I like this flow. Good ideas.Have you thought about Gardening (Green Thumb) books? Maybe something like:1. Randomly get extra crops from a harvest
2. Efficient use of fertilizer – crops grow faster
3. Chance to get seeds from harvested crops
4. Unlock Corn Mash – super corn + grain alcohol = Strength rage?
5. Harvest all connected farm plots at once
6. Lawn Mower – clear 10 x 10 area of grass/plants in one hit
7. Plant all connected farm plots at once
Bonus - Bonus for all 7 = get 3 or 4 crops from each plot
The game is also not a sim. It has a tongue in cheek sense of humor. Would we actually farm using rotten flesh? No. Would anyone actually name their day care Poopy Pants or their gas station Pass-n-Gas? Sham is made out of paint and rotten flesh and gives 0% chance of infection. It's a joke. If you want a serious gritty sim of post apocalyptic life you will have to mod that in because it isn't the goal of the developers.
This guy gets it. A lot of legacy things have been removed because they don't fit in the current designs. They were done hacky, like sharp sticks was because we didn't have a menu crafting system yet, so users had to guess and you can only arrange planks in so many ways on the crafting grid so I made sharp sticks for arrows and spike traps. Once we got the menu crafting setup things like that were no longer needed. Some people just hate changes, and hate it when something gets removed, no matter how pointless it was, or how it doesn't fit or belong any more.I value your contributions to this forums and they generally are really helpful and offer insight and perspective.
However, in this case I disagree. It's not about iron ore, but in this case not about dumbing down either.
I generally agree that there is a worrying trend towards simplification and a specific loot and gun playstyle.
That said, having production steps for the mere sake of having steps is a pointless grind.
I am all for more variety and I enjoy complexity. I also hope that playstyles other than "loot, trade, shoot" are getting more love again. The variety of biomes and the randomness of their order are an element I sorely miss - but stones to sharp stones and similar steps don't add to the experience. Sure, I can change farming. dig up dirt -> plant seed -> plow again -> irrigate in regualr intervals. Might be more realistic, but is taking away from the gaming experience.
So yes, give us more books, more recipes, more complexity. But it all should add to the game. Iron ore, sharpened sticks ... do they add? If the just left it in I wouldn't have complained either, but if space is freed for other recipes by removing grinding steps, I am for it.
What question? I don't answer stuff I don't know the answer to or I've answered 500 times already, and I don't answer walls of text nor multiple questions. So you're going to ignore my question , in fact half the forum posts that hate the balance of this patch and act high and mighty?
I should have known better. The developers of this game give no 2 cents about what the community thinks unless it favors their decisions.
I could be arguing in my spare time.Hah, I didn't pay YOU. So why are you arguing?
I don't miss anything from past alphas. Well sometimes I wished for consumer Pcs to be powerful enough to keep up with our Pimp dreams, like an adaptative npc AI that improves when facing the player (like Shadow of Mordor) and real water physics. Truth be told, this game would not need more than a simple swimming animation on that last one, so my hopes are still up.This guy gets it. I searched your posts and found this. Sorry but I don't answer more than one question and certainly not walls of text. The short answer is game design/fun trumps realism, and the game needs some form of progression and gates. You can't have a massive farm on day 1. Sorry you can't craft everything, get off your ass and loot mechanical parts. I can assemble a car IRL but I need the parts.Madmole is it possible to add more realism in the game than removing it?-lucky looter is the god perk of A18 . It somehow makes the player to magically find three times more exotic loot than before instead of reducing search times
-farming requiring rotten ,infected meat to make plant pots. How watering plants ,hoeing the land and having a simple irrigation system is less realistic than finding dozens if not hundreds of cans in abundance in a zombie world infected by zombies and ravaged by scavengers for decades?
-Why we actually need 5 crops to make a seed instead of 1? How we can magically gather multiple times more crops from leveling up instead of crafting more fertile land to get those extra crops? Rotten meat <<< fiber ,soil and water << soil, fertilizer, fiber, paper and water
-How it's realistic to not being able to craft mechanical parts and springs which are the basis of a lot of electrical components?
-Why we need to loot steel parts when we can craft iron tools and weapons just fine?
-Why you keep removing the fun of building ,crafting and farming from the game and keep focusing on stupid ♥♥♥♥ing looting?
-Why you can be both the crafter and the good yielder of the weapon? Why a blacksmith is supposed to be almost equal to a warrior? Why did you combine crafting an item and efficiently using an item in the same bloody perk?
-Why we can harvest human corpses in POI's but can't harvest zombie corpses?
-Why we can eat literal infected zombie meat but we're not becoming infected in the process?
In short, why you keep reducing realism in the game, breaking immersion, making the game a forced looting simulator and completely disregarding the building elements of the game?
yeah i leard that the hard way lolI searched your posts and found this. Sorry but I don't answer more than one question and certainly not walls of text. Its in a good place and doesn't need a book set IMO.Have you thought about Gardening (Green Thumb) books? Maybe something like:1. Randomly get extra crops from a harvest

Quantum can you add to the faq that we're planning a localization update to the four supported languages this winter, and after that will will look at the challenges to Chinese, Portugese, Japanese and Russian? The Fun Pimps, Madmole, reading positive reviews on steam most players already want the translation into Spanish, being realistic the game does not even have 10% translated into the second most spoken language in the world, and we can not enjoy the game 100 % just for that reason please translate it and that all of us who bet on this game can enjoy it like all other buyers, A18 is brutal and we want it in Spanish to enjoy it with greater pleasure.
Keep up the great work guys.
Which survivor? We've added a female survivor to the cover artI really like the double-barrel shotgun for one reason: because finally the weapon the Survivor is holding in the Live Action Trailer exists in-game.
but mowing grass 10x10 would really be nice - have you ever had to clear a large area? we have a chainsaw, auger but no lawn mower. Its in a good place and doesn't need a book set IMO.
This oneWhich survivor? We've added a female survivor to the cover art![]()
new gardening is ♥♥♥♥, get a grip. who makes a plater box when you can dig up ground and plant directly into the soil. Its in a good place and doesn't need a book set IMO.
