Please don't take away the Jack o lanterns.
Though for Christmas I want Zombie Santa Claus that always drops a sack of goods. A Christmas tree and every trap from Home Alone for my BM base.
ZOMBIE SANTA is the Pimp zombie!

Complication is a slippery slope. The important thing to consider is how rewarding the activity is. So building a vehicle is more complicated than a stone axe, because it is much more rewarding. Complicating things to the point where its tedious and its just clicking stuff over and over again isn't good. So I always say KISS, but its ok to have some depth to later game activities that are more rewarding.
I can see some value in Guppy's degradation proposal, but that by itself I would not like very much.

In order for me to appreciate that kind of complexity, I would need an equally complex system going in the positive direction.

If repair kits degrade weapons and lower their stats, then I would want methods or items to enhance them as well... for instance, an upgrade kit. Other things I would want in order to feel like this is worth its complexity is that weapons would have to be rare and/or you can only find/craft level 1 weapons and you must slowly upgrade them to level 6 with high stats.

With all that in place, I would truly feel like my weapons were my babies. I nurtured them into maturity myself. But without all this, degradation alone I would just see as unnecessary complexity without any real reward for having to put up with it. In other words, a PITA.

Your base is massive.
And ever evolving. ;) I'm planning on mining another 400,000 stone within the next two weeks to continue its expansion. I'm continuing to cut down all the trees in the area to fuel the forges as well. I'll be spending the next three days doing nothing but mining iron. Back to work!

Has anyone encountered a bug where raw resources get a modded symbol and cannot be used? Such as, potassium nitrate with the modded symbol cannot be used to craft gun powder. I fixed it by putting the stack with the symbol on top of a stack without the symbol.

Mining perk book ideas anyone to replace the craft ore bundles thing?
A couple of ideas off the top of my head (some are more like skills, but I really think they are cool :smile-new: ):

Pioneer - enables the player to locate ore deposits on mini map (maybe within a 100m range or something like that?)

Marketeer - enables the player to be able to trade ores at a trader and/or run shipments for profit

Excavator - enables the player the ability to build a mine shaft to automate mining from underground to surface into storage

For future if oxygen becomes a feature in mines:

Hold your breath - breathe underground for longer periods of time or doesn’t affect you

If we do there will be the next season goodies to replace it.

Yeah agreed, the upgrade method now (find another one) works fine for me. I like looting.

Good luck with that, the more time you spend mining and not looting your brass supply will go down. We didn't have duke smelting when I played my last late game so maybe its easier now.

Hi everyone, is anyone else experiencing their backpack disappearing? It's happened to me twice. After I die, I go back to collect my backpack but it's no longer their. The first time I could see the back pack icon but couldn't find the actual backpack. It was in a house with multiple floors but I looked on all of them. The second time there wasn't an icon but I marked it with a save flag. Still nothing...

idk if it is still true in a18, but backpacks disappear after 30 minutes if the chunk they are located in is loaded (If any player is the same chunk or area of the map) If it was far away and nobody was around it would usually stay up forever.

Also if you died in a mine collapse or a zombie had unfortunate timing and took a swing as your backpack appeared, your backpack could get destroyed.

In addition, if you die on a slope the backpack could slide down the slope but the marker would remain in place.

All these things could happen pre a18, idk if they can all still happen in a18

If I have to, I'll resort to doing 1-2 T5 quests over the course of a day or two, and then smelting down half/all the dukes I earn. But yes, you are right; I have to travel to faraway towns just to wrench cars now.

Edit: For example, I could either buy 100 7.62 ammo for over 2,000 dukes, or I can smelt down those 2,000 dukes for 1,000 brass bullet casings. So in a way, buying bullets, for example, is a detriment now.

This is tangential... AT BEST... but can you post some videos of your claimed lifts? High rep 300lb+ rows, 400+ squats, etc.?

I've been a strength coach for 14 years so I have been diligently practicing not taking lifters' claims at face value for, well, over a decade now. I want to believe, I want to be like Neo at the beginning of the first Matrix, ie, "He's beginning to believe", but until I see a video I can't help but think... nah dog... that shiz is highly inflated.

I'm 6 beers deep so... with all due respect... your game is amaze-balls regardless... etc. etc. etc. etc.
