Awesome. I can't wait to see it done. I'll look for the arch blocks tomorrow and see how I can use some of them. I like the gothic look to them.
Something new ive been experimenting with (not sure if new or if im late to the party) are the incline and narrow wedge blocks.  Just type narrow or incline into the CM and let your imagination run wild (may need to toggle dev filter for some). :)

Edit:  Also forgot about all the different sized "gable" blocks.  here is the arch design I did for my A19 Church POI (Tier 2 Quest)

One issue I had with activating the rally marker is that it teleported my hog back to where it was parked when I hopped on it to do the quest.

Default of course.

I don't say roads are perfect, but far from unrealistic or broken or "missing".

The problem is that RWG is still random, so what I get with one seed could be totally different when I change seed.
On default I had problems with sudden walls and also with cities and towns not being connected

I've been running a vanilla server with a half-dozen+ people for over a month and nobody has complained about disconnected cities or any particularly terrible world gen. Some road intersections are a *little* messed up (terrain goes up or down in weird locations) but... overall it worked pretty well. I may try a nitro-gen for my next run after A19 goes to stable, but the vanilla world gen certainly doesn't seem to be as horrible as you make it sound. It does take forever and a day though... (40+ minutes to generate)

I've been saying this for ages. People keep acting like double loot is a bug or exploit, but you are literally doing the work twice, it's no different than if two identical PoI spawned side by side and you looted both. Why would you NOT get double the loot . . .
Hmm, ya, never thought of it that way, but I think you are right after pondering it for a minute.

Because it is magically restored when I click the button. That is why I suggested restoring the POI when the player is a block or two away, (when the chunks load). To me the only edge case here is you would get a failed quest if someone else goes inside before you do and dirtied up the chunk. The other one is if someone was inside it would respawn everything. Maybe it does that already, I don't really know what happens if someone is inside already. So it would be like activating the rally marker without doing it, when the chunk loads.
So visually cheesy. I get it. Having the POI reset out of sight would be nice. Maybe if the exclamation point can be changed to a person and you have to turn your back to the property to face them could make it a little better.

I really need to give a shout out to you castle builders. I don't have an artistic bone in my body so when I see the stuff you guys build, I'm jealous as heck. I'm a solid math/science guy and I've tried to create stuff, I just don't have the talent. I will stick to my square base and just admire what you guys build. Seriously, keep posting pics for me and others like me that aren't creative. Very impressive stuff. Thanks for sharing.

Hi MM @madmole, short question.
Will some electricity come in the future? I love the game but I love more when I have to start with electricity.
Thanks for A19

Since Maps are being dicussed; any chance of 1 or 2 new Pregen maps in the near-ish future?

I'm playing Pregen02 and frankly, it's not great. The land between the city with the tree house trader on the edge of the city in the snow and the green forrest city to the NW is pretty bad, basically worthless. It's all hills/mountains/small lakes. What makes it worthless is that the flattish vales/valleys, which look visually smooth, are a washboard. Driving there on a bike or minibike is like riding a bucking horse. If it weren't for the washboard terrain it would be a very nice area for someone looking to build out in the country, but I can't see many players taking on that commute to town. You'd have to drive it to see what I mean.

The two cities are connected but in a huge loop that has to add more than a kilometer in distance.

Thanks! Just type arch in the CM for that I think. Yes I really haven't started serious painting yet, this thing is maybe 20% done, I have huge plans. There is an awesome circular tower in the back on one corner where I figured out how to make a very nice round tower. The walls are cool too, I will show the whole thing on youtube when I'm done, but the walls jut out one meter every 5, just so they don't look flat, and my court yard gets bigger to the back because of it.

That big tower just got filled in today, it was 4 poles a bit ago. I plan on doing buttresses 1/3 to 1/2 the way up, a staggered design, like the top is staggered.

Army of Darkness for that :)
how to make a very nice round tower. ... how?  Please?

So I was just browsing the 7D2D subreddit, and after watching it post's video, it seems that the hatch elevator has been fixed.

*a post's video

Yeah they fixed that a while back, and I really wish they hadn't. They fixed the bug . . .but didn't replace it or address the reason *why* people were using such a janky method to get from bedrock to the surface

This game desperately needs an elevator, it takes so long to get from my bedrock base to the surface that I run out of stamina and have to stop half way to catch my breath

No, I meant that someone found a way to revive the hatch elevator using the hatch elevator and a garage door at their feet.

Apologies if I'm not supposed to post this here. If not, then at least in my defense, TFP can look at it themselves and decide if they want to patch it out or not.

Not all "glitches" need to be patched out though, especially not when it's actually useful and covers a completely missing niche in the game. Blizzard actually just talked about this exact topic in their AMA yesterday. They look at weird physic bugs like the hatchframe elevator and assess it's uses and why it's used and just polish into an actual feature
1, It's Activision Blizzard and has been for a long time. 2, I doubt that TFP would want a working elevator in the game. This is the apocalypse, not a resort. 3, We'll see what happens. :)
