Is there a way to see which schematics you've read? I've read about a dozen (got the anvil schematic so I'm stoked I don't have to put any more points into Adv Eng) but so far I haven't seen anywhere in the interface to show any of them.

I know about the tab that shows the book series, but those aren't schematics.

Apparently there is an issue with anistropic filtering.
I set it to 2x in the NVIDIA Settings, and my performance increase to almost stable 60FPS.

So there is clearly an impact for some machines.

Lesson learned, we will test on potatoes from now on too.
Come on man, those types of responses will make you lose ALL fscking respect from me Joel.

If an RTX2080 card gets 20 FPS in 1080p, the issue is with your ♥♥♥♥ing game!

Edit: If it's a joke, it's in very poor taste. Stick to game design, and when it comes to graphics performance, let the grown ups talk.

If you still get any drops, change the texture filtering to "High Performance" and the Anisotropic Optimzation from "Off" to "On" as well just to see if that further improves things. Normally, neither AF nor the optimization options in control panel have much of any real tangible effect on performance in games - and haven't really since like the Geforce 5 era (the old FX 5200, and 5700 cards had very piss-poor Dx9 performance and it did boost it for them)..but, in this case..who knows?

We have some optimizations coming soon, but you can't go wrong buying better video cards if you are into gaming, they will serve you well.
Hi MM, curious if you guys noticed any specific performance issues between the 3 different pregen maps. For me, I have considerably better FPS outdoors with pregen02 vs pregen01.

Awesome to hear! I meant to pop in your channel and see how you were liking the mid game or wherever you are at by now.
Drop by Friday night or sat around noon. I'd love to gush over what I would consider the best state the game has ever been in. And I have been here since alpha 1

It seems like mining helmets sold by traders don't have the light mod. It doesn't have the mod icon, anyway, and I don't want to waste the dukes testing it. :)
Bought one from trader last night and the light works fine. It was cheap too for a day2 buy.....less than 2000 dukes.

Come on man, you are are losing respect from people on the forums... (assuming you even care)

1. Implying that ANY/ALL RTX2080 cards are suffering the same issue. (See #2, before you claim...)

2. Implying that there can't be issues with some people's systems.

a. Like all 2 million systems are configured equally.

b. Like not having much HD space free for caching.

c. Like not having updated drivers for video or os or etc.

d. Like having gone through and tweaked any/all available configurations.

e. OR having gone through configurations and maybe mis-tweaked something.

f. Like not having malware, adware, or bloatware, or . or . or .

I understand you are passionate about the game, but the world hasn't ended. Opt out. Go back to an earlier release. Wait for an update. Etc. Etc. Etc.

Can confirm. turned global settings to off and it dropped my gpu usage to half. I can now play the game again!

Why do Devs and forum mods keep calling our rigs potatoes? When you go from 60 fps to 10 fps or less from an update i wouldn't blame the potato I would most likely blame the update. You guys have been working on this for like a year talking all about optimizations. Some people cant afford $3000 dollar PC's let alone barely a $500 one. So when we go to play a game that normally runs great its a little concerning, and when we come here to find out whats wrong the last thing we want to see is TFP blaming us and our potatoes.. Take some accountability and grow up. Making fun of customers PC's isn't gonna help anything and quite frankly leaves a bad taste in my mouth seeing it from more then one TFP staff let alone the guy in charge...

I just bought one (4000): it was delivered with the light mod. You have to have a look before buying, traders are crooks ...

I paid my computer about 900, not 3000 ... Everything is smooth. If you want to be heard, be credible.

And which of those two books was read? Does an open book mean I should read it now, or does it mean it is open because I read it already?

Hopefully I can remember which is which in the future, but changing the "read book" icon to have a green check mark would make it really obvious. The same check mark that denotes perks you have taken.

I kind of have a potato as well, and my Alpha 18 is running almost exactly the same as Alpha 17. How do you explain that?

not making fun but here is my thinking.... an open book can be read but a closed book needs to be opened first. :)

They do have the light mod. ;) I bought a level 1 mining helmet at the trader for 400 dukes and it had a helmet light mod in it. ;)

I'm on day 9 and so desperate for the light I'm going to pay 4k for a q3 mining helmet and not even use the helmet lol. All I need is the 400 duke light but can't find one yet.

Type the recipe in and see if its blocked or not.

Stick to game design and let the grown ups talk wow maybe you should find another hobby maybe game design since you know so much more than they do. I've seen people posting problems across the board of PC builds. That's how games work not all PC's are the same and not all specs are the same. I think you're just being a d*** for no reason. I'm not having the issues others are with similar specs.
