I know...beating the electricity thing to a pulp - Late stage gaming...when I'm done building a massive base and done "making it pretty", that is the stage of the game where my defenses are already done. What now, besides going out to loot and repair my stuff between horde nights? Oh yes, wiring up lighting throughout the base, hiding the wires, making power poles, a solar array, motion sensors hooked up to all the lights and blade traps. Making ventilation systems that aren't functional, but look cool. Yes, electricity is not needed to defend my base...but it allows me to make my base more "mine". Isn't that part of the game is to have fun? It gives us a break in between slaughtering the masses and an excuse to spend money at the trader on stupid stuff like a cash register to store my money, water coolers, and all the other not needed decorative stuff. Electricity does serve a purpose. It gives us something else to do in the game that technically does help in defense if you choose to play that way. Heck, I just slapped in 10 Shotgun turrets just because they looked cool "protecting" my drawbridges. I doubt they'll even be used except for horde night, but it's cool having them be there if I do choose to use them and knowing they are functional. That's just icing on the cake. I like trying to figure out how to protect my relays being shielded, and how I'm going to make the wiring look cool. Seriously, Electricity is fun.
