so watching the streams and watching for bones i actually see a lot if you know where to look

woo hooo GLUE FOR ALL !!!!

Umm I have literally had to wipe more times then in real life on the toilet, you playing the same game as everyone else? They push out updates shortly after the next alpha all recommending restarts.
We're going to tell you to wipe (probably) but you are free to keep playing and see if any issues come up. Just don't report any that wont' repro on a brand new game, but seriously I've got 2-3 month old saves that still work. Unless its nasty you won't have to wipe.

Let me put it this way, if you don't to harvesting cars every other night you WILL be walking until you get the cas can recipe and start cooking your own from shale. You get 50-450 gas, which is nothing. Minibike eats 1000 a day roughly.
Ahh, now it makes sense. Thanks for clarifying. (:

I think I saw a post from roland that we are less than 24 hours away from release barring any changes after a tomorrow AM meeting.
Thanks man I thought it was like 11am here and I assumed it dropped already. Sadly i look out my window and its pitch black..turns out its midnight. some how I woke up thinking i was in the future by 12 hours lol.

well....back to lurkin. *lurking enabled*

EDIT: Can someone please hit me over the head so I can get back to sleep and wake up with A18 having already dropped......

Lol, careful, you may turn into an actual zombie waiting for a18.😁

As a side note. What settings and builds do everyone think they will start with?

Despite what my ego tells me... I will go with the default difficulty on my first go.

And at least perception build to start. Super excited to get some javelin action.

Yeah there were quite a few sources I saw in some streams and youtube videos.

But it does bring up one of my few, minor, criticisms... you need 5 bones to make one shiv now. Like with the change to needing 5 meat to make one meat, which also kicks my brain. Sure it's a minor thing I won't let ruin my fun, but I feel responsible to respectfully point it out as a questionable design decision. I am also a designer, albeit of different things, and as such I always appreciate constructive criticisms more than empty platitudes and head nods on everything no matter what.

TFP, is there not a better way to balance these things? Is it temporary and likely to change at some point?

It's far from game breaking, just logic breaking. If it never changes then I'll just shrug and move on, albeit muttering "gah this is so stupid" under my breath every single time I deal with it(me cooking in A17). But eventually my eyes will roll back so far into my head that they should come back around full circle and I'll just go back to all the other awesome stuff to do. I mean, overall, this is nothing in the grand scheme of things.

Could even call it a splash of "wabi" in an otherwise beautiful work of art.

They could've made it so that 4 out of 5 bones splinter and break when attempting to craft a shiv but that would get tedious and frustrating so they abstracted to crafting with 5 bones gets one workable shiv. Of course the real reason was to make it so perking into harvesting would actually give noticeable increases. <shrug>

As for the meat, they really need to change it to 5 oz of meat for one steak. Call the raw meat "ounces" or "strips" and its good.

If you guys are interested in a nomad day 7 horde attempt check max foxes stream @ around the -1:26 hour mark. Was a glorious death....😁

TFP - 1, Max - 0

That is what you get for not eating at the table!!! Hope your hand is ready for some serious button mashing.
It is, stitches were removed and it's just a bandage now, fingers are working fine. Thank god it was just my left hand, could have ruined my sex life for a while.

Yeah, something along those lines. I can buy that logic with the bones for now, ok.

I did get the reason with meat as being so that perks etc could more easily adjust up/down with those numbers, I do understand that part of it. I do however think, and hope, that reason could be better implemented at some point.

How about, with a rabbit for example. By default gives 1 meat, upgrade level 1 gives 2 meat, etc. A deer would give 5, actual full meats, then add one or two per perk level from there. Etc. I just thought it was weird because it was fine before, in A16, so it felt backwards when it happened.

I do think, at some point, it will get enough of a tweak/update so it stops kicking my brain so hard every time. It's just one of the few things that jolts my immersion while playing, and that's my prob, again I can deal for now just fine. Ffs it's one of the few things I am not looking forward to amongst a mountain of things I am truly excited about. <mutual shrug>

There are zero known issues atm on junk turrets but we have some balance/design discussion slated for tomorrow.
There is at least one issue with junk turret. If you have stun baton with flaming mod equipped it can set things on fire/stun targets. Or is it intended?

Don't know what you mean. Rage mode is actually pretty simple. Maybe 40 lines of code. All it changes is move speed, like walk/run or day/night/BM also does.
I'm saying that it appears they're standing because they're dying at the same moment they go into rage mode.

As I said above, a scaling value changes. Position is never directly changed.
You have a legitimate problem, because during some rage modes the entities teleport a little bit. Especially if they're staggering from hits at the time.

Done. By default...
#ConventionalRalston
That was it? The Difficutly setting? Doing Nomad anyway, its what John Wayne would have done.

I was sure it was ether:

-The pool Table.

-Airships

-The great illness/infection system.

I swear I saw Faatal say they had already resolved this earlier.

That was it. Conventional is a synonym for default and Ralston is an american adventurer (cut his own arm off during a climbing excursion)

Adventurer is the new default and Nomad is now considered +1 difficulty
