For a level 4 quest it becomes quite expensive to loot the POI twice. It usually takes half a day to clear and loot the POI. The travel time is insignificant in contrast.
In addition, you consume far too much ammunition when using firearms.
I just shredded a tier 4 with mostly my spear in that video. Granted I missed the basement I guess but tier 4's don't all take a long time. I like fetch because you aren't tied there until X is killed, get the bag and get what you feel like getting, and get out. The reward isn't as nice, but sometimes finding that last volume of guys to kill is a pain in the ass.

Hey @madmole,here is some feedback on the spear.

I see you guys tend to throw it a lot, even when the target is in poke range, even when it is too close for it to be physically possible. IRL you need space for you arm to extend and give maximum speed to the spear. More speed = more dmg irl.

I propose a super quick fix for this. Scale the damage of a thrown spear, from 0 when the target is 0 meters away to maximum when the target is 2 meters(blocks) away.

This would balance poking and throwing nicely imo.
Its already balanced. It takes a ton more stamina to throw, has to be fully charged to do max damage throwing, and you risk losing it throwing. And BS, I studied martial arts, force is force. I don't need two meters of air time to shove a spear through your head. Once the hips thrust and torso twists, its game over the power is already generated and I don't need 2 meters of flight for that. :)

i like that you can open trailer doors, not breaking them every time. also the amount of zeds was bit too much in a17 when every trailer was minimum 3 zeds inside. so far i like, what i see :)
18 is a huge massive balance effort on all fronts.

What I don’t understand is guys going up a weight class after a losing streak. Okay I just got knocked out by a middleweight bigger than me, I think I’ll move up a weight class, huh!?? Yea Weidman is not a big MW either like you said.
The only person that did good above his weight class was Frankie Edgar. Old school Edgar tho. The past few years he is whiny and useless. Not sure if it’s the competition, or something with him, age, etc.
Its mainly that 155 and 185 are pretty stacked divisions, and 170 and 205 are less stacked. So you spend years getting up the ranks in 155 or 185, you'll never get a title shot almost no matter what, look at khabib who had at least a 9 fight ufc win streak ? before finally getting a title shot, and ferguson who is now 12 with no title shot. They can go up a class, and if they get a lucky good win they can propel up the ranks like a new guy who's on fire and "unbeaten" at that class.

Sometimes its a good move to go up. Rumble Johnson somehow was fighting at 170. So hungry and energyless, dehydrated from weight cut you can't perform optimally. It depends how much weight you cut to make weight and how rangy you are. Some guys just do better not cutting much weight because they can eat, and your brain is the last thing to rehydrate so people are easier to knock out cutting more weight. But that is mostly genetics, it didn't help rockholds chin lol.

I just got off a 2 hour phone call with my brother and during the 7D2D topic we talked in length about how there are to many zombies in POIs in A17. Personally I say add more but my brother along with what seems like 85% of the players want less zombies.
Na it was way too many. We've cut roughly 30% I think. It made it kind of tedious not scary (Now we have dead space sometimes between spawns) and not worth the ammo to reach the loot pile at the end. We like it now, its feeling much better.

But we 85% want a crap ton more in the streets and wild. Just to be clear.
...it's just weird and repetitive to find a crapload of Zed's in pois, in the same hiding places (cupboards, rafters, repeat), and it's just not fun clearing out a poi.

Spend half the day just to get crap loot. I no longer even bother with large pois. Garages and broken smaller ones are so plentiful... Hopefully the duplicate poi removal in a18 will help with that.
The random encounter system we want to do with address this. Hell we could even give an option to say you want more or less random encounters. The old system is bad for performance and not very interesting. As long as the player sees a decent amount of zombies he's happy, it doesn't matter how they got there (old spawning vs new encounters)

Rumble was fighting way below his “natural” weight class, He moved up to a better fit. Weidman And most others I think are totally different from Rumble, he was killing himself

@Madmole, hey thank you very much for all the videos, the community enjoys your videos and keeps them calm, one of the best Alfa is approaching and maybe one of the most anticipated by all and thanks to your videos we don't have many problems and insecurity among the community follow in that good way man,
Thanks total.
Hey you're welcome.

Make the paintings into a form of door?
You can then check each one to see if there's a chance of loot without storming around and smashing them all like some demented bunny-boiler.
I'm still pushing for that radial pickup menu so you can silently remove a painting.

Yes, I enjoy working around a situation, saving my perks for must haves instead of nice to have. Like at level 40 I finally found stew recipe, until then I lived strictly off of boiled meat and occasional fish taco when I found cornmeal and salmon. The nice thing about boiled meat is you don't really need to take water with you so it frees a slot at the cost of a jar. I don't have a shortage of jars though, every toilet keeps my murky water and jar supply huge.
Mm, I think i saw you loot a yellow jar from a toilet. Was that the new murky water hd icon or was that.....something else lol...

This! Quests need these distinct pros/cons (if not already implemented) to further polish the game. Cant wait to see some of the new quest types you guys cook up in the future.

I partially read this and then made up the rest of what you said in my mind, and therefore I take it that you are saying there is going to be a martial arts/unarmed perk line in which I will be able to do dropkicks. np.

I noticed some new models and textures for things like washing machines, nice. I also like the new animation for wrenching.

But - next time you do a video like this, could you turn the music up? I'm very curious about the new dynamic music system, and you could barely hear it.

Gups will be happy about this one. 👍

Probably not many in sheer numbers, but a lot have been redone to be less redundant, so in theory more choice. We make amazing pois with it, not sure how you can say its very limited we built a whole world with it. Ark and rust have one texture lol.
it's not a dig at you or the game when people ask for more available paint textures. like you said, other games offer next to zero.

7days is extremely unique in many ways, and the ability to transform with simple paint impacts people that love to deco and build more than many understand. sometimes the most frustrating feeling is "why can't i paint that texture". we become junkies. we want more. :)

I just realized they added a basketball hoop too. That will go perfectly in my prison. No more makeshift hoops. 😅

Everytime i see you talk about what loot is going to be like puts a smile on my face. Alpha 17 was a let down because i had no reason to loot like i did in other alphas so i am over the moon you and concentrated on sorting that problem out.
