For day 5 I increased to 120 min days and 75% AI block damage, since day 4 BM seemed a bit easy with 50% block damage.
Now:

24 hour cycle - 120 mins

BM freq - 1 day

Zombie night/feral/BM speed - Run

AI block damage - 75%

Loot abundance - 50%

Loot respawn - 15 days

BM count - 4 enemies

Mark air drop - on

Day 5 was a fun BM. Defending the kitchen of Berserker Bills. They came in from 4 spots, so i had to keep patching up holes. Stabbing through holes. Dropping spikes. Jumping on the ladder when they got in, then dropping down and power attacking in the back to bleed and retreat. Repeat. Used my bow a bit. No need for junk turret.
I was actually thinking of adjusting my time settings up as well, maybe to 90min instead of 60min. I feel as though with all the schematics now in A18 I’m making it very hard on myself to progress with such little time to loot. Most of my day goes to building up for next horde.

Aw man that sounds pretty intense, are you making a base/horde base out of berserker bills or you just got caught there right before BM?

 
On this workbench discussion, would it be possible to make it a permanent item for sale at a trader? In my current game, I went to three different traders looking for one for sale but no luck.

Just a thought.

Fair enough, but stone arrows are still pretty worthless now other than the starting quest. aybe they could be dropped from it and use the resources for something else?

Also if we are lucky enough to get a schematic that a perk also unlocks, shouldn't that perk also unlock because it is gating other perks? (For example, I found the bike schematic, but still have to buy it in order to unlock the minibike.)
Stone arrows are very detrimental and not worthless, we need a range weapon early on. Some people don’t have a forge until day 11 searching for the schematic instead of putting a point into it, so they can’t craft the iron tips. So if you have bad RNG with guns your screwed and stuck with melee.

thats true. nearly any melee or ranged weapon is useful

After a hundred hours in single player mode, I confirm that alpha 18 is phenomenal. I have tested very different characters and the game is incredibly addictive every time.

But hey, you already knew it...

Since about twenty hours, I play with friends on a server. It is consensual and friendly PVP, but there is a need to progress quickly to be effective. No forge or no workbench after 5 or 6 hours of play? You are dead.

So ... I was wondering if the following would be an issue for gameplay : allow players to spend a skill point to unlock a recipe, at any time. As, for example, in the screenshot below:

I self-quote because I forgot 2 things:

- it could be 2 points instead of one ...

- this would allow to remove the books from traders' stock. Traders should not sell schematics : eventually, it hurts their business because we don't need their items anymore :) . Those guys are supposed to be clever : they are the last survivors...

idk they always have something i want to buy there (mostly mods and bullets) even if i can craft them cuz im lazy!

Yeah I'm not a fan of night time, but to each his own. To me its too easy having all the time to loot and not have the pressure of running zeds at sundown.
I was just speaking to @faatal about it, maybe I should go back to 90min days. This alpha is completely revamped and isn’t like alpha 17... It’s better. I might have to say A18 is the best alpha so far.

But yeah I need more time to loot, I watch YouTubers and streamers and they seem to have way more schematics and progression than I do. I do like the thrill of not having time to bs as I said before but I also want to experience the new looting of A18 as well.

IMO i think that Night time should be "the hunt for XP"

cuz on normal nights zombies give a bit more XP and i think some special zombies would only come out at night! like a zombie that that is very strong but he fears light! , one they really fast and has glowing red eyes etc

i wont get to deep into it cuz i could take up the whole page!

I had a spitting vulture on day 3. Killed me dead! I thought that was a bit unfair for the first week.
Oh, and I haven't been reading much about faults, but I had just logged in and everything that could have an 'health' was down to 0 and needed repairs. Definitely not how I left it. Not sure about re-creating it. It was about day 3 as well and I had a fire going boiling water at the time, it was night and I was stuck on a bridge with 2 vultures circling and 1 zombie camping out, waiting for me to come down.

Otherwise, I'm enjoying it! Until I get to making my farm, anyway. Great job for everything else, guys!

i found a few in the wasteland! never found him in bloodmoon!

i almost crapped myself when i saw a vulture as big as a mini bike! and he was puking thx!

hell i didnt know they even exist

I agree with this concept, you know how we have feral whites? What about we have all black ferals with red eyes that only come out at night time.

Red eyes so they can be spotted but are still hard to see ...make them almost like demons/spirits with no walking sound so the jump scare is real once they sneak up on you. You’d have to always be on look out for red eyes. This would make night time more scary for the night looters/miners.

With a weakness of light so if you equip a torch or use headlight/flashlight they run away. Like you said I can go all day about this... good idea bro.

I have a small QOL request. If a player chooses to turn off "Journal Popups" can the flashing pen be turned off also. Its a small annoyance to have to click through all the journal entries just to stop the flashing pen.

na im talking about something like a mutated Feral/ night prowler

they are bigger , and have bone plates on them acting like armor , they can jump really high or far, they have 4 sharp claws, but they will try to avoid light's! like lamp post! not fire! but if in the presents of light they lose there armor! and if they die they drop 2000 xp!

also with the red eyes they would have big glowing ones

kinda like a owl's eyes!

and with the other zombie

the "Night stalker"

these zombies look almost raw to the bone! and have 3 sharp claws and are kinda weak however they move in packs and if they see you they scream! and will basically mark you so any nearby zombies will come to attack.

they move very quick but there much weaker then the "night prowler"

Night stalker are the kinda zombie wear you go (oh crap)

night prowler you will be praying not to find one even in higher levels

do you guy plan on reusing the behemoth model for a new zombie?

(to make myself clear. ik the behemoth was cut from the game but the model is still good and do you think you guys will reuses it or just scrap it!)
