FYI - @Fatal - when testing Graphics/FPS. I notice that the AF tweak (turning off) does not help in snow biome.
in desert/forest I get 60FPS solid. in Snow I drop to 5-20FPS. I can just look at snow biome and it tanks.

GTX 1060/6GB on I7/7700K at 3.4G and 32GB of RAM and 2x 512 EVO SSDs.
I'ts no wonder these fps dips are so hard to find. i'm running the same graphics card but on an I5 6400 2.7G with 16 gig of ram and a standard hard drive. Snow biome ran like butter for me.

I did set my graphics card to turn AF off and had to change my monitor from 4k to 1080 but since then game is running like a dream and looks great.

This is what I changed on my card. Occasionally I'll dip to 30 fps or so but it only lasts a few seconds and I don't notice any stuttering.

AF - Forced "OFF"

Texture Filtering Anisotropic Sample Optimization "ON"

Texture Filtering Quality "Performance"

Thank you kind sir!!! I will use this and see what impact it has.
Edit: noticed your 1st post on the forums. Welcome!!!! 😎
No problem glad I could help! Thanks for the welcome. Been lurking sense A15 finally took the time to register.

hmmm interesting, I can think of one test that will 100% prove if this is a valid work around. brb in about 30 minutes with my findings.
EDIT: might take 45-50 minutes as I have to DL all the files to run a dedicated.

Nevermind as I cannot remember the seed I used when I had the honeycomb bug so I cannot run test. :(

Honestly do not feel like searching for one, rather play the game lol

if you find a seed that can produce the bug let me know

BTW while generating a map in game there seems to be much more CPU usage GPU *shruggs*

@Laz Man Drop in FPS snow biom

So I was checking out the snow biom to see if my FPS dropped. Indeed it did, it went from 45fps to 20-25fps.

Upon further investigation into as to why this is happening, at least from what can be easily seen.

I think I figured out why FPS drops in the snow biom. From the looks of it, from the one area i looked at and compared to an in forest biom, FPS is dropping due to the more (excuse incorrect terminology) exaggerated wireframes of the ground compared to say forest biom ground.

Its taking a lot of processing power from the GPU in order to render the ground due to it not being smooth.

*shruggs* well thats what I see from 5 minutes of trying to figure out what is dropping the frames lol..

EDIT: I have more ideas of what could be the reason behind it but needs more in depth testing to see if those are plausible causes.

so the hordes do last all night once you get to a certain gamestage.

just finished day 35 horde. gamestage 124, level 55 and difficulty at nomad and max alive for blood moon is 16. lots of cops, wights and oddly enough dogs. decent amount of glowing zombies. I did not see a demolisher though.

I guess for my day 42 horde I will finally see one which means I have to get my collective crap together and actually build proper defenses instead of 4 rows of barb wire fence and calling it a day with about 1200 rounds of 7.62 AP ammo. guess my streams will now get boring with resource collecting for ammo and building blade traps.

I mention heat but not needed to attract her & yes she is very easy to kill. She is like a little mini blood moon that is constantly spawning no matter what you do.I just have 2 blocks with one for a chest & campfire & my bag, no base.

No torches, candles, nothing cooking, no forge yet but I come back from looting cars & nests, etc. open a chest & here she comes again.

It eats up all your supplies, especially arrows & lets remember they are harder to kill now also. I dropped down Warrior to Nomad & they still take almost the same amount of arrows to kill them. I like a challenge but if you spend all your time fighting the same Z & all Z's that come with her & again I am talking Early Game Level 1 Weapons. Yea you get stronger better weapons & so what, she spawns way too frequently in my opinion for barely any reason. I think you should change how she spawns because I have no problem with the Spider. He Screams, is harder to kill with the new jumps & I like that a lot.

The only difference between the 2 is 1 doesn't spawn all the time.
There is no way a screamer will spawn with what you are describing. I built a 10x10 base and upgraded a lot of blocks, etc and mine constantly and have never spawned a screamer. It takes 2 forges, 4 torches and a campfire about 12 hours to get one to come, and once you kill her it will take a long time again to get the next one. Are you cutting down 500 trees in that area?

@MM
So, just played through day 8 & I have some questions and observations.

Why, suddenly, is canned food the go-to? with the stroke of an alpha you have rendered hunting and gathering obsolete due to the poisoning nature of the foods. Why would a fresh kill of cooked meat be a source of food poisoning? Why is boiled water the same? Doesn't make sense.

I feel like weapons are *way* too easy to get. By day 6 I had 3 junk turrets and 2 #3 AK's, not including the various melee weapons. I feel like the "survival" portion of the game has been nerfed big time. It's a shame that there's no need to farm, gather eggs, hunt game, or really go into buildings. we find all we need and more just looking in trash and cars.

How does it make any sense to me that frames and glass can be "morphed" into all those various shapes. It's like the only reason those changes were implemented was to make base building faster. Again, immersion breaking IMO.

I know there was some sort of dust up about repair kits before a18 dropped, (I really didn't pay much attention), so forgive me if this was explained previously, but what sense does it make to use a repair kit to fix a club or an ax? Guns, yes. A knife, ummm ok, I guess. But a club is just a stick of wood. What would the repair kit for it contain...another stick of wood?

The game looks great and runs slick as a whistle, congrats there. But I feel like the decisions behind the game-play are a mystery to me.

Can you enlighten me?

Died in a large crack a book. The backpack icon shows on the compass, however there is no backpack to be found. Look on top of the building on all the floors. Any ideas?
Turn on god mode and clip through walls to find it.
