Hmmmm.... a new toy. Masochists will be excited to hear about this being added!TFP considers all players when adding content, I don't care what anyone else says this is proof! :-P
I can already imagine snow setting up 10 of these in a row and running through them.

All that is missing now is a bound and kidnap mechanic like from the savage lands game and Snow would be in paradise lol...

I have to say all this gold talk last year scared me and made me panic a bit, but with A18 you guys proved us Nay-sayers wrong and delivered an awesome Update. Im gonna be honest here, after A17 i kinda lost hope and feared you guys would rush for Gold and start the next game.
But even tho its rumored that you guys will do another game, it doesnt feel like you are giving up 7 Days anytime soon and im thankful for that.

After i sunk 500ish Hours into A18 alone im taking a break but i cant wait to see what you guys are cooking up for A19 or A20.

All that i read about A19 here makes me drool and im very curious how you are going to pull off the Drone.

Im staying tuned and please keep up the good work.

I always liked the hornets. Maybe not the AI they had at the time, but the hornets themselves. If I am not mistaken, your KS deal said there was going to be mutants and stuff, so they fit the theme.
Edit: was nothing like seeing a swarm of them gathered in the wasteland city. ;)
It was probably the fact that it was the only mutated thing at the time so the people who didn't know the full picture who just looked at screenshots thought the giant hornet was out of place.

Its a turret that has a pulverizing metal arm that extrudes out. A tier 1 first turret players might craft, the current junk turrets will be gated further probably since they are pretty good. The junk drone will be top tier.

Assuming candy makes it into A19, I am curious if one could become addicted to it. Possible side-affects already exist for buff-giving drugs such as Fortbites, Recog, etc. and while candy isn't a drug, the similarities are there (between these consumables).
There are no downsides yet. That could come later on in another alpha. I'd like to see that people like them first before considering downsides.

 
Hey MM,

Just curious about the implications of a hovering drone.

So if there is a hovering drone are there hover cars, hover sleds.

Thinking more in terms of world building here.

Is this a tech that is a military item and thus rare.

If not rare tech why not more evidence of this tech in the world.

I do get that its a new feature and thus may not have had its ramifications in the world building atm.

Is it a simple brushless motor tech driven multi-prop or some other tech. You have said many time already that we have hovering drones and robotics is very advanced. That is indeed true. The engines just have an influence on the world.

I guess it could be a new tech that came out a month before Z day, that would reduce the influence.

Any thoughts/comments?

Also, do you have any side projects that you work on in your free time, or does working on a game during the day take the fun out of coding at night for you?

Any plans for traps to be implement for base designs that don't extrude to give us more tools in the box, ie spikes that come out the floor/walls from say a plate or full block but when not activated they allow normal pathing?

Joel, could you clarify the information about the junk turrets? Will the junk turrets be the first tier turrets of this type? Or will other turrets of the first tier appear in the game, and the current turrets will become the second tier turrets?

 
Why settle for a junk turret when you can BE the turret, think Major William Cage in Edge of Tomorrow with that exo suit with the over-the-shoulder sniper/laser or RPG combos.

Sure it's OP but looks fun as hell. Technically it adds another new vehicle as it improves mobility and storage options.
