Win 7 is currently used by 18% of the Steam playerbase.Thats not negligible.

Linux with <1% however is. (as client)

Well thanks for stats. I like those number.. they are rocks to me.

Alpha 34 is never happening lol.
Well if you can say Alpha 18 is never happening in 2013, then you can say this today :) . I don't mind getting alpha until I am alive :) .

Jerks indeed hah tricky zombies. I'll have to get screenshots of my base before I go on infinite horde night mode and it gets destroyed, it definitely could be incorporated into more elaborate builds. Next build i WILL BE having some sort of ariel protection. I am getting utterly sick of the damn buzzards rofl.
I didn't get a motorcycle this round, but I did just get the 4x4 which helped me amass resources. I feel you about books at traders, everytime I see one it's "Ooo piece of candy!". All of my duke coins are going in the forge for my horde runs though now, I've got what I need anyway.

Yeah I'll definitely be trying that. I like how you used the hill there with the drawbridge. Mainly, I get overwhelmed with the block-building because this is the first game I've ever played with block building, so I just need to practice - going to do so soon. I have no problem building bases that defend, nice looking ones that defend, on the other hand... lol
Google small minecraft castles for some simple ideas, then embellish for horde nights and add more than just cubes. Some pretty cool inspiration.

Thats what I do haha. Nice to see I am not the only one.

Well, attempt #1 to recreate the "zombies know where you are upon loading back into a game after logging off" was a failure.

However, when I logged out (again, night time) I had what sounded like 2 around me, but my little eye meter was showing 1. Now that I've logged back in, it's showing 10, and it did seem like they were alerted for a second, but I can't say for sure that it happened. Last time I logged back in and decided to grab a quick cup of coffee while waiting (I play 2 hour days, and wanted to not risk fighting what sounded like a horde at night) when it happened, so who knows? :apathy:

If we created a world in A18e, should we create a new one with stable? Or is there not enough changed to need to do that? Sorry if this has been answered, I looked and couldn't see it anywhere.

As far as I know, there were no changes between b155 and stable, so you will be able to upgrade, no updates needed. (:

After a good 32,000 hours of that, I hung up my guns, and got more interested in open world rpgs.
Same. I just can't get into them anymore, R6:Seige being the only exception in years, mainly because it's tactical far more than an adrenaline fest, and there is no jumping at all, god I hate that it FPS games, everybody is a damn cracked up rabbit. Just watched my son play the new COD, graphics are nice, etc, but it still has that same high paced, everybody moving stupid fast and constantly jumping, feel to it. I am done with that noise too.

7DTD is far more my pace these days, plus I love building, static map games have lost their appeal for the most part, just not impressive compared to a voxel world. Plus the graphic overhauls you've been making the past few alphas are bringing 7DTD close to the level of detail of other modern games. Keep it up!

I can't seem to get interested in any other game now. I bet it's been probably close to 2 years since I played anything other than 7Days. I have a handful of unplayed games that I've bought plus some games that I really want to buy but know if I get them now, I won't play. Not sure how long the addiction will last but I've been here since A6 and not even close to being tired of the game. I've played this game every night except during illness or out of town for several years. I've put many hours in other games but this one takes the cake. Thanks again for the addiction.

Same here. I have 16 purchased games waiting for me to even launch for the first time. It's ridiculous.

Its coming along, not quite 100% your design any more, I'm going taller and doing a castle like look. Is it 12x12? I'm still confused about that crafting wall because I can't fit everything under it, I'm one block short.
Here it was before horde night, It has a roof now mid day on day 22.
Very nice~

The base is definitely 12 x 12. I used some clever construction techniques to get all the crafting stations to fit. The crafting stations go right up to where you'd think to place a wall. The actual wall is the ramp blocks overhanging the pit, part of the pillboxes. Another thing I did to make for more room is make the wall opposite all the crafting stations out of iron sheets. That's why the base looks more roomy than one might expect it to.

Special K, like the cereal, because he makes cool bases.
Heh, Special K. I like it.

For those that missed the original post, here's two of the screenshots from it.

Hey @MM with the slowing down of progression some, albeit a few players may be upset at how long it takes to unlock skills. I was wondering if a slider for "skill points per lvl up" in the main settings ever could be a thing that you would consider putting it in? so like every time you get 2 skill points per lvl or whatever the slider would allow.

Are long shadows taking a lot of performance? If they do, it might be better to shut off shadows casting earlier.
They take up as much performance as I would expect them to. I think they are fine, already clamp their angle and would look bad disappearing earlier.

I get a solid 60+ fps on a 1080ti at 1440p. Sad that a 2070 can't keep up. Odd that 4k drops so much though. Going from 1440p to 4k causes my FPS to collapse to 28-35 fps on average.
Vulkan on Linux also yields some decent performance, but it's buggy.

Both on Ultra settings.
Generally nVidia GPUs within a generation are as fast as one tier higher in the last generation. A 2070 is similar to a 1080, but you have a ti, which is faster.

4k is x2 the pixels of 1440p, so if it was fillrate bound and running at 60 at 1440p, then 4k would run at 30.

Unity 2019.1 has several Vulkan bugs. When we update to 2019.3, hopefully around the end of the year, maybe it will run without crashing.

so is A18.1 B2 EXP considered STABLE or still EXP? I got it while setup to download Latest EXP.
some servers are confused and calling it STABLE and not EXP
If you have to opt into it in Steam's game properties beta tab, then it is old or experimental. Latest stable you would always get by default, without opting into anything.

A18 b155 stable is the exact same files as A18 b155 exp. 99% of the time if something changed, it would have a higher version and or a higher build number.

You could just play with 200% XP, so you level up twice as fast. It will be harder, since your game stage will also go up faster, but many settings can be changed to compensate (lower game difficulty, lower AI block damage, lower AI move speeds, lower max alive, higher loot percent).
