As much as I dig the new junk turret I didn't find myself using it much if at all...
Then I got a Tier V Clear quest at one of the big factories...

I've named her Grace, as in "saving grace", she is my new BFF.

We should be able to craft engagement rings from our diamonds and install them as permanent mods cause this here lady is a keeper.

I should not be alive right now, but I am, and I am in love with a purple turret.

Oh 'pocalypse, you so drama.
Que the Sax...😅

Que the Sax...

Since diamond ring mods aren't a thing I just made her a drum turret, she now holds 121 rounds to back my ass up with. Teetering on giving her my only anti-rad mod cause those bastards just started showing up. Even the duckbill fits, as does the Cripple 'Em mod, so they're in. Prob keep anti-rad on me and then top Grace off with the ol' Fore Grip... oh yeah, fillin ALL them slots tonight!

*pardon my snowdog

Awesome. I read your post about degradation. I was thinking its damage would stay the same but degradation loses 25% per repair. Using a work bench and some parts you could restore it to full ability. So keep wasting parts on it to keep it fully functional. Optionally we could lower its damage and other stats with each repair.
At the end of the day I don't really think it adds a whole lot because you will find with random stats you will swap guns 10+ times probably in your quest from your first Ak to your final M60, etc.
Maybe you could make it so every time you repair an item it loses a percentage of its maximum durability. When it gets to 0% max durability it is destroyed. Having items eventually be destroyed would add more reason to keep multiple of the same item. As it is right now, there is almost no need to keep any item with lower stats than the item you already have, except to sell or to have as backup just incase. Also it increases the value of crafting weapons since your items will eventually break. Just an idea. Reducing the stats on items is a good alternative. Im loving alpha 18 btw!

That looks awesome Atomic! It's pretty amazing looking at that screenshot to think that this is a fully destructible voxel world.

I never expected A18 to be optimized so good and its not even fully optimized yet. Runs Very well on ultra-wide using gtx1080.
Give us more walking/outdoor zombies! lol
Open up spawning.xml and look for:

<spawn maxcount="1" respawndelay="3" time="Day" entitygroup="ZombiesAll" />

<spawn maxcount="1" respawndelay="4" time="Night" entitygroup="ZombiesNight" />/>

Change maxcount to 5, set respawndelay to 1

I think Charismatic nature and better barter perks should be combined.
Charismatic natures fortitude and agility bonuses do not really do anything anymore and should probably be removed. The only real use would be abuse it in large groups, if it stacks, to power game those attributes.

Then you would have more reason to get the barter/charismatic nature perk.

I think some of the perks could be combined to make room for more interesting perks. It is pretty good the way it is though. Thumbs up.
Yeah there are a few perks I'd like to replace with something better. Flurry of blows, charismatic nature are on the chopping block. Barter is awesome IMO, secret stash drops insane crap, but I rarely buy it because I like a harder game.

You get about 600 dukes for a buried supply quest. This is usually done less than 10 minutes and does not require much effort. This quest gives you food and as a reward XP, Dukes and items that you can sell for more dukes. With the dukes you can buy food that doesn't give you food poisoning. Accordingly, the player learns that it is not necessary to create a garden at all.
For other quests you get more dukes, more XP and better items. Many players do quests all the time anyway and sell everything that they don't need. So it's no extra effort to get enough dukes to afford the food for the day.

Some of the users in the forum have already written here that they do exactly what I suspected they would do. They simply buy the food from the vending machines because it is the most convenient for them.

I've read postings before that players don't have a garden anymore because they find more than enough food. Even in A17 where canned food gave you food poisoning. Since canned food no longer gives you food poisoning, they have no reason for farming at all.

I will certainly create a garden because I like it but for survival it is not necessary and there is no incentive to do it. Therefore I assume that many will no longer have a garden even if they had one in the past.

There are now more than enough sources for brass in the game. Wrench every air conditioner, every car and every heater you find and you'll never have a lack of brass. If you're lucky and find the right book you can even get brass if you destroy a door or wrench kitchen sinks.
Good argument with the buried treasure quest. You still have to give up money for food. But if you have lots of money, lots of brass, lots of food, doesn't that point to, maybe, too much of anything? I don't know though, have not even played to first BM, my group only plays two nights a week

I'd hate that though, once you find an awesome weapon it would suck seeing it go. I get that it would keep you on the hunt for something, but there is something to be said about reaching the top of the hill. Rust has that and I hate it. They don't even have random stats where you can find something special. Its just grinding for the sake of grinding IMO.

I like pvp games to some extent, IMO stealing someone's "special" gun and armor or legendary items when we get them will feel very cool, and killing them and getting it back would be awesome as well. IF everything degrades there wouldn't be stealing that unique weapon.

I'm not against it, but I'd like a way to restore it like pay a trader for a proper repair, but I can tell you a lot of people wouldn't like it. I just don't think its truly needed at this point.

A wow moment for my first spawn in b143:

Does that mean the Flurry of Blows buff will be added to individual weapon perks? Like Pummel Pete?

Nice screenshots guys! I survived my 16 zed day 14 bm. There were some close moments, I built a trench around my fort but they jumped the gap like nothing so I was running circles killing them on my wooden bars while chopping out the extra row of bars I didn't need so more couldn't jump the gap it was crazy. Took til about 2 am to kill them all and they nearly got in 16 alive with a double barrel you can't thin the herd well enough so they were getting some nice bonus damage. I must have had 6 holes to repair and my 2 high row of spikes was gone. I took recog (that crap is amazing) and did quad damage for 30s and got a lot of frags with even a pistol lol.

budget is the streaming texture budget. By default it is 4096, which is in MB and the max it can be. Changing options right now forces it back to the default, but I'm removing that and the default will probably be based on VRAM amount. WIP.
forceload makes streaming mipmaps all load. I have not even tested that yet. Thought it might be useful.
Thank you sir. I sorta jumped the gun and set the budget to 0 hah. ill give it a little bit more now. I'll play around with forceload, it kinda sounds like the old cl_forcepreload in counter strike, I assume it loads it all into ram or vram -- may not be good or may be good for my laptop but hey, can't hurt anything to try lol.

You guys are awesome, really. if you guys make any other games you're the only company I'd fathom pre-ordering or going into an Alpha again. And in the same state as I live in <3

It turned out to be an extremely large wasteland / burnt forest that took me forever to get out of.

When I did, it was large desert which also took me forever to get out of.

Basically, it took me this entire time since I posted that.

Nice! I haven't built yet myself, but I'm in one of the 3 story houses in a burnt biome in Naves. About to do my day 14 now, I'm living in the attic and I've trapped the bottom floors with spikes and junk turrets that I've been lucky to find. By the way, you guys are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s lmao. First time ever in the game a BOAR scared the ♥♥♥♥ out of me! I crept up on it thinking it wouldn't aggro until I damaged him and low and behold, I had to whip out my SMG and kill it with about 15 hp left hah. Good times. Keep the scares up :D Game is looking stunning, even on my laptop. Going to build a new rig here before too long depending on how hard my next college terms hit me money wise, it's needed for work/school *cough 7D2D cough

Feel free to keep posting your horde nights even if we're busy playing the game ourselves . :)
