I thought if containers werent going to be lootable, they would look opened. that changed?
Had to have been a bug where someone painted it to look like a cupboard or some weird collision bs blocking activation.

 
Today I took a look at the bug: "zombies wont attack hatches nor climb ladders if covered with a hatch".
It turns out that pathing did not make downward connections on ladders, so they could not path down the typical 1m mineshaft with a ladder down it, so they would get over your head and dig. That is fixed and when covered by an obstacle like a hatch, they will go to it and dig.

On the climbing ladders side, they now check if blocked above and target that block, so hatches get attacked.

Changes:

Fixed SDTD-10733 zombies wont attack hatches nor climb ladders if covered with a hatch (fixed ladder path connections down and connections go fully to the top. changed digging to trigger on blocked down paths. added blocked up check when climbing).

Added pathing will cross 1m ladder gaps.

I was wondering if this is a bug or is this normal?

I noticed that when Madmole throws his spear and the spear does not stick it glows for a brief second. If it sticks to a zombie it does not glow.

Pictures for clarification.

First 2 pictures the spear does not stick.

Last 2 pictures the spear stuck in the zombie.

Nice vid MM, the looting and combat looks so polished. Also noticed a good mix of non dungeon POIs as you drove buy. A18 is going come crashing in like a wrecking ball. 👍
Yep, ace up my sleeve revealed, its feeling quite beta now and is just an utter blast to play. The game always had potential, but now we're realizing it. We've taken the approach of "what makes guys want to just quit this game" and focused on a lot of those things, bringing them up from indy quality to AA quality and its really made a difference. And aside from the polish, the balance and game mechanics are flat out amazing now.

Those were the empty hangers, the lootable ones have a garment bag on them and are pretty cool.

 
@MM, I am sorry, but where is backpack of character when he go on motorcycle?Where does the character store his belongings? In your pockets? =)

TBH characters look cooler without backpacks. I don't recall what broke it, but to hell with it, it looks better.

 
If that's the POI, I'm thinking it must the Resident Evil style POI with a lab underneath. I don't think its a bug, as I've searched it before and I've destroyed some of those closed cupboards. They are blocks simply painted to look like a cabinet.
Getting tickets made, that bs needs to be fixed. Probably a bit of leftover cleanup left from before the empty cupboard helpers.

Oh wow! Food and clothing decorations were things I really wanted in this game. I was happy to see the lootable canned food, and now I have the garment bags to look forward to too:excitement:

I can't provide a picture right now, but I have seen some instances where a loot container overrides another one, like a lootable pile of trash that has clipped onto the same block that a backpack was on.

Edit: Nevermind, found a pic; only the suitcase was lootable. I was able to break the suitcase, but not the ammo pile.

This is in 17.4. I've encountered this a few times.

Trying out a glow shader to help the player find lost spears, its a life saver so far. I threw a spear so far I couldn't believe how far it actually was, I thought for sure the game ate it, but sure enough it was in a field a long ways from the door I threw it out of (a zombie was walking in and I missed him)

And about 500 other new/redone models/textures. 18 is way bigger than 17 in much less time and will ship with way less bugs. Nay sayers be eatin' some diaaackkks.

 
will have to say, my favorite vehicle so far is the motorcycle. not happy with jeep or gyro. but that's just personal pref. jeep feels slower for some reason.

same but thats just because I love the look and the sound of the motorcycle, especially the sound.
