I haven't played Alpha 19 for some time, but recently I played again, the latest b180 and I was surprised how fast the world started! Is it just me, or the speed of loading into the world was greatly increased lately?
That's one major thing that turned me off about Rust. Its best played with a large group of friends/people otherwise you are just fighting a losing battle. Games like that are best in a battle royale mode where matches dont drag on...maybe 20 to 30 minutes, and maybe a 1 hour setting for longer play sessions. Otherwise, its just a grind fest on who can play more, not necessarily who has more skill.Yeah Rust single player and coop is so exciting.Don't get me wrong I like Rust and have a lot of hours, but the only thing it does good is pvp. They should be stealing our pvp fans since we have put 0 effort into pvp so far. Once sp features are done I will get into pvp and do some balancing.
I don't care for the maintenance they added to your base. You have to stuff high quality metal into your cupboard to prevent the decay of your steel base, etc. So it becomes a grind to maintain a small fort. I get why it should decay since they don't have voxels and old abandoned bases should decay to keep servers running good but I think the new design is worse than before where you just had to log on every so often to prevent decay. Imagine building a steel base and having it suck all the forged steel out of your chests just to keep the health bars from degrading in 7 days. It would suck. Repair is bad enough but an ongoing cost makes it so you can't casually play, you have to be playing every night for hours to maintain a small base. I used to slowly build large bases all by myself and go up against teams of dudes, that just isn't possible anymore. The big clan wins because they can afford a larger more secure base because they have 20 guys grinding resources daily.
Damn shame, I wonder how Madmole feels now that he knows 7 days is dead because 3 of this guys friends left to play Rust.too bad people are leaving (due to collision exploits) to play Rust instead.
Whenever I read statements from the Fun Pimps like that I wonder how many players actually play the game on a multiplayer server? Like, how many percent of all players together? Considering how unqualified this game is (in my opinion) for multiplayer servers (unless you play with some friends together only) I imagine 90 % of all players being singleplayer players. Maybe I am wrong?![...] troll other players and bring server FPS to a crash because that is what children do. So for those two reasons players will never get high polygon blocks they can place.
i just don't like rust cuz A! i can't run it but thats meThat's one major thing that turned me off about Rust. With all the cool graphics, and base building mechanics, it would of been a great coop/sp game as well if they focused on that aspect but its basically all PVP.
I think ideas are interesting, but have to say no to everything so we can get the must haves in and go gold.Madmole, and what do you think about idea of static zombies in POIs? I mean zeds, which can't moving, but they can scream a lot, causing damage, when waked up - and wake up zeds around (and maybe summon special zombies). For example it can be zeds on wheelchair, or hanged from ceiling, or just lying with brocken spine etc... Maybe there will be problems with hitboxes (chair, rope), but I think it will be good for atmosphere and for some stealth mechanics, especially if you will make similar corpses, so player must check this zed firstly.
Interesting, if anyone else will like this idea?![]()
it happens to iron when its exposed to oxygen! duhhh!Wait what? Are you guys telling me 7 Days to Die is a bad game? Why didn't you tell me before I spent 3311.6 hours playing it? ... and what the heck is Rust?
Oh, thank you! I thought it was a game LOL, silly me!it happens to iron when its exposed to oxygen! duhhh!
I'm one of the few at TFP who plays solo. Everyone else enjoys coop and I'm sure we will get some data soon from gamesparks once we are out of exp on what % of players are connected to a server vs solo. That is not even relevant though. We have to protect the single players from themselves too, because coffee pot bases would destroy their own frame rate and then they will complain. If you can imagine it, someone will do it so we have to limit things in a responsible manner and design for average use case mostly.Whenever I read statements from the Fun Pimps like that I wonder how many players actually play the game on a multiplayer server? Anyway, leaving out stuff that would be cool for singleplayer due to some multiplayer concerns sounds unfortunate to me as this game will always be much more of a singleplayer game than a multiplayer one.
Yeah, of cource... I'll remind you after the goldI think ideas are interesting, but have to say no to everything so we can get the must haves in and go gold.
me too! i don't know the other words though!Oh, thank you! I thought it was a game LOL, silly me!
looks awesomeWell it is pvp server, and we had roughly 20 active teammates + our russian allies, so total steel production was probably counted in thousands at that moment. Placing 4000 legit hatches was not a big deal, I am attaching tower that once was hatch plated from inside (but we had to call admin to help remove it, because it caused huge fps problems). Zombies were barely active due to ai calculations problems, besides we had a spike pit. On that previous pic you have seen an attack structure (hatched roof bunker, so no players can dig down into your raid base and such).
