Yep, consequence of the change to durability. Short fix is to start a new game or cm in some repair kits.Just started a saved game after the update, EVERY SINGLE item I have that has a quality is "broken" and needs fixed. This happen to anyone else?

Its the standard default map size. You spend so much early game time on foot or on bicycle that you don't migrate much. Once you get the minibike you travel further, but by then you are acquiring materials for base building, which takes a lot of time. Once you get the motorcycle, you can really explore, but mine wasn't until like day 50. I'd only found one trader who only had a motorcycle once for 5x the cash I had, and I never found any vehicle parts at all in loot drops. (Kind of surprising, ut then I also never saw any compound bow parts or an auger, and only found 3 auger parts. How large was the map? If you remove the unplayable area at the borders of a 4k map, you end up with approximately 3490 x 3490. I ask because if you split the 4k map into quarters, then each of those in half, you will be passing through a biome every 870 meters, approximately. To me, it's just not enough space.
1. it's called players getting ahead or using their brain. They are supposed to outsmart something dead.Yeah we've talked about it, its a bit tricky because the player has such an advantage.
This is completely and totally true. As I said before pretty much any challenge in the game can be overcome via careful pulls/kiting and sheer amounts of resource farm. Last horde ended with me desperately meleeing out of all ammos, tanking hits with fortbites to keep my final block from being broken. That scared me so I sacrificed scavenging time to dedicate one day to pure farm and started scrapping quality 2 stuff instead of selling them.Yeah we've talked about it, its a bit tricky because the player has such an advantage.
can't record so just streaming it lol. someday I will learn to edit and record properly.Record that epic battle for us!!!!
Ahhh ok cool. I didn't see what was fixed, what was fixed?Yep, consequence of the change to durability. Short fix is to start a new game or cm in some repair kits.
I use a desktop microphone for team chat... I have an old USB mic by Logitech, but they're not making them any more so they're expensive now. Should be others out there though.I can't wear headphones for a hundred hours, my ears hot flash and I feel miserable for about 2-3 hours afterwards unless I don't record any vo, but that isn't very fun to watch. I need some ac headphones lol.
My setup is triple 1440p monitors at 144hz. I run the game in windowed fullscreen, getting 80+ fps consistently (even in snow biomes). Ultra settings except I turn off things like bloom and motion blur because I don't like them in general.Anyone else running 1440p 144hz with good results? I only ask cuz most of the post are negative regarding fps. Running 1070ti
I7 7700k
16gig ram
Game on ssd
No issues inside 70-100 fps
In town or on motorcycle 50-60
Staring into distant terrain 35
Everything max accept shadows med and shadow dist medium
I hear all that. I don't think smaller biomes solves any of those problems though. Its the standard default map size. That random stuff though changes how we play, which is why we love the game.
Instead of doing builds by the different types, I'm adjusting my builds based off the loot I find.
I was really getting tired of the depressing burning biome, and wanted to find at least one more trader in a more pleasant biome.
(I wouldn't mind the more natural biomes put back in, reducing the amount of ugly burning lands and the uglier wasteland. I miss the pine forest and though I was never fond of the plains, at least t added more biome diversity.)
I also miss the smokiness of the burning lands... I remember not being able to see far, and how closed in and tense it felt. Now it just looks depressing.
IMHO a15 and the old a16 socket system generated more interesting worlds than a18 has so far. They had more biomes, smokiness in the burning land, the frogs in the forest, caves, and we had more zombies outside as well.
A18 has some interesting land masses like the buttes, but larger bodies of water are gone, we lost half our biomes, and he world is very empty outside. Loneliness would set in if it wasn't for the new music addition. Most the action has moved inside of pois now.. I love that, but miss so much of what we used to have. We used to have a completely random world generator, and now we have a bunch of premade stamps that get scattered around like the buildings.
I don't care if generating a world takes a half hour if I'm going to spend 100 + hours in it, and as we've seen, several pregenerated worlds can easily be included so we don't have to completely generate new worlds.
Some things are great improvements forward, but its at a cost that I'm sometimes not sure was worth it.
like snowdog i helped myselfstill stuck on 0,0% anemia after using a blood draw kit...
