Cool - maybe a 18.x or 19/20 thing then. A follow on question then for fataal - will zeds specifically target junk turrets or ignore them?
Cheers

Edit: just read MM’s response - that makes sense, no worries. Maybe add targeting for zeds - a little like Division 2 where the heavies actively trash your turrets - have to balance the loss though with mods etc
The AI currently has no knowledge of turrets.

wait, so the hatch elevator gone for A18 or is this another bug? Not that I'm against fixing bug, but that a fun one.
The previous fix for that bug stopped the hatch elevator bug, but testers found another way to get pushed into walls, so I fixed it again.

I don't know where the 3 weeks figure is coming from but not every attribute has to be "equal" at every moment. Right now they are designed quite specifically to not do that.True equality is only possible if you make every build work exactly the same way, same kind of perks with different names.
Three weeks was coming from Madmole saying he wasn’t going to put points into INT until “around level 30-40”, so even then, my time frame is probably too soon (I’m guessing?). My point is that we were given the impression that all “builds” were viable without having to put points into other skill trees, but on his play through that’s obviously not the case. I would expect they should all be able to “come online” right from the start IF they are able to played without perking into other skill trees. It’s not really a big deal, but it’s something worth noting.

Thanks for acknowledging it and responding Gazz. :smile-new:

What's your definition of viable?

If viable (for example) must include the highest tier of Miner69 in order for you to have any fun with the game because anything less is too tedious and grindy then the Intelligence build will never be viable for you. That was just one example but you have to look at all the perks that you consider "must haves" at a high level and if they lie outside intelligence then you probably won't have fun playing primarily intelligence.

But if you can live with disadvantages elsewhere for the advantages of the intelligence build then of course it is viable. We just need to know what viable means to you.

Btw, there will be those who feel that they MUST be able to craft their own work stations and vehicles. To them, not doing the intelligence build will feel unviable....

80 damage per duck? I'm thinking more 67 ducks per spoon.

I don't think you have been playing A18 long enough to balance it that accurately with fantasy values.
67 ducks per rabbit sounds about right. And you might also be right. Not a random value though. Top tier m60 does 120~ damage from what it was shown to us. 80x2 = 160 damage with 2 turrets. 240 if 3 turrets. That's my raw point . Fantasy is cool and all. My brain pellets say that INT might not be cool enough because turrets musn't be all there is to it.

I liked a17 and knew it was a work in progress build sense all the overhauled stuff happened. POI structures looked good and the questing system was a good idea. Like you said a few months back a17 was just the framework and a18 will fill in the content.

There are Pros and Cons to both IMHO.
Im thinking that playing 7 days will never give you an STD.....but with sex you are more certain when the kraken will be released.
Don't lie, your kraken will not awaken anymore without a little help..

They only drop stone now, so yes they are massively reduced. They aren't even needed but look cool so we kept them. You'll have to find a mine of every type now to get started, but its not too hard. No more walmart rocks.
Wait.. You can get rocks at Walmart??

Damn.. Didn't see those last summer when I was there in the US.

Will any moving platforms like elevators or trains be a thing? If not I would still put in a subway stop that has both ends of the track collapsed as a poi.

Man this is getting me excited all over again. Keep videos coming and fixing those bugs. I see the release estimate and can only hope I can get it on my birthday on the 14th lol. Keep up the good work.

I guess as the Int guy you have to play smart. =P

I've seen this a lot all over A17 and before. Players "must" have perks because they are not vastly OP quickly enough.

IMO it's completely possible to work with unperked weapons and tools. They are not nearly as bad as some players make them out to be.

If they are blocked by it they will attack it. I haven't seen it happen though in my 300 hours testing 18.
Zombies getting pissed at and attacking vehicles has been going on since A16.x from what i recall, maybe before that as well. That being fixed will be nice. =)

I guess zombies would like it too.

Edit :

I just received the patch-note for alpha 18. There are really very interesting things (see pages 104, 176, 345 and 457). It's written a bit small though.

I would agree until the radiated show up (if zombies are the same as A17). Then you need some "Superior Firepower", especially in the ambush situations that some POI's are prone to have.

Because, "Fire and Maneuver": If your missing one the other better be good or you like dying. :)
