Int is only "needed" if you feel the need to rush.You don't have to.
Int is also necessary if you want to be efficient. 20% less resource consumption in the production of petrol and gunpowder is a massive bonus. You don't have to go all the way in but a few points in Int won't hurt.

 
Of course it's useful. Some just claim that you cannot play the game without putting serious points into that and that's simply hyperbole.

 
The first step is always to make it work consistently.Polishing details like individual weapons / weapon types - that takes a lot more time to design and balance.

Rifles are still "good" at stealth. Their silencers are just a lot less effective so that pistol/smg are arguably the best gun for stealth.

A compound bow does a little more damage than a pistol with HP... with AP steel arrows... and obviously it's another notch stealthier.

Crossbows are still murderous so no big change there. =)

Does that make a pistol a bad choice? With a 20 round magazine and potentially on full auto? Not even close.

Was it possible to play stealthy before? Absolutely. The agility-based weapons just didn't have the damage numbers to make this properly OP.

And yes, specialising in one attribute should be OP. Just ask someone going all in with fortitude. =)
This is all great news. I love playing a primarily AGI build and the pistol is my back up weapon of choice to my bow/crossbow. I remember (maybe incorrectly) one of the devs saying that sneak damage might come into play during horde night. I can, in MP land the occasional sneak damage shot, already and would really like to see that on horde night in SP land too. There was also some mentions that sneaking in general might get some tweaks in how zombies respond. Are those two things still in the works?

 
Since the subject has come up and there are several people here from that part of the world I have a chance to ask a stupid question that's been on my mind for a while.
I know the Southern United States use massive air conditioners to blast cool air into the house. My question is this. What do you guys do for heating? Do you even bother with it? Do you all use that weird method of blowing hot air under the floor?

The reason I ask is that after all of these years I cannot remember seeing a single radiator outside of a New York based Woody Allen movie.
I live in Arizona and most central AC units that I've seen are combo units that also blow heat. It's like that on my house and my neighbors as well as far as I know. I live in a 1970s/1980s built neighborhood. So the heat comes out the AC ducts.

 
A19 will bring the game to completion in terms of melee items and firearms. 3 tiers of every weapon archtype.

terms of melee weapons! what's coming in Alpha 19?

i thought every melee weapon was ingame in terms of tier 1 to 3!

Unless your adding new types of melee weapons? what other melee weapon needs a tier 2 or 3?

Efficiency is only needed if you want to rush...

Yeah, I edited my post already. I added stun baton as a new example, I don't think there are 3 in the game yet.
my hope is for INT they add More advanced versions of weapon tiers we got

Stun baton is for Club for example! they could do a lot for Int weapons like!

Pressure Gauntlet = Brawling

Hotrod sword = Blade

Rocket hammer = Sleigh

Shock Lance = Spear (idk for that one feel free to give idea about that)

and maybe a Gun section for INT would be cool but thats a whole other can of worms!

 
Im running a Agility/Intellect game atm. Really enjoying it. I feel though that you need Intellect in every game. The tree is so OP , way to much needed perks in my opionion. Are you going to adjust Intel at all?
I would have to disagree with the intellect is a mandatory perk tree to take, my last several play throughs I have not put a single point into intellect, you can find the schematics or just buy the forges and workbenches and other things outright and spend the points elsewhere.

well with some items being trader only, and needing better barter 3 to get to them, it tends to make at least partial intel a requirement.

NV goggles being one of them for agility builds at night with the new lighting system. I love doing t5's at night instead of mining

speaking of those items i have a few ideas i want to talk about those

in short term. have some things findable and make some things harder to find!

Stuff like Solar Cells and Panels would be a Super rare (the crucible would be easier to get! in a working stiffs box)

Night Vision Goggles should be found in Munition boxes and Very rarely you could get special ammo! (like AP or HP)

Cusables should be harder to find sense i found 2 in one small store!

Ammo piles should have arrows in their as well as bullets (but bullets are more rare)

and Reinforced chest should have tiers to add up with difficulty of a POI!

Everything below AFAIK, but:

NV googles are findable in loot. Would have to check the xml to be sure but I think it was even mentioned in this thread a while a go that they are just rare.

The only items confined to BB3 are solar panels. And till today nobody could explain to me yet why they wouldn't be optional.
