Many games allow you to summon your mount, world of warcraft from example. Is it that much of a leap to allow it into your inventory instead of whistling it away into thin air?
That's magic tho. Mind you, I would be fun to summon a flying dragon for horde night. heh-heh.

*summons dragon*

"I'm hungry"

"Dinner will be here soon"

*ominious music at 10pm"

"Dinner is served!"

*nom*nom*nom*

"Hey these green ones are really tasty!"

"Look for the guys with a glowing thing on their chest. Extra fuel for your fire"

*CHOMP* rumblerumble.. *BELCH!!*

"ooohh... BBQ!"

heh.

Yeh yours are in the compo pack lol. Mine is not small includes 6 triple layer car parks. My casino my hoteldestallion the airport itself which is as long as all the above put side to side lol plus a high rise office tower and a museum lol plus hangars towers runways etc.
Yours look great to and probably used more then mine would be haha. Of it even spawns in rwg lol... 😥😥😥
Nothing spawns in RWG....8k maps are too small once you have vehicles.....we need 16k at a minimum.....Maybe one day!!

Madmole
Faatal stated he would work for free and Gazz said he would start wearing clothes when roaming the forums if you allowed us to have horses in the game... .

That we could ride and tame maybe breed to get that perfect steed.
I want full breeding animations along with vomit animations..otherwise the immersion is lost!!

Coughs * Airport POI * Coughs

I read yesterday that Unity is thinking about that, but they don't know when or if they will do it.
I don't know much about Unity. I just started reading through some things and watching videos.

Is Unity so locked down that you can't write your own texture streaming?

I'm getting the impression that Unity isn't very flexible at all. Everything regarding limitations seems to be at the fault of this engine... but usually an engine, or even some framework of anything, can still be extended upon.

Yes new combat tracks are awesome and will be added to 19.
Can we have that listed on the front post?

The problem with customization of a product (Unity) is you generally dont get support from the developer on maintaining them since its code they cant validate themselves. On the flip side developing your engine from scratch I can only imagine is extremely costly.

Yes...there are only 3 options to consider in life....lol

Oh of course. It takes years just for that. It might be something for TFP to start though now that they have a good foothold in the industry and especially if they plan on franchising this game.

But, I didn't mean writing the whole engine from scratch... just extending upon it.

For instance, sometimes I have clients who demand that I develop a website or secure portal using the Ruby on Rails framework. I'll use that for building a basic template and for the ease of versioning and working with the database models, but when I need something more advanced like communication with network drives, multithreaded background tasks, database synchronizations, and a whole slew of other things that I can't think of right now, I write my own code in raw Ruby for it. As years go by, Ruby on Rails might add a new feature here and there to try to accommodate needs like these, but whenever you do that, you bloat it for everyone else who doesn't use it. I imagine for Unity, the same must apply.

Man I hate landmines. Just died to one that was inexplicably in the paper mill, a very low-tier quest. I thought those were supposed to be gated to high-tier quests, the wasteland, and army bases?

How much damage do mines even do, anyway? Is there any way to meaningfully resist their one-hit-kill existence early on?

I have an idea to make a perk or a book that allows you to defuse mines. Press ctrl carefully come and click on it and that's it.

It would be cool if we could complain about missing horses...
7 Days to die in the 19'th century DLC confirmed? :D

(not joking, that could be great)

Just use Nitrogen. I'm playing a sp 12k map with compopack, and just found both Dishon and and Hitachi Pharmacuticals across from each other and I'm not seeing any significant framerate issues, and great rwg generation.

What I don't get is why vanilla rwg hasn't improved on any of the point releases. I thought those guys were dedicated to the rwg work, and they must have been doing something in the last 2 months.

I really dislike the barren hills and mountains, making some parts of the world look like a throwback to 1995 when they couldn't add deco to games. I live in the mountains, and at 3200 feet above sea level and am surrounded by trees and bushes.

I hated resorting to Nitrogen to get a bigger and improved world gen because I couldn't really provide test world gen feedback anymore, but the barren slopes are just so damned ugly.

@Madmole Has rwg development made any progress or improvements that can be added to the release branch? Make me want to try it again.

Also, if any of the new zombie normal maps are done that would make a nice visual upgrade advert for the holiday season. Toss santa hats on them in a group pose, and your holiday advertising is done.

Hmm.. along those lines, for the holiday season maybe unlock the santa hat and candy cane shiv again, and maybe reskin the loot bag to look like its gift wrapped with a bow?

I do not think you should be able to pickup a vehicle once it has been placed (bicycle yes). Cars get stuck, and you have to dig it out. And sometimes they can not be. I have a friend that will drive the 4x4 through mountain terrain, and then when he gets stuck just pick it up and put it down and of he goes. Sorry that is BS. Terrain should be a factor, and unforgiving if abused. Will I be pissed when it happen to me... yep, but I tested fate and lost.

OMG I love Nitrogen! I am playing in a MASSIVE city, sky-crappers everywhere. Too sweet! And OMG I have stores again, working stiff, pill, the old big crack a book, town-hall. All those buildings I never see in RGW anymore!

We are a rare breed of gamer. Cheers. I agree with this.

So do I. I don't pick up my vehicles. They shouldn't even be buildable by hand or workstation. It should be like the block upgrading mechanic

Meh, shouldn't be able to do a lot of stuff but we can. I see the point but at the same time what does it add by not doing so vs half the other stuff in the game that you are still able to do? When the rwg can generate better so I'm able to get across mountains with a path or whatever then I might consider getting more on board with not picking them up. But as of right now the landscapes don't generate all that good for this to become a thing and don't feel it adds anything to the game at this time imo.
