Been a while since I played this game. A18 is pretty good, really enjoying it.

Not sure I like the melee speed change on some of the weapons though, the knife in particular. It was quite fun for the power attack and wasn't that bad a weapon. The knife felt right earlier and yesterday now it seems that bit too fast now and overly weak.

 
One thing that I would love to see is more visibility for the Blunderbuss. I have never found one in game and I didn't even think of it till I happened to read about it on the forums. It is the only firearm that you can make as soon as you get the pars. But a player may toss it once they get another firearm.

I think that it would be great if you could find it in a nearby stash like that old house the player always starts near at.

Or maybe as a reward to finishing the starter quest.

Maybe an optional quest to make one so players know that they have that option.
Did you try the new update? Day 2 and thats all I have is 2 lvl 2 blunderbuss, I think I got them both out of backpacks

There was ammo with them and everything (I dont remember ever looting one before this except maybe many many alphas ago.)

To be fair I did run around for a whole day chasing honey in stumps because I got infected immediately

The meat slicing is so fast!Knives in general seem like a fun way to go.

It's gonna take me a few game days to adjust to the melee speed. Not so much with regular attack, but the power attacks.

Did the rage and super rage get a tweak? I don't see anything about it in the notes, but I swear something is slightly different. Seems just a tad faster and overall seems to last longer. Then again it might just be the game running better and better.
Ya, I thought the same. I started up a Survivalist playthrough and fighting was a bit more dangerous than all my other a18 playthroughs.

They do seem like they are either hitting better or up in your face faster. or both, cant put my finger on it

 
Well, B155 exp has sorted out all my performance issues.

I was formerly quite CPU limited, but it's flowing smoothly in b155, without having to resort to any of the tweaks previously mentioned (of which, "gfx st forceload" was by far the most effective in my case).

I suspect knives will need a bit more tweaking. The anim is very fast, but the damage done is feeble... altho I am using a tier 1 knife with zero perks.

Next step may be to try lifting my gfx settings to see how much more my system can cope with. Even if I can't lift things, it looks pretty sweet as it is now.

As an aside comment, prior to b155 I allowed a screamer to summon a horde that eventually numbered 60 Zs alive.

The dogs were struggling to complete their pathing to me, but it was otherwise a good bit of fun, more reminiscent of A13 action... and I smacked them all to death. Sweet!

 
The problem is everything is too bright.-snip-

When we remaster zombies we could add extra pieces to the model that can be disabled when building the prefab to make someone look a bit different. Hair, missing limb, etc.
welp. I see what you mean, I tries to have a go at it on photoshop, tinting it and tries to darkening it. I was expecting it look a bit more washout colour like the current zombies clothes pallete, but it end up looking like I'm making a children book :biggrin-new: .

hoping the zombies rework making it feel like there a lot more zombies and good luck on that.

 
Well, this sucks. I was in the middle of horde night when my PSU had a power surge, which never happened before. After reconnecting all my wires I start up the game only to find my save got corrupted =( . It reads A 0.0 and broke the game so bad I can't even delete the file or click anything. So after Alt-4ing I try to verify the files. Didn't work. I uninstalled and am reinstalling the game as I write this. Hope this works.

Too bad, I had big plans for my base; even cataloging it along the way. RIP didn't even get a chance to paint it :upset:

Well I paid a lot for my name, the dang Trademark on Mechanimal cost me over $4k, not that I use it much these days... aside from forum titles it seems.

Even weirder was how stupidly impressed people were to see the piece of paper with the fancy shiny sticker on it I got, like nevermind the cutting edge robotics stuff, would you just look at that shiny sticker from the gov'ment people that own us. Kinda lost interest in it after that, now all it seems to do is spawn mutated Guppycur clones in an online forum about a game I love because it helps me forget about "real" life, whatever that is. Now back to prepping for Night 42...

I've always wondered why/ how some folks had one grey dot and others a green one when they had the same number of posts etc.

There are so many posts/ pages in this forum it has almost made it impossible to find the info.. I can barely keep up with this particular thread alone, on a daily basis.

Oh and for those talking about safe crafting - as far as i can remember we've been able to craft them since back when food smell was still in the game.. I think tungsten was still in then too.

Anyway it's a long time ago. (Maybe as far back as alpha 8 (2015?) .. that's when I think we started playing anyway). :)

We've always played as a group and we used to craft the big gun safes for our weapons.

The small safes were for personal storage.

Ya, I'm actually really concerned that my PSU will cut out during work or a recording session than losing another game. It's crazy because I just got this PSU about a year ago (CX750M) and it's already acting funny.

Anyone else finding random Screamer spawns in the wild? I'm running across them everywhere.
Not sure if you placed a torch or not, but the torches are really messed up.

According to xml, and in my tests, they adding 1% to heat per minute. A single torch is like 20 times worse than a forge.

Madmole said he fixed it, but this is in the current build. The candles are really good, so maybe he just missed the torch. Not sure.

Posted a bug report.

Today, I just found my first blunderbuss on Day 1: Tier 5 no less, with 0 in Lucky looter. Then I found a tier 3 blunderbuss on the same day! I killed a rabbit with one and then sold them both lol.
