And one more thing: how are zombies supposed to know, there is a hole on the opposite side of the building? way out of their line of sitght...

you can continue with it. There still a small chance of restarting when A18 goes stable build or something major that affect the world build (like the current AMD rwg).

Hello! Low FPS at below average settings. 17 alpha was better than twice. CPU - AMD FX-8320E, RAM - 24GB DDR3 1866, GPU - GTX750 Ti, VRAM - 2 gb. Developers, help. advise how to increase FPS!
I think even the developers here will suggest an upgrade ASAP. That gpu alone is going to stomp on your parade time and time again.

Well I didn't fall into a crack this time in RWG but the problem is still there. For me it was Biome specific & I think it was Desert or Destroyed where it looked like someone took a giant rake to the Biome & not as high as before.

I'm getting 60 FPS but because I have 3 monitors it divides it by 3 showing 20 FPS on screen. I get a higher FPS if I drop it down to 1920 X 1080 but really with the higher Res & 3 monitors I have great performance, no lag, runnin around the map, have to adjust my DPI to the lowest setting because my character is so flighty so overall out of the box is great for me, even runnin everything on High...

Can't wait till the real Optimization begins...

For me RWG is unplayable like this with AMD, I am playin Prefab 02 now

Dropped down to 1920 X 1080 with 60 FPS straight up at the sky, same performance as the higher Res.

I think I might have a FPS lock on my card, I'll check that later.

Is it possible to fix the terrain that it does not look like toast. Large pieces of my map begin to look like this.

Using Nvidia 970 card

I am talking about gamestaging, not changing the difficulty setting. The difficulty you mention is quite broad, and while it accelerates gamestage also changes many other aspects of the game such as zombie health and probability of raging.
If you want to speed up the gamestaging, without making the game more difficult overall, than you can increase the XP multiplier to level faster.

There is no "one fits all" in the difficulty settings. Some want a more relaxed game and others want it as hard as possible. I think the default settings are good as they are. The feral zombies are a little early in A18 for my taste, but since the armor works better now, and armor is easy to come by, it is manageable.

Any post about low performance needs to provide systems specs (CPU, RAM, GPU, VRAM) and some settings like screen resolution or you will just get poor guesses from us. Even if you posted it before, I am not hunting around for it.
Always check your resolution after an update. I've seen might get changed to 4k, since I have a 4k monitor.
So to expand on a previous post of mine, my game wouldn't run well in Fullscreen mode. Choppy, getting 20 fps or lower. It didn't matter what resolution I was at, what my quality settings were in game, whether EAC was on or off, NOTHING changed the outcome. Low, choppy fps. Until I just discovered something odd. Here's my system settings again:

OS: Windows 10 64-bit, version 1809

CPU: Intel i7 4790k 4.0GHz

GPU: MSI Gaming GTX 1080 8GB, latest drivers installed (436.48)

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR3 1600

Motherboard: MSI Z97 Gaming 5

Typically when I play games, I have twitch streams, youtube videos or something of the like going on my other monitor to watch while I play. Turns out if a video is playing, that's what causes my low and choppy fps. As soon as I pause the video, performance increases dramatically! Oh it gets even stranger. Let's say I have the video playing, and I mute my system using my keyboard's mute button. Windows 10 add this little overlay when you mute and unmute your system in the corner of your screen:

Iohvl1F.jpg

Super handy! Especially considering that when this overlay is up, even while a video is playing which normally demolishes my performance... my framerate is buttery smooth. No hitching, no chop. As soon as it goes away, it's back to being unplayable. So this clearly is not a game issue, it's a Windows issue. I have no clue what it's doing to cause this or how to stop it. Funny enough, I get better performance using the Vulkan renderer, until it crashes after a few minutes of play. Maybe some weird interaction with the DX11 renderer? I have no idea. Hopefully someone out there can shed some light on this issue, so I can enjoy A18 in all its glory.

I pieced together a minibike on day 15. Sometimes I cave in and buy the bicycle perk but my trader is close to a town so travel time to quests hasn't been horrible.
I got really lucky and found motorcycle parts -competed on day 13. I am having a real hard time restarting with the new patch :-)

Just another performance report for b143: I7 7700k, 16gb 3200, GTX1080 8gb VRAM, 1440p res.

Looking at forest biome no zombies or houses, my fps is around 75fps with ultra preset MINUS anisotropic and ss reflections on low (looks good enough). Near ground textures looks horrible blurry but I think its ok for now.

Enabling AF cut my fps by half, hope you can fix it soon. MSI afterburner also report lower vram usage. Switching between full, half or quarter textures gives back 5 fps by step, b138 was 25fps by step.

I think I'm seeing lower performance in this build as compared with the previous build.
Already posted this into the bug reporting thread, but will repeat it here, cause hopefully will help many people:

"gfx af 0" (console command) and "vsync off" did it for me.

With both options on I got severe frame rate jumps/drops, from around 50fps down to <10fps,

very dependent just to where i was looking at that moment (looking, down, up, turning around,...)

Changing graphics options that would normally influence fps most (texture quality, view distance, lod, tree quality,...) raised/lowered overall fps only by a few, but fps still jumping up and down.

switching off af and vsync, i immediately got +20fps, so now I play with almost stable around 70-80 fps,

which is same to A17 performance for me, and most important: no more severe jumps/drops.

I got an older rig, so I run custom "mid-quality" settings (not sure what exactly at the moment cause i was trying out so much to get it playable)

If it helps to post my whole detailled settings and my hardware just let me know.

Seems something is wrong with af (not really sure what vsync should do more, but it did :-) )

Would it be possible to have an option to hide the day and time info, if left after being mugged or whatever happened I do not think I still be wearing a time piece.

I think its way better to have to rely on the sun's position, and loosing track of the days gives you that dread feeling when the blood moon is due.

Could have a watch maybe in loot...

Since the b143 update I have weapon parts replaced with "scrappable item parts" where the icon is a question mark. Not sure what these are?

I did read notes and searched but apologies if this is documented.

Most people like it I think. Its here to stay.
I think they are referring to the term "Food Contamination" instead of Food Poisoning. At least I am damn sure that's what Guppy was saying in response to you:

We could always call it "food contamination" but that seems less intuitive to a new player and to common sense.

I like food contamination. It makes sense and gets to the point.
But Food poisoning and contamination are the same thing.

I think what people are confusing is, Food Poisoning/contamination and Food Spoilage.

What the letter told me, "The Duke" was afraid of who you were enough, that he took along a bunch of his boys to take you down!

He also was confident you would survive being tossed naked in the Apocalypse and become powerful again where he would need his boys again to beat you.

If he took your watch, a sacred family heirloom, you would kill him he was sure. :)

Then you should read more carefully next time :-)

All items with parts that belong to the same perk scrap to the same part. For example all handguns now scap to “handgun parts” and all handgun class weapons such as pistols, smgs, and magnums are crafted from handgun parts. Existing m60 parts, sniper rifle parts etc can be scrapped to the new parts

Maybe this can help you: HideVolumeOSD
