Hah.... in over 4,000 hours of playing, I've never once ate dog/cat food, moldy bread, or sham sandwiches.... I just can't bring myself to do it, no matter how starving I am.Limiting what guns you use, deciding what food you are allergic to and can't eat
Likewise. However, you have long since learned the ropes, you've mastered your craft, you know the game inside and out. You know how to forage for food, scavenge kitchens, start a farm, buy food from traders and vending machines. If you had said "in my 40 hours of playing", that would have been far more interesting information. Just a small observation on my part.Hah.... in over 4,000 hours of playing, I've never once ate dog/cat food, moldy bread, or sham sandwiches.... There are talks of more T5's at some point. They will be developed in the multi player editor by a bunch of guys all at once to hopefully just get one done in a week with a team of guys.Hate is such a strong word. The problem with T5's is mostly they take a ton of time to make (e.g. 1 month based on what the level designers said) thus the aversion with them. Hopefully that means we will be getting more T3's and T4's in the near future if they have shifted focus away from T5's for now.
Role Play is nice, but having an in game Character generator with strengths and weaknesses would be epic. dlc? Examples:I totally agree with this. Min maxing is natural, yet the most unnatural thing to do to your game and is assured to kill the fun after the first time or two. The fun is building a memorable character who HAS character. It is mostly pre RPG people who bought it for survival, zombies etc. The people now coming on board buying it for the RPG factors seem to love what is possible with the perk system and the role playing you can do. I'd call it a light RPG, but just like with building you can build a box to live in or a castle. You can choose not to role play, or do some very creative things with it, that = fun game play.
Styx's whole thing is role playing whether he knows it or not. He still min maxes, but he self imposes some things that make the game fun for him. The same can be done with role playing. Limiting what guns you use, deciding what food you are allergic to and can't eat, maybe you get too hot in heavy armor or it's itchy. Maybe you are claustrophobic, or need to have 4 concrete walls to sleep. Maybe you are a total nomad. Whatever you choose, it helps make each play through unique and fun.
I can fire up Skyrim, after 9 years and 1000's of hours and as long as I role play some new stuff I haven't done 20 times before, it can turn into a lot of fun. Once I start min maxing it though it goes to crap quick then I want to quit or start new character.
Thats great to hear. Not sure alot of people are aware but the prefab editor, both editor mode and in playtest mode can be done with others. Its a great way to collaborate on prefab builds, or for peer review. It can also be used for creative POI challenges (e.g. Dishong vs LVL 1 character + Tier 1 Loadout). There are talks of more T5's at some point. Well, at one point it was "in my 40 hours of playing"Likewise. However, you have long since learned the ropes, you've mastered your craft, you know the game inside and out. Not dissing you of course, but someone who has already figured everything out has less to say than someone who is just starting out. I only collect moldy bread out of habit, and by the end of a game I have dozens of antibiotics stored up. Cool. What about the littler guy? Do they struggle to find medicine? Not pointing fingers at you of course, but I've met many people over the past several months, usually on the subreddit, who simply cannot accept that their relevancy is diminishing and a "new generation" is taking the hamster wheel.
How was it for you back then? I followed 7D2D on YouTube for years before giving it a shot so I was never truly a "fresh spawn".Well, at one point it was "in my 40 hours of playing"
I came into the game without knowing a thing about it.... alpha 12. I remember my first horde night I had no idea what was going on.... they just plowed through my meager defenses. I was down in my mine.... which was a shaft straight down, with wood frames as a kind of staircase. I remember looking up and watching waves of zombies break my frames one by one until they got to me. I remember thinking, "there isn't a thing I can do about this". I was completely sold on the game at that point. How was it for you back then? I followed 7D2D on YouTube for years before giving it a shot so I was never truly a "fresh spawn".
LOL! Been eating dog food in the game since day one, and I would eat in in real life too if I found myself in the same circumstances as 7DtD.But even then, couldn't bring myself to eat things that I wouldn't eat IRL.
You mean you've never tried cat food? You're missing out. Allegedly it's quite good on toast.I came into the game without knowing a thing about it.... alpha 12. I did some role playing during Alpha 19 experimental. My character would not use anything unless they crafted it himself. When I started, I didn't think that would be much of an issue. Boy did the game prove me wrong. I was at Day 14 when I restarted for the next experimental build but most of my equipment was quality 2 or less (I might had some at Quality 3 by that time). I was still wearing fiber clothes as the Needle & Thread books were not in loot containers I was searching (previous games I found them everywhere - it was like the game saying "Oh now you need them? Good luck finding them"). Even was low on dukes (I extended my conditions to even include not selling to the traders unless I made it myself) - basically all the equipment I found in loot or as loot rewards was scrapped for raw materials - only thing I used as is where items I couldn't build myself (like springs) or if I need some initial items to build the thing I needed (like pipes for the forge so I could build my own pipes - after I built my first forge, the any other pipes were smelted down). The fun is building a memorable character who HAS character.
I know its unlikely to happen, but it would be cool to hide/bury something for white river. Sorta like the inverse of buried supplies / fetch quests...Good to see the screenshot showing towers in Tier 5 quests. Must just be my map has no towers. I am limited to Shotgun Messiah Factory, Shamway factory, Hospital and the 6(?) story apartment building for Tier 5 quests.
Doing these quests made me realize that doing the same quest types over and over was getting boring, even if the POI's were different. Would be good to see some variations such as :
--Clear POI XXX in under 60 minutes
--Clear POI while only using a bone shiv
--Etc
Grabbing the loot satchel doesn't really seem different enough from clearing the whole POI of zombies because always clear the whole POI anyways.
And then besides clearing POI's, how about some crafting quests and mining quests. Maybe not tier5 though, unless crafting requires an end game recipe.
--Deliver 10,000 iron to trader
--Deliver a crafted minibike to trader
etc, quest type variety is just as important to players as quest difficulty. Currently, from what I can see playing there is only dig quests, clear POI (with the variant of just grabbing the satchel supplies from the POI).
The dig quests are enjoyable to me, but sadly dig quests stop at tier 2.
No, what TFP need to do is get the game to gold and not add in any more mindless crap. Maybe their next game, who knows.I know its unlikely to happen, but it would be cool to hide/bury something for white river. Sorta like the inverse of buried supplies / fetch quests...
You`re chicken, mister. And put some bacon as foundation, tastes better.Hah.... in over 4,000 hours of playing, I've never once ate dog/cat food, moldy bread, or sham sandwiches.... I just can't bring myself to do it, no matter how starving I am.
If your willing to eat tuna gravy, cat/dog food is not too far off lol...You`re chicken, mister. And put some bacon as foundation, tastes better.
Oh wait you mean ingame ?![]()
And you`re grounded to set your current game on horde night every night, for the hours you watched all that magic on YT.How was it for you back then? I followed 7D2D on YouTube for years before giving it a shot so I was never truly a "fresh spawn".
