter rules, especially the program folders.

Do you remember very old windows versions like windows 3.1? In those times all programs just dropped some of their DLLs (aka libraries) into the windows system folder. Usually that meant that windows became unstable when someone installed lots of programs. It needed years for Microsoft to realize that is a bad idea and change that practice through promoting new style guides and constant pressure put on software developers.

And I think this is again such pressure put on all developer to follow their new style guides. You just wait 2 years and no game or other software will write into the Programms directory anymore except for installation. And just like the operating system is protected by being fully cryptographically signed from "secure boot" up more and more programs will be signed as well (and will not start if anything is changed there). This is a move Microsoft had planned for years.

EDIT: I just checked and at the moment signing is only done for each executable, not a whole directory. So at least momentary that would not be the reason. But dividing the directory tree in writable and unwritable parts is definitely beneficial and has been done in linux as well for example.

It's perfectly fine for individual players to modify their own computer files. But if a studio wants to do business with Microsoft then they have to follow Microsoft's procedures. This is exactly what TFP is doing-- following the guidelines of Microsoft so that they can participate in Game Pass and have crossplay enabled for the xbox. They will do the same for any procedures dictated by Sony. So, yes, TFP has changed their directory structure to comply with Microsoft standards while at the same time keeping it possible for PC players to change things if they so desire for themselves. There is no other reason for the change and it isn't coincidence that it happened during the update in which they made the game compatible with Game Pass and began work on crossplay support.

This is perilously close to being a bannable offense. I suggest you back up from any statement where you are calling the developers outright liars on their own forum. Its fine that you don't understand why these changes happened but that doesn't mean you have to skip a few logical thoughts and go right to "they're lying". Now you know the reasoning behind the change and my advice is to accept it as the truth.
