Minecraft has a very satisfying underwater swim mechanic. It feels really good and I hope that players will be able to do something that feels like actual swimming. I like what you say about better swimming with faster stamina drain. It opens the way for swimming perks and even new items like snorkles and fins....
I'll have to check it out. I have played Minecraft recently, but I usually play on Skyblock servers where swimming isn't really something that happens often. I'll launch an SP game.

I forget... Were you the guy obsessed with ziplines? If so, then yeah, you're certainly right. Lol.

I'll never understand the zipline thing. It seems like there's an entire subset of gamers that REALLY like Ziplines and want them in all games. I'm personally terrified of them because basically every game that has them, they are a glitchy death trap I fall off of half way across and fall to my death. That, or it glitches when you try to mount it and you just walk right through it and fall off the cliff

I do still want my elevator / late game teleporter though. Teleporter would give so much more base location variety instead of just "Within walking distance of the trader located in the best city". Would need a lot of balance thought though, like limited placements and stuff. If it didn't work on horde nights, and could only be placed in your land claim, and could only teleport to traders and back, would at least go a long way to eliminating it's cheese uses

the swimming is definitly smooth in minecraft, easy to actually catch a fish by killing it with your sword, and with it being self generating removing a block generally it gets filled in with more water, at least that ive seen

the teleport thing i would limit to once an in game day, otherwise everyone would be bouncing across the map without reason causing havok, and it would have to be disabled horde night to stop people from running from the horde

Well, you're in luck, cause 7dtd was an inch from getting ziplines implemented. There was a video with madmole showcasing it, actually, but it got scrapped eventually.

Well excuse me for having the kind of vision that would have truly brought Flappy Bird into the big leagues and don't get me started on Tetrus.

Ziplines belong in every game!

Deep Rock Galactic does ziplines very well. It's not exactly voxel per se, but the small generated maps are fully destructible terrain. They are not glitchy at all but can still be a death trap if you try going up one (because that's really slow) and you haven't made sure the area was clear first. However, there are perks and such that you can use to help avoid a deadly fall if and when it does happen.
Grappling hooks in general are becoming more and more popular in games. It's just fun.

Any reason that trucks and the bus do not break down like the cars in stages  ?
We're probably going to phase out downgrade blocks entirely. It is annoying to break a 5000 hit point block to have a 4k one spawn in its place. We will probably swap models when hit points are a x % instead of completely remove one block and replace it with another which has it's own bugs like deforming terrain and cars popping up and down, etc. Not everything has a downgrade model is the short answer though.

I would like to point out that the only lore and viewpoint that really matters is the one the pimps have for their game.  They said they will be releasing their lore eventually.  It's their world.  The zombies can swim ... they could dance the hula if the devs thought that was part of the lore.

@madmole There are plenty of lakes deep enough to fully submerge in the pregen worlds and on random maps.  My current one is actually built on a tiny island ... and I don't know if it's intended or not ... but i avoid the swimming zombies by sinking to the bottom and walking on the bottom ... i can hold my breath long enough to make it through.  Although, I haven't tried it with this latest 2 patches, been busy with work ... so maybe that's been fixed and they can swim down now.
There will be no lore released. There will be a game which you can see what was done and figure out the lore based on what we did.

Hey @Roland, any ideas of what we could do to make the screamer a bit more of a challenge?
Stop reading the patch notes about them and let them surprise you....

Seriously tho... I haven't given it much thought. Madmole is doing concept work for special infected right now so I doubt he will change what the screamer does to make it more challenging-- instead he is likely to add a new creature that has that more challenging ability in addition to what the screamer does.

Off the top of my head though I'd say that they could make her come out of your television hair first if you don't sell a copy of the game to someone else within 7 days....

Don't tease me, i would love to build a tv in my base, a couch with the sitting function, and watch her crawl out and then punch her in the face lol....

Only thing i would want added to her is a no matter what scream when she dies, that way no matter what you get at least 1 horde coming for you, aside from gamestage level i wouldn't mind seeing more zombies get called in by her, wishful thinking lol

And i cannot wait to see some of the concept art for the new special infected, more zombies equals more challenge

Id even laugh if sometimes the supply plane would fly over and drop a demolisher down in the world, like on an off day making you think what the hell was that

hell it would be cool if sometimes the plane would explode and special infected fall out of the plane and wander towards you, im weird like that though

There is ... or was ... a mod that triggered a horde whenever you opened a supply crate.  It made deciding whether or not to go for a supply crate a lot more ... interesting.  Do I want to starve to death or do I want to get eaten by a horde of really angry zombies?

(spoiler alert ... after triggering the first one and nearly peeing my pants I decided starving was a better option.  LOL)

if i were to mod my game that would be one to add, gives the little extra without losing the core fundamentals of the game

I think this is a bug but I was on day 7 horde which was short and after it was done I logged out. When I logged back in the horde restarted. Luckily I was close enough to my horde base to survive it.

not a bug actually, when you leave and come back to your world the horde restarts, its actually a normal thing

You're right, and there's really no need. We all know that Shamway caused the apocalypse. There's no use trying to hide it away from us tinfoil hat wearers any longer, just admit it. ;)

You have to wait until after morning starts to log out ... the horde can and will regenerate through the horde night.
