Alright it's time we address this & fix it...

I am talking about the Screaming Banshee Witch & Why is a Witch part of a Z Game anyway...

Burn her at the Pointy Stick I say...

It's the same problem as every other Alpha since she was introduced into the Game.

You can not even open up & sort your Chests without hearing her Screaming, Constantly...

There is 1 Predictable Outcome in this Game & that is this Witch will show up every time you Think you are being QUIET or using Stealth.

If I could turn her off I would just like the Blood Moon if I want to. I set mine at 30 days & that is the perfect time for me to build a Base without C/M or using the Inventory.

I would tie her & the Spider to Wandering Hordes as Scouts, maybe increase the Spawn Rate of W/H's. It just seems you could get away with a little more of a Heat Signature during the heat of the day. Heat should register more during the cool of the night or in a Snow Biome.

She takes all the fun out of the Game for me when she is just a Constant Nuisance, She is like this Every Alpha...

Everyone, over & over again she constantly Spawns...

Or let the heat die down

I called one with my single forge. Turned it off for half a day. Now i run it a few hours, and turn it off a few hours have not seen one since. Everything you do in the chunk you are in builds the heatmap. You need to plan better. Are you running several forges, mining and running a workbench at the same time? Are you using loud guns as well, all within a short period of time? The chests are not doing it themselves, there has to be a huge build up of heat. Ive seen one screamer in 18, and NONE in vanilla 17. But i also dont mass run several stations at once, plus build and use guns in a single hour.

Even chopping trees can call one if you let the heat map build up high enough.

I do like the new POI's & looting them is so much better without a ton of Sleepers chasing you out.

Real nice balance...

Yes I agree lets address the colour you write in lol. I have perfect 20/20 vision and that colour is annoying LMAO to read.. there issue addressed haha

If anything, heat can use a tune-up to be more intense rather than reducing it. I never see screamers in vanilla, not 17, not 18. Maybe in the end heat buildup and how fast it dissipates could be tied to difficulty as well.

If you really do want to have multiple forges and campfires running at the same time, place spikes around the build to kill them off and do not make noise..

And stop wacking metal, that also makes a ton of heat.

 
Madmole, Does the stun baton have the glancing blow effect? If I don't line up the crosshair perfectly on an zombies head it completely misses, not even a small hit registers.

 
I'm not a fan of small biomes, its very immersion breaking.

I tend to aim for the chest and only throw in close quarters, and have a backup weapon when I inevitably miss.
also, been drawing 7dtd fanart for the past couple days in addition to my scarecrow character for inktober and not sure where I can post it on this forum so the general megathread is as good as place as any really.

"Heat" here refers to activity.. General term used in these situations, if you played GTA etc, your Heat level determines if the cops come after you... it's the same concept.

So if you get screamers while looting, it means you basically breaking down every block of the place you loot, increasing the 'heat' of that immediate area. Doing less will solve this without editing the witch away.

Otherwise, if that would require you to drastically change the way you prefer to play, I am sure you will find what you looking for in spawning.xml

 
Screamer came knocking on my concrete bunker door last night. I opened the door, and greeted her with my double barrel shotgun to head. Hard to scream without a head.

also dose anyone kinda find it odd that the cougar and coyote spawn in only one biome. cuz those two animals can live in nearly and biome

(hell were i live in Florida and we got some coyotes living around here!)

i think that the coyote should spawn nearly any wear

and the cougar lives in desert , forest and burnt forest.

and i hope that later updates would have animals like cow/bulls , bison's , wolverine's etc

Day 8, looting frantically before my first A18 horde arrives. Got some decent stuff from a tool shop but encountered two random spider zombies on my way home. Now I'm infected. Marvellous. Chugged my only jar of honey in the hopes it'll clear up my 1.4% infection in time to fight.

Day 5, I get dysentary for the very first time 💩 right before I need to do some digging/gathering for my day 7 horde base. Game really knows how to troll....lol

On top of that so far I've only managed only find one gun so far (tier 1 double barrel shotgun).

Fast forward to Day 6 night time...I somehow got my horde base created AND found a tier 1 AK and Hunting rifle from the same POI.....whew....😅

Arms ready for Day 7 BM (adventurer diff.):

-Tier 1 junt turret with 200+ ammo (plenty iron to make more)

-Tier 1 dbl barrel shotgun with ~100 shells

-Tier 1 AK with ~150 to 200 bullets

-Tier 2 Iron Sledge

-Tier 1 Iron Spear (lvl 1 jav master)

-Tier 3 bow with ~200 arrows

~7 grenades

Who will win? (TFP VS Lazman) I am praying I dont get a snow storm during the BM, otherwise I will be freezing my ■■■ off. No puffer coat....😅
