This guy really wants to show how good he is at role playing a sleeper. I'm not fooled.

Nice t6 turret and m60....*drools*

Works as intended, the new shader has limitations. Use the adapative terrain filler and the ones we allow, like dirt/gravel.
If it is working as intended then I wonder why. Since if I place dirt on a road the dirt becomes asphalt, but still acts like dirt. That is confusing and should NOT happen. Pretty sure that is what he is referring to. The Microplut is what causes this, ignoring the actual block texture completely. I am hoping you will reconsider 'working as intended' and at least investigate to see if this can be improved.

MM These are the 2 poi’s I was referencing. I’m sorry I don’t know the official names but they are both A16 poi’s. In the first photo it’s tough to see the well since it’s surrounded by trees but you enter the well, replace one ladder piece that is missing & break up the wood spikes at the bottom. You can scavenge thousands of coins from wrenching all the computers.

The second photo you should more easily recognize. Enter the small building, break through the metal floor grate then descend the steps to the steel door. Not as much valuable stuff to scavenge but a very secure facility as a temp base. At least a random chance of some zombies in them would be nice considering their inherent value. Of course, maybe the designers had a reason for not putting them in. Just thought it was worth bringing to your attention.

Seems like this system could bring back Stun Lock again, since each hit you take makes taking the next more likely as moving away becomes harder. I could see a system working where having taken a hit within x seconds makes the next hit have a Higher chance to be a stun hit, factoring in the amount of damage taken from it and the force of the hit. Once stunned it all resets and you have to deal with being slowed for x seconds. Maybe the amount of slowed could start at almost 100% and then regenerate back to 0%. But at this time no hits will add more stun so you get the time to escape. Stun prevention effects could then instead make this decay faster so you are stunned for shorter times.
Also keep a mind on the interaction between stun and reload, both slowing the player down. In A17 and some experimental builds too, getting stunned while releading causes a brief negative speed and thus walking backwards. We do not want this to happen at all.
It could be changed to hits within a certain time period so extra zombies or fast-attacking zombies aren't totally OP. So one hit in like 4 seconds sets stun to 20% regardless of more hits, after those four seconds it goes up if you are hit again.

The poi everyone should look for near the beginning of the game is Carl’s Corn.....the one with Grace the pig. I got 3000 cement(mother lode 3) nearly a thousand cobble, roughly 6 or 7 broken workstations to wrench, several hundred meat, nitrate from farm plots, super corn, rotten meat, bones & fat from a couple dozen dead bodies on top of usual loot. Because of that poi, I had my reinforced concrete base up and functional by Day 7 plus plenty of food for a couple weeks.

That POi should be super rare, its probably one of the most loot and valuable packed POIs there is. If you get it for a quest and do it before reset, then probably have everything you need for a while.

Personally I think the well bunker could use some zombies but the other one is fine because there's really nothing of value in there anymore over a basic survivor house except for the one gun safe. But as far temp bases, literally any building with a flat roof is better than these POIs. Especially the big one because there are 300HP weak points all along those walls and roof that I'm sure were purposefully put in to make it not nearly as secure as it seems, go around smacking the walls with an ax and you'll quickly see what I mean. With zombies digging down a rooftop is much preferable.

Yes, probably true now with digging zombies. Before I get an official base, I tend to build off the side of a building or use a flat roof poi. In current game, we built a second floor off the front inside wall of the school complete with a mine beneath the school. We got lucky with an iron deposit under the floor. I like schools early on for clothes/coats and all the plastic needed for several bicycles.

I emptied it today and had the same thought. That POI should be guarded at least by a dozen demolishers... It's an open creative menu in game :D

They haven't been redone since A16 so yes, they should be guarded and the loot should be upgraded.

I like your angled railing setup. Its important to have a flank angle to throw grenades back towards your base when they get underneath you, so those will help.
yeah it's getting there. I want it to be modular. Definitely need a garage. The 4x4 is pretty awesome for expeditions. I do enjoy the 14 day hordes with 3 day variable. Gives a bit more time to explore. Each horde is a LOT harder though lol.

Hey Madmole!

So close to get the record for most players on Steam for 7 days to Die; it was missing 1108 to beat it. Maybe next weekend?

