I can't speak for everyone, but I personally believe that everyone on these forums and in the community as a whole is quite passionate about this game, some... more so than others, for better or for worse. Some are excited for the future, others are chained down by nostalgia and a love affair for the old ways, and some suggest building on top of the foundation or altering it in some way while others demand that the whole thing be torn down and restarted from scratch. Some ideas are obviously better than others, but we all have one thing in common: we all want the best for this game, whichever direction that may be in. Whether you rant on about ninja animal attacks, the new loot stages, the soundtrack (most notably the battle music it seems like), the perk system, or whatever it may be, it's all valid feedback in my eyes, although that doesn't necessarily mean that everything is equal. Validity and value are two totally different things, but I'm not going down that rabbit hole to close this off.

If we think a system isn't very good we improve it. Of course there is always some guy who thinks the hacked in quick version was better. We don't. That is the draw back with early access is some players get married to unfinished systems that we put in as a placeholder, or its missing the polish features we wanted to do but didn't have the time, etc. But as we polish for gold that always makes a few haters, but generally we make more fans.

I bought the game in Feb and played a few times until March. I wasn't married to anything. The new mechanism inserted a grind into the game, which is poor design.

And sorry if you hate people just because they don't agree with you.

I pulled a level 5 scrap leg armor and a lvl 6 primitive bow out of the same chest. The armor I sold cause I go light armor tree but the bow was an upgrade from my lvl 3. Having the chest actually work as intended and be in a random place in the area is now fixed so yea, your exploit of using the marker to know the exact coord is now removed. I dig supplies and treasure the exact same way I always have, In lines skipping alternate rows using the flashing red marker. When I'm done I seal the tops with wood frames. It's far from being a time intensive process. This is still with a stone shovel even.

Facts matter when they are relevant. What's relevant is that digging for that long is boring. If I want to be bored with a shovel in my hand I'll use a real one in my yard and do something that's actually worth doing.

 
I personally dont mind some things take a effort. If you dont Like to dig, then Loot instead. The Random in chest location is what makes it fun. I Think the mining was more rewarding before they made the ores, because now its easy. It was a grind before, but when you found an ore it was pretty great. 

 
I just saw the @Prime and @faatal stream today and I must say, it was very fun to watch and insightful in many aspects.

On a side note, the fps tanking near water was probably due to the SS Reflections Postprocessing option (I think it stands for Screen Space Reflections) AND hopeful a conflicting situation with the higher quality water shader (I say hopeful because it would be an easier fix to tweak the shader than to mess with SS reflection code I think). There's  certainly a way to balance water/reflections so it looks amazing and doesn't affect performance AT ALL.  That's why the fps only drop when the reflection is showing off its magic (when looking across the water and not directly down). 

I am playing with water on low and no ss reflections and water is completely perfect performance-wise.

SS reflections are beautiful though. It's the closest one can be to a real Ray Tracing simulation.

I don't think I read a single thing in that quote from madmole that ever stated he hated people that disagreed with him. His main point is you can't make everyone happy, but they and the players who've been around for this long love the progress and look forward to seeing more.

As to your second note about "facts". That's not a fact, it's an opinion; that only you and a few others share. Have you played minecraft? It's not exactly easy to start off mining stone with a wooden pickaxe. And then you're blowing through iron just to find diamonds so you can mind more diamonds faster. There are plenty of ways to play this game that do not include "using a shovel". People have also created guides on how to progress as fast as the game allows us to get to Iron, Steel, and Mechanical tools. "Do something that's actually worth doing". LUL. You're on a forum complaining about a game you already know you don't like. If there were things worth doing, you surely wouldn't be doing them anyways.

Just say you don't like the game and move on, m8. No one is going to hate you for not liking the game. We already know it's not for everyone.

 
Sooo there was just a power outage at my place - it lasted for about a tenth of a second I'd say - and it corrupted my world files completely. I think I'm just going to wait for stable, the world is angry at me for playing EXP right now. 🙄

Edit: Nevermind, managed to salvage my save files. It wiped my bike though, so I just spawned a new one in.

No, that was Gazz hacking into your power grid to punish you for criticizing his balancing of the game. 😛

 
Just to bounce back on the brawler, I do not think the knuckles are bad at all. They just have that weird... treshhold where they are absolutely garbage early game, because they rely on dismemberment chance a lot and you have none on level 1. Once you add some fortitude/brawling points, they start shining pretty early, even without beer.

That being said, if they could reduce the chance of getting any critical hit and not just infection (which is the least problematic one of them all) it would be a welcome buff. Nullifying all chance to get crit'ed would be a bit OP, but adding 10% crit resist per point in the brawling perk would be nice.

By the way, is the next patch fixing the bug of almost never getting a critical hit in MP ? 

PS : @Gazzsorry for my tone in yesterday's posts, I was having a rough day and was out of line.

Very unfair how you treat us newbies. I may have only a few hours in the game, but I'm still a human being that should be treated with respect.

Seriously though, I assume that means there is a block in the game (toilet?) that gives a guaranteed small iron pipe? I had thought even those had some RNG.
