The issue with turning up the game stage is that it turns up the loot quality. Are you speaking POI looting or blood moons being too easy until day 42, or everything being too easy? We did make adventurer default difficulty to help ease players into the game, for it to feel more like 16 or 17 in difficulty put it on nomad, they are not bullet sponges at all.
We are talking about a blood moon size option so people can have blood moons all night if they want earlier game, and potentially a zombie count outdoors but that might take more optimizations to achieve.

IMO the solution is to lower the quality of loot you get with game stages so players are only getting brown from level 1-10, orange 10-20, etc etc so you don't even sniff a purple until level 60. Then crafting would come back in full force IMO.
Sorry I didn’t mention, blood moons are mainly what I’m talking about.

I’ve bumped up to warrior from nomad after getting a feel for the update, and I noticed that blood moons just weren’t particularly enough for my personal taste. Not a bad thing as I’m sure the challenge will come, I’d just like it to come sooner is all.

I do see how that could be problematic with the loot quality at the moment though.

A blood moon size setting sounds great, would that work like a multiplier? For example (default normal, 25% more zombies, 50% more etc). That would be really neat, and should get me panicking again early on.

But yeah if in any future updates there’s any way to add any in game settings such as the above or other customisable settings that affect difficulty of blood moons, I’d so love to see them. That way it’s only an option, so players aren’t forced to play how others might prefer to.

Nope. If you want to craft better Shotguns, put points into Boomstick. Wanna craft better Stun Batons? Electrocutioner. Better tools? Miner 96er. Etc. (:
Thanks bro! I'll keep playing then, gotta make the weekend count.

What is the perk called to build it?
I think it's right above grease monkey, I forget what it's called. Adv. Engineering maybe?

Edit: lvl 1 of adv. Engineering (blacksmith). It should mention the forge in the description.

I just posted a bug report for a friend whose game keeps crashing, usually around the time that we join his server or we join a server in which he is in, log included: https://7daystodie.com/forums/showthread.php?128774-Game-crashes-on-friends-joining-the-game&p=1034461#post1034461

From my research it seems to be related to Direct3D 11, as the log as a spam of "d3d11: failed to create buffer". It also seems to be somewhat Unity related as this log output can be found in other Unity games. Can you guys do anything at all about this? Details in the thread.

Going to throw out not really serious ideas.

Something kinda crowd control perk could be funny. Charismatic nature having a chance to turn a zombie friendly in groups, or rather, turn it hostile to some of the zombies in the pack.

A special suit you can only craft made out of money, that has improved damage reduction against humanoids. The idea being in the back of their rotting minds, they still do not want to hurt the money... lel.

Some kinda perk or item to summon, lure, what have you, animals onto the screen. Since they fight zombies, it could allow for thinning the horde, unless they target you first lel. Might be funny with an animal friend perk, but OP for hunting. Although it would be funny if the animal friend perk made you unable to eat meat lel.

The fat zombies great shirt should be a random drop from him with amusing stats.

A bed sheet so that I may dress as a ghost.

Thank you. I thought i at to put a point in that and find the book

really like the update so far. :)

performance is indoor great, outdoor not so with my sys 8700k, vega56.

what is really interesting is, that switching from dx11 to vulkan gives me around +47% more fps in a bad scenario with same graphics settings.

i could random gen the world without any issues, but have no clue if there are some issues in the map itself yet.

Madmole, have you ever thought about putting in powered up abilities in the game? Example. You kill zombies to fill up a bar and once the bar is full you can unleash an overpowered attack. Each attribute at lvl 10 could unlock it's own special ability. I mean, it's been before a ton of other games, but I thought it could be fun in 7DTD.

A quick triple stabby combo.
Its already in the game. Look at kill streak for deadeye, and clubs after you get x hits you do more damage, etc.

While I like this idea (quite a lot actually), I would hope that in practice it's a bit more organic than that, with a rare (say, 0.1% chance) to get two tiers up, and a not-impossible say 2-4% chance to get a single tier up (maybe scaling with level?) and the same thing at the other end (lower tier loot).
This would keep the feeling of that wow find to some extent, and while there would still be plenty of loot out there, it would still help it FEEL like loot was scarce. Figuring out the impact of Lucky Looter on that would be interesting, but that's going to be the case with any sort of quality restriction. And it would certainly make the crafting feel more useful at lower game levels.
Yeah its how it is now to some extent, but that rare good find needs to be beat down even further and you find this at this level needs pushed out some.

What was the issue that caused mountains to generate looking like spine vertebrae, all sliced up into thin slices? I know I read something about it at some point, but I can't find it in the patch's known issues.

@madmole I heard you say somewhere, "Good luck finding 15 machine gun parts." Well, apparently, good luck is on my side. Hehheh.

That was before we combined them all into one. When I played it was 25 parts and it had to come from an m60.

i do have a large fly swatter and sticky fly traps :)
Central air, double vault doors and 5 staff armed with fly swatters here. If one makes it into my office the hallway security are fired.

I would probably use naked or low tech perks if they were available.
A perk where your bare fists to more damage and harvest better. I perk where your sprinting is improved, or that improves the use of the bicycle. A perk to improve natural armor, but you can only equip basic clothing. (probably too annoying to code and could cause a lot of bugs, so probably not)

I think only brawling works on the bare fists, but not 100% about fortitude.

Is this really just a post asking for improved basic unarmed fists from fortitude and brawling?... probably.
Cardio perk lets you run further before gassing out. The athletic jacket boosts your run speed. Brawler works with leather knuckles, brass and spiked knuckles. Beer increases melee damage.
