Hi. I'm here to ♥♥♥♥ up this thread. :)
...mm, whatchu playing lately besides 7days...
I've been having lots of fun lording over my thriving colony(Dearthstar) in Oxygen not Included since it went g-spot.

But mostly I've been playing a lot of... 7DtD. -_- Learning how to make some prefabs, learning more in xml and working on a compact(fits inside 1 LCB including tough walls) industrial concept endgame base I'd like to build in survival sometime.

Left is the cement factory, right water treatment

Working on oil refinery currently- here's the diagram I made in game to help

Or I've just been making silly and fun stuff to go in the "research lab" like this guy.

I'm ready for the Kraken release!

Just bought surviv3, a vr version of 7days... Hoping to finish work this week so I can check it out. :)
You do any vr?
Na, I can barely stand headphone for a few minutes without my ears hot flashing for 2 hours, no way can I do a big headset. I mean, I tried Skyrim VR and it was neat, but at the same time low res graphics, vanilla, etc so it wasn't anything more than a novelty. I can't see it every being mainstream until they lose controllers and get movement figured out, dizziness, etc. Its probably 10-20 years out from being awesome, right now its asteroids. Augmented reality though seems like it could be pretty cool and interesting a lot sooner.

Such a tease lol

It seems you and I have similar tastes in early game base design. ;)

Like your first time in an fps, the dizziness goes away... But yeh I get it, there aren't a lot of serious titles for it yet and the hardware just isn't quite "there" yet... But if give it 5 years, once the fancy eye tracking thingie is ratified and standardized.

Next all you need to do is give it some tires with in-wheel motors and a few sensors... boom, robot. That's what I'd like to see, have them little buddies follow us around, chase after screamers even, ha.... please, one day.
hahaha that would be amazing. Though probably would need it's own special AI which would be a pain in the ass to make.

Oxygen Not Included.

Where every single survival mechanic is complicated.

Where almost everything can be done different ways.

Where you should need a wiki to understand everything, but it doesn't help.

Essentially the opposite of 7D2D. Sometimes you need something raw like 7D2D and I'm all for the Pimps' path on it... but sometimes you need these complexities in games to satisfy the brain, and no matter what I read in here, complicated can work very well too and is not necessarily poor design.

Quick question about the rage mechanic If playing on nightmare run will the zombies go any faster than nightmare speed when hit or is their speed capped at nightmare run?
They teleport behind you and backstab! JK

Capped.

How do you get in your base? You use way more spikes than I do, I just use a 2 high 2 deep and guns/explosives.

On the bottom floor of the tower is a ladder shaft that leads down to an underground tunnel, which goes 70 blocks south before coming to another ladder shaft that brings me up to the surface, sealed off with a hatch.

This was mostly a test. I'll refine the design in the future (by using less spikes).
