All right, I’ll give that a shot. Nomad 64, once again. I’ll build right on top of an iron node and get dart production going as quickly as possible.

i live in diersville and i builded a mine under one of the houses!

and i found some much lead idk what to do with it! no iron , no coal, no nitrate JUST LEAD!

i have some much lead i could make a radioactive proof base!

Pimps !

After a hundred hours in single player mode, I confirm that alpha 18 is phenomenal. I have tested very different characters and the game is incredibly addictive every time.

But hey, you already knew it...

Since about twenty hours, I play with friends on a server. It is consensual and friendly PVP, but there is a need to progress quickly to be effective. No forge or no workbench after 5 or 6 hours of play? You are dead.

So ... I was wondering if the following would be an issue for gameplay : allow players to spend a skill point to unlock a recipe, at any time. As, for example, in the screenshot below:

Don't beat me if my idea is bull♥♥♥♥: I'm a friendly dead horse.

i fell your pain! about ideas!

Some recipe-related skill points (like unlocking the forge) being almost a must grab because you can't find the schematic seems to indicate that it's either a bad idea that they are gated this way in the first place, or that there should be alternative ways to obtain those schematics.

What if traders could teach you some of the more basic schematics? Say each one of the individual traders had different specific knowledge, and you could pay money to learn from them, either with a new dialogue menu option or simply by guaranteeing that the trader will always sell that one schematic in his/her inventory.

This way, depending on the trader that you start next to, your playthrough would be different since you'd be able to focus on something else other than what they teach you (or specialize harder into it since you saved a point).

I just don't want Madmole to jump in a plane and come ringing at my door...
he's done that to me. but he came over with a quad barrel shotgun!

lets just say he was not pleased! LOL

AKA the first post i ever man on here!

I just played the lasted experimental and the club heavy attack swing thru is back! Not too many people liked the swings that stopped halfway thru.🙏🙃 not sure if any game devs listen more than madmole & the fun pimps ! Keep it up.

I was looking for a new trader yesterday and I just figured out I was driving past it for a long time and thought it was one of those radio tower junk yard poi’s things. Maybe land marks should have pre installed marker icons on maps. Not every building but key ones such as traders, shotgun messiah factory, the popping pills factory, the huge crack a book building, paper mill, you get the idea.

Day 49, 90 minute days, Nomad difficulty, 24 max alive. The difference between this horde and the previous one was as drastic a difference as between night and day. The floor was submerged in a sea of glowing, irradiated green, pounding its way into the concrete walls of my compound. There were cops aplenty, and puking vultures too, and from just five minutes in, I knew I was going to get my teeth kicked in. "I'll just do some exploration and questing after this horde", I had said before. But there will be no time for celebrations or relaxing road trips.
They breached my base fairly early on and caused some fairly serious havoc. Towards the middle of the massacre, several demolishers spawned, one after the other, forcing me to abandon ship on numerous occasions to face them in the battlefields beyond. I went through over 3,000 ammunition of various types (AP, HP, and regular), as well as almost a dozen contact grenades and 20 frag rockets.

When the night went quiet, my heart continued to pound. I am shaken, still recovering from this horrific onslaught. They tore my base a new one; double thick reinforced concrete walls were not enough to withstand their incredible might. But I prevailed. My almighty weapons - Sally, my T6 AK-47, Becky, my T6 M60, and Rocket, my T2 Rocket Launcher - held them back with overwhelming firepower. But at a terrible cost. For the next seven days, I will have to rebuild, repair, fortify, and upgrade. I sense I have only gotten a taste of things to come. The nightmare fuel has started, and I am in no way prepared for it. God speed anyone who has made it this far.
Reading your post and mulling over what happened my last 2 days of hard farm and loot: the Rad Remover I got yesterday is a foreshadowing (I'm very close to day 42). Day 35 wasn't cheap already: 500 7.62mm, 55 exploding bolts, 25 exploding arrows, 35 pipe bombs and 35 molotovs.

You might have missed MM saying he wants to give a 20% change to all destroyed workstations to give you the workstation schematic. Still random but a lot easier to hunt for then.

The forge definitely is not gated, except when someone wants to swim in his perk points like Dagobert Duck. :cocksure:

Yes, sure, perk points are valuable and it hurts paying them for something you might loot any minute. On the other hand time is money. You are saving a lot of time paying that one perk point. In my last game I waited 4 days to find a working forge, then bought the perk instead of wasting more time. And someone else reported he refused to pay the perk point and has an "interesting" time playing. Can't make cobblestone? Loot and buy it.

the only bad experience i had with a18 was when my entire reinforced stone 7x7 3rd floor roof garden collapsed, after i removed 1 wood block from my bedrock mine that is 30~ blocks under my house.

some weird SI bug ? luckily i had a recent save backup to restore to so i didn't lose much progress. :)
Not a bug, SI is only kept for uninterrupted blocks down to bedrock. All miners eventually learn that digging under your base creates redecoration costs. :cocksure:

i got a massive mine of lead under diresville thing is 99% lead. and i mostly dig with dynamite and i think that it my mine may collapses!

Yes, it seems lead mines are very common, also in RWG, not sure whether that is intentional.

Now try the following: Go into one of the POIs directly above your mine and destroy a few wall blocks. Maybe nothing happens, maybe the house collapses around you. Great fun :smile-new:

well the thing is i blew up the basement of a house and just make a mine there!

and if i do that then my house will go with it ill try to put up support beams!

also if i could build a base out of lead i could make a radiation proof castle! lol