Anyways, it shows that people love A18; even reviews are going up on the positive again, which is so nice to see.

Great job guys!!!

I like the balance just fine. I see zero fun in crafting everything, we had it for 17 alphas.
Respectfully, I know you prefer looting over crafting, but as it is there is no balance between the two, weapon wise. Thats why so many people are saying crafting is badly nerfed. Just look at the comments in the feedback thread about it. And jut because you are bored of it doesn't mean it was a bad play mechanic...look at how much crafting is in Skyrim.

Finding gun parts is immersion breaking, finding a rusted out brown shotgun isn't.
But you have it set up right now to find gun parts in loot. I literally just got a crate with parts for 5 different weapons. (That I already own.)

If you hate weapon crafting so badly, why not just scrap them to iron or steel and remove the parts and weapon crafting completely? As it is, its simply not used by players and is a waste of game resources.

I can't recall even ONE comment where someone crafted a weapon better than already found, or ONE comment where someone crafted a weapon they didn't already have.

If I'm wrong, someone PLEASE mention your experience, because I'm just not seeing it at all.

A18 is a breath of fresh air after a17 but that doesn't mean its perfect, and doesn't mean current weapon crafting play value is of any significant value.

How to dupe a candle or torch. Place a torch down while pressing the key to drop the item out of your toolbelt.

how one could drive up the side of POI using motorcycle (this has been patched)

Fine the corner of a building so that the front tired gains traction against the building and have the rear tire touching another part of the building, hold gas and turn in to the corner and u will ride str8 up the building.

How to launch a motorcycle in the sky (has been patched)

Dig a hole bury the bike in the hole, it must be as tight as possible. press enter a million times (trying to get on it looks like the bike is convulsing) non stop until the bike goes launching str8 up in the sky. (warning your player can be launched waaaaay off map which will cause the game to bug out, cutting off all sounds etc.)

How to place a turret underground so that no zombie or player can see it or attack it. (patched)

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_Iero7gl6cOXUc_JAK8VKA both videos shwoing how its done...my first ever gaming youtube channel no longer used unless a video is needed to report a bug.

I cannot recall any other bugs....oh wait looking out from behind the eye balls. go into god mode..if i remember correctly, you gotta go in fly mode then change view and it places the cam behind the eyes balls....other than these i cannot remember talking about any other bugs. The rust of the bugs i did talk about can all be found in the bug reporting forum. I've been advised not to share my stories of gameplay so from this point forward i will stop psoting stories of how i play this game. I hope this clears up this misunderstanding and lies being told about me.

PS. I cannot give the steps for last years bug because i would need that save file, that has long been deleted so sorry i cannot prove that claim of mine. I also do not have that old discord account that had the conversation witht he tester anymore so i cannot even show that sorry.

Degradation would fix all that.

Oh i just remembered. As far as me testing heat a year ago. I do not have that old discord account anymore so i cannot prove it. But there is a moderator that was present if i remember correctly that seen what i said. I was in the QA discord channel and was a moderator and us moderators has a special channel thepublic could not see. only the devs and testers and the other 2 moderators. I spoke about heat in that hidden channel with the testers....can i prove it..no but maybe that discord moderator (i know u see this but i wont call u out) can say yes...i am telling the turth about testing heat and informing the testers. Hell it was the tester that taught me how heat works and how to test it..again i don't have that old discord to show the records of that conversation. I think thats it out of all the stories i have shared.

I think what makes it difficult is that you have no sense of the progression between one horde and the next. How much do I need to prepare for my second horde on day 27? I don't know. I'm not at all prepared because I have no idea what to expect.

That's what makes it fun. :)

I don't disagree that crafting needs some more incentive (not much, but some). That said, I crafted a T5 stone sledge pretty early, and kept it for a solid while before I found a T3 steel sledge. I even didn't use the steel sledge right away because I didn't have many repair kits (and no forge to make more).

Coming up, I might soon be crafting a better shotgun. The best I have found is a T3, and the stats are just mediocre. My next 5 points are going into shotties, so unless I loot a nice one soon, I will be making my own.

This is literally the first time I've seen anyone craft a weapon other than the stone spear or primitive bow and have it worthwhile. Thanks for the reply!
