Watch George Romero's zombies and also the Walking Dead. They are undead, not infected people that feel pain and are smart. Since when does a zombie punches you? Since when zombies know how to avoid traps? It's totally bull...sh.it... They should be stupid as hell and with no special abilities.
He also did The Crazies which had infected (zombies) people his partnership with John A. Russo split when he didn't like the faster Zombies of the genre.

Z Nation has many variety of Zombie and continued the development Romeo started in his Land of the dead.

I think you did several times and each time it has been discussed a few pages later. Helper blocks was one of em, likely the largest. The last one had to do with difficulty that started another ____gate :D

 
Oh that brought an interesting idea to mind... A boss zombie that can grab zombies and throw them at the player where they ragdoll and then get up and fight. Could be used to lob zombies over walls or fortifications.
DAt would be scary

 
Stipe proved that DC got lucky. He weathered that storm in the 2nd fight and proved his toughness and solved the puzzle and finished DC. Once you know the other guys weakness I don't see DC making any corrections that stop a bigger/faster man. So Stipe all the way. DC doesn't even deserve a title shot, its Predators time and noone can stop that man.
But, they have the cash cow trilogy to cash in on, so the guy who earned it has to sit on the sidelines because money dictates title fights not rankings or who earned what.

Predator will KO both DC and Stipe in the first round, nothing can stop that guy. He was hit in the head with some sledgehammers and never even wobbled. DC said Cain V was the best heavyweight in the world and one loose sloppy glove of Predator put the lights out on him, it wasn't even a clean shot. Noone can take one of his clean shots IMO.
Stipe already beat Naganuu.

If DC wrestled Stipe more instead trading shots I think DC would have won again.

I think Cain injured his knee going for a takedown on Naganuu… disappointing fight. I'm not saying Cain would have won.. im just saying I wish it didn't play out the way it did -- I would have liked to have actually seen a fight.

 
madmole you said there was a big surprise in a18 was this discussed in the forum or are we going to discover it when we play? (:
I remember him mentioning an ace up his sleeve not too long ago, but he revealed that it was just him having time to deeply test all the different builds.

 
Hmmm, maybe spikes should not support weight :) Thanks for pointing this bug out.
I think you're joking, but I don't think it would matter much. Most of the time, you are placing your spikes near some wall and the frames would just be supported horizontally (minimally, but still supported) over the spikes.

 
I think you got enough proofs that zombies are depicted in many movies and games as slow stupid shamblers. Do your research bro like meganoth did. I got the answer that I needed regarding zombies, what they are or what they can be. There is no need to continue this.
In the remakes of said movies the Zombies are fast and some even crawl up walks and along the ceiling, Romero contributed to resident evil.

There are many movies that depict Zombies or The infected dead as very different to the slow shamblers, also numerous computer games.

Perhaps you should broaden your horizons and research further.

 
Day 21 perception build horde night

Nice, can't wait to play A18 but will say this....

You made a exit strategy but what if it got worse then it did for you? The exit to the tunnels would of been blocked off. Maybe dig into the ground a little more then make your tunnel. Also have it walled off so when they break into the lower half they can't just start climbing the ladder. This will give you time to get below them and run through the tunnel for a nice clean exit.

Day 21 perception build horde night

That was intense! I know this fact has been known for a while, but I'm just loving the fact that the zombies don't focus on just one block the entire time like they do in A17. ^^ The pipe bombs do seem a little too bouncy in my opinion, but I'll reserve that judgement for when I actually use them, plus they are supposed to be the poor man's grenade anyway. Overall, fantastic video as always. ^^

 
hmm, for the pipe bombs, I think I will have a slant coming down to my base so the pipe bombs bounce and roll towards the zeds on the spikes.

 
Just watched latest vid on 21 day horde. I noticed Madmole had few problems dropping bombs straight down. This issue started in A17 wtih molotows hitting blocks that are hollow ( like bars or wood frames acts as full blocks ) - before you could drop them through frames and alike.

Any chance to fix that so bombs and molotows, like a gentle drop without throwing - possibly through bars and frames?

This has always been a problem, but it actually is so much better than it once was.

In this video, it looks like for pipe bombs, it might be useful to make a short one block wall a few blocks away from the base. Instead of worrying about throwing straight down, you could throw at that short wall so that the pipe bombs bounce back towards the base wall.

I think the pipe bomb bounciness should stay. You could plan accordingly.

Either that or a drop hatch door up close to the walls to drop incindiary or explosives down.

Was thinking similar. I like the idea of having different physics to deal with when using the throwables.

 
I hope the demolisher and the food poisoning is easy enough to mod out in the xmls. Although 2% chance shouldn't be that bad, if it is the same 2% we had with loot drop from zombies in A17.

no problem ;) it was always weird to build on top of spikes, however, then I can place wood frame to a wall and have a walkway 5-6 blocks long in any direction, same deal, unless you consider sticking wood frames to cobblestone as a bug too ;p

 
I think its pretty close now, but when bandits go in we want to leverage some features needed for bandits like patrols. I want zombies to wake, roam about to random patrol nodes in pois so you hear footsteps but they aren't coming at you, they are just walking around mulling about. That will make stealth way more interesting and be scary at the same time.
After you implement bandits, please make sure that sometimes (on toughest difficulty, i.e.) on blood moon night in the middle of your horde fight come bandits and try to raid you. Only great games are ones that surprise and challenge players. Also would be cool if players could lead zombie horde towards bandit POI, and watch the massacre between zombies and bandits before finishing off the winning side :)
