I really hope an idea similar to this is implemented.  It encourages exploration, encountering zeds, and offers a nice alternative to wrecking a straight path to the goodies.  As for the concerns over note destruction, I really don't care either way.  If they are destroyed, move on, or work the longer process of opening the hardened safe.  If notes are indestructible you could level a building to find them, but the cost and time to do so may not be shorter than trying to crack the safe or find the notes.

We're talking about engineering so a tiny percentage of the user base doesn't have to exhibit self control.

1, only guys with a ton of hour get to the point where they memorize POIS.
2, All you have to do is use some self control and just go through the POI as you would the first time. At the end of the day that shortcut feels cheap and you are just screwing yourself out of XP and thrill of clearing it the intended path. Yet its our problem to solve min maxer urges?

I'm not saying we won't implement it. I'm guilty of it myself, but after experience how cheap it felt nerd poling and going to the loot room I just quit doing it, and now the POIs are more fun.  I do think there are better things to spend our time on though.

Guys, you do realize those things madmole said were just ideas still in the conceptual stage none of which will be done in A19?  Seriously nerdpoling has been around forever and although they "could" probably nerf it to hell, it definitely hurts the minecrafter side of the game so at the end of the day its probably not even worth spending time on until they get through all of the other missing features...

 
The spear works as the primitive perception weapon.

Since fortitude is the brawler type, throwing random heavy objects like chairs and rocks thematically works as the primitive ranged option.

(this is before adding the increased draw the perk line has from the bonuses to resource gathering, It isn't forcing pepole to spec str, but damn if it isn't a mass of carrots that the other lines don't have)

I did start reading in the edits but after a while it became tedious.

I was asking WHY they were deleted, not how to read them.

If it's a forum bug or a moderation abuse I'd like to know, if you don't mind that is... *smh*
That was because I received a few private messages from a couple people I haven't talked to in years (not on here), stating that they did not want to see my messages on this forum any longer. (I've said a few regretful things in the past, but I'm trying to repair damaged ends.) Out of respect, I "deleted" all of them.

Edit: Out of respect for those individuals, and also due to the nerdpoling argument that took place yesterday (I don't do well under stress I suppose), I will seldom interact with others around here. When A19 hits, I do plan on posting a post under General Discussions where forum members can discuss A19, such as what their first blood moon horde was like, that awesome POI they just looted, etc. Other than that though, and other than reactions to some of the dev's posts, I will be taking a step back.

also if you set player block Damage to 50% you will love the long but open way to the loot^^

the survival horde crafting game

The key to the survival is 'the frame,' its the universal tool mandatory in any streamers guide to have in there tool belt. People want to talk about emersion breaking and there is everything the frame can do. I already made the meme.

Madmoles said his peace and that's the way it is, self-control is the answer.

I won't play multiplayer though. Co-operative and Player vs. player you'll never beable to match others speed looting and without some kind of safety like the keycard your going to get to the loot and someone else has already taken it.

Oh you can, but have fun smashing a 100k hit point titanium steel block or whatever it is.
Yes, that. Making a room with high hp blocks that only opens with said key card would be awesome.

I've always hated the indestructible blocks of the trader's POIs, maybe 100k respawnable blocks all the way to bedrock with an edgy trigger-happy npc guarding the place would make players think about it twice before performing a heist.

Though indestructible or not, I really think traders need a pitt with spikes for night time giggles (if unfenced).

 
Its an open sandbox voxel game..

You are supposed to build and break anything you want, nerd poles included.

Dont want it? Then dont do it.

and I thought spoilage was an insufferable subject..☹️

I agree with most of your points about it.  Best to save these good points for once they are ready to give MP some love.  MM said it himself in dev stream #4, he wants to take a good look at MP at some point, just not their main priority currently.

 
Why not just put the same protection on it as is on the trader POIs, even use the same high pitched NOPE noise when hit so a player immediately knows exactly what's going on, and that they cannot break into it.

Can that effect be applied to just one block? I'd imagine so, or if not then someone could make it so. Then it would need a key to open, or maybe an event trigger, like killing a boss, etc.
The way trader protection is done currently is via xml and applies to the entire prefab.

Alternatively, they can create bedrock type blocks that are indestructible but then that introduces exploitable blocks.  Maybe if it was only indestructible to players.... would require overhauling all of their prefabs yet again though...

At the end of the day probably a lower priority thing until all their other features are done.

I guess my question is that, is it more of a Repair a vehcile get to use it? or like a command block that turns blocks intoa vehicle cause to me the definition of that book series will be "oh i get to learn how to make the vehciles without BP's" in a book series which might give you a 7 book bonus of something like "now you can gas up at X% less cost" or something..which doesnt seem exciting. I hope its where we can make custom vehciles but not sure?

2: Spears just increases damage, durability, better range! craft steel spear. Etc

3: Brawler does more damage, better attacks, more stun! no bur when drinking beer!, more stamina after attack! etc

no book for vehicles yet!

edit: so i figure its just not deleted from the page for corrections yet? just figured it was still in since the update to that page was june 15th and vehicle a20 was way before that.

exactly.

the problem with nerd polling is that it's not a problem at all. dont like it? don't do it simple as that. people who are against that, argue that other players get to the loot faster so they end up empty handed. well, welcome to ONLINE gaming, if they want all the loot untouched online isnt for them.😏

Oh there's no point man, they want to rap this up easiest way possible if you look at the posts above they've chosen what kind of players they want to support and the balancing they are willing to do to. I'll just wait till the next project is fully released before deciding to buy it see where they go with it and this one I'll just settle for the single player.
