Have you seen a bear indoors? Its horribly glitchy at best and should be removed from POIs IMO.
One of my dogs passed away a few days ago, don't tell me I don't love dogs :( Hell I'm the one who had the wolves made with backpacks, but programming says its a lot of engineering to get them pathing properly indoors and up stairs etc so no four legged friends unless we push bandits back another 6 -12 months which is not acceptable. Its not a big deal when its a dog zombie trying to get to you and he can't but when its your pet dog loaded with gear stuck or looks like crap 98% of the time, its something we aren't going to add.

I mean who wants a dog when you might get an actual NPC that talks, comments on the apocalypse, etc? A bot can pave the way for those mods at least or make the feature less risky.
Condolences for the loss of your dog. I have three myself and don't think I'll ever be ready to see any of them go.

NPC followers would be pretty fun. Currently I have to wait for my friends to be on to take advantage of additional inventory slots and comments on the apocalypse. :rapture:

Maybe a combination of radiation and a custom antidote/vaccine has mutated them.

Bandits hopefully they have bases you can attack but not sure if they should attack your base , something to think about maybe you can zone it to biomes so there is a higher risk in certain areas to being attacked but greater resources etc.

I can dig it. I know a lot of people hate the concept of mutations in this game, but in my opinion especially with this whole radiation thing untouched, it's a must not only for the enemy progression, but also to tie everything together in a more meaningful way.
I can dig it too if it adds more varied gameplay. If I ever want Romero nostalgia someone will create a mod for it or I could mod it myself. 😎👍

Is a new weather system still a thing? or is it we get what we already have?

Not a gotcha question. Just want to know what I have to work with.

Which runs like crap, is impossible to place in RWG and is still boring af. Why would a small rural AZ space too unimportant to bomb have an airport? It wouldn't.
There are small rural airports ALL over the country..Im not thinking a huge city airport. Just a rural one with a couple of hangars ....small plane capacity..piper cub stuff

LOL, just no. We need late game firepower, you have no idea what is coming. Airport, not fun just a big terminal, luggage and a few shirt shacks and vendors. Takes up a mile of real estate for the runway. It has zero dungeon ability. Caves, we have caves. Bigger maps? 8k is massive, but we might get 16k someday. Traps? We have lots of traps already. spikes, blades, turrets, what else is there? We have a flamethrower trap we can finish.
Weather working correctly..tired of the hot cold thing constantly.

Late game firepower to take on 10 zombies at a time..bit overkill ...unless you playing in a group and live under the same roof. Then maybe you will get bigger numbers of Z's. Even rocket launchers and blowing up fuel drums doesnt do all that much damage anymore. Why not have an artillery strike??

Hot bandits? New mutated things (is it a zombie or what?) for late game stages instead of simple green glowing reskins. I'm kind of thinking the radiated are not even zombies, but humans that survived and mutated. Their flesh is so disgusting even a zombie won't eat it so they walk among the dead. Perhaps they are no longer human, noone knows but they seem to be more intelligent as they wield crude melee weapons and are very hard to kill.
Awesome :)

I have seen bears indoors. Navigane there are two places. Two of them at a bar and one in a construction site under a house. Most of the time they were not an issue. Until they try to go through a doorway...

Sorry about your dog... :(

Looking forward to hearing about these new NPC's though.

Yup, a shame too because nothing has the same effect as seeing a large imposing force. Zombie bears are the scariest things to come across in the game imo.

That is so true Odetta...

I found that out the hard way both both times. I survived the one at the construction site, I was lucky. But not at the bar.

Those things scare the crap out of me.

A despawn timer for vultures on horde night would be nice. Say a couple minutes if they haven't managed to attack something.
There are a bunch of base designs where if the vultures can't immediately get to you they'll fly up to the sky and sit there unless you manage to pick them off. They take up a slot of an active horde zombie and keep accumulating until the horde eventually dwindles to nothing as you have 8 (or however big a horde you've set) flying half way to the sun trying to find a path to you.

This forces you to continually leave and deal with them just to keep the horde coming or to purposely build a vulnerability into you base to deal with the problem when all you should be doing is trying to survive a zombie onslaught.
Gazz mentioned this today. I added to my todo list.

Can you explain why the team made the decision to cut the Behemoth? Good to hear the bandits are being worked on, I hope they are in A19.
Models/textures and code for bandits are two very different things done by different people. If A19 keeps to a reasonable schedule, then Bandit AI will not be in A19.

If follow code is put in for junkbot then wolf pets can be a reality
When your junk bot gets stuck you would think stupid robot, pick up and move, just like stupid AI in real life.

My cat generally does not get stuck where I have to move her, but pet AI in the game would have those problems in our crazy block world. Teleporting pets would be a thing. Not saying we would do it, but that is how it would have to work.

Add pets to the occlusion system. That way when they are not in anyone's line of site they teleport to you. As you walk forward they are always out of sight. Which would mean they are always "at your side". Just an idea.

Here's a video of my day 56 horde night (18.1, 16 max alive, adventurer diff.). Skip to around the 5 minute mark to see how the vultures just hover above me until I shoot them.

Evidence of that is seen in Minecraft. After all these many, many years, the pets must teleport often to catch up with the player. Nobody cares in MC because the level of realism in that game is much less than in this one. Teleportation in general is a thing in that game and doesn't need to be explained. It would be hard to explain in this game.

Hello,

I remember in Alpha 16 there was jail cell doors you could open and close. I looked through all the items in 18.2 and could only find jail cell doors that were decoration and couldn't be opened is there any chance of getting them added back in for alpha 19?

just an idea for the skilltree:

Skillbundels:

lets say there are 7 skills in the attribute tree and you get all level. 1 for 5 Points.

Discounts are allways nice ^^
