Don't know if this has already been brought up, but MM has already said they are including more POIs that are empty, no zombie spawns. This is deliberate so players will have options to stay places early game, without having to clear out a POI right before the witching hour.
I can't remember if that is in A18 or not.
No, they are not guaranteed to be empty. There is a chance for zeds to be there.

Madmole

I was testing a personal mod of sorts and found out something. I used the HM module from the

previous version, and made my own grayscale heightmap. It rendered without any socket

to terrain or biome conflicts all biomes rendered, and all pois were level.

Haidrna said that you may be planning to do something similar in the next alpha.

3d elevation terrain and poi placement.

Will the city splat remain the same as this alpha? Will the wilderness Group call be expanded?

So ... you want to place Grace in a cage at a place in your base, which zombies are about to raze in a certain phase. Which thing does this remind me of?
Oh yeah ...^^

That was pretty funny, thanks for the share. My first memory of Angela Lansbury is Bedknobs and Broomsticks. Brass knobs and boomsticks...

Sorry if I missed the thread, unless I am remembering wrong... ...did I read something a few weeks back about a new river gen system coming to a18?

If I am overlooking it, please post a link to the article. Thanks!

Nope, and I would probably throw the 13th out the window because this week is short. If things go well I would guess Friday the 20th, if we can't make that we'll postpone until Oct because of Twitchcon the end of Sept.
With 47 MF's I don't see that happening, but it could, new MF's are still added daily.

Remember these are optimistic madmole guesses, and not a TFP announcement.
So, right when my vacation will be over :(

I know it was a bit optimistic.

But you Sir, just broke my heart.

Don't worry, you still got the weekends.

Catch the videos without complaints from your parents: Just to all your homework - should work. :)

Are you talking about the horde night video? Because he doesn't die at all in that one - never mind six times.
Or is there a more recent game play video in which he dies repeatedly?
6 over the course of an 80 hour game in the player deaths stat. Most of them were a rough start, and one was taking on a tier 5 the first time ever and not knowing how much ammo I would need, and then soldiering on to the last 1/3 with zero ammo and just spiked knuckles and no meds, and the most recent was not respecting the bear den and the zeds melee damage and thinking I could just bang with them all around me and my armor would hold up. Like if I'd have just used my gun no problem, but I was testing to see how viable melee really is late game. I still need rank 5 perks, but you need to use fortbites and moonshine if you want to pure melee and not use doorway choke points.

I fired up a 17.4 game a while back just to see what changed for RWG, and found a couple of abandoned houses right away. One had a couple zombies in it, the other one was completely empty.

They apparently have condemned signs out front. Was able to fix up a decent amount to keep the weather out, as it were.

Yeah, it's labour day weekend. They deserve a rest too ;)
Yeah I'm not a fan of staying on the forums and skype to see what is going on on weekends. If your going to take time off do it right and stay off 100%. I check to make sure no critical things are needed of me and otherwise stayed checked out.

I saw your base and character video Joel. One thing caught my eye, the chainsaw. You'd think the chainsaw would be a viable weapon to cut up zombies, but the melee damage is so poor that a bare fisted punch does ever so slightly less damage. It'll be so awesome if the chainsaw did a decent amount of damage (perhaps even a mod or 2) so we could go around like we're Doom Guy, and with the nerf to gas, I don't think the chainsaw would be overpowered at all.
The display isn't really accurate though, it doesn't tally the rays or fire rate. Chainsaw is pretty good to cut up zeds AFAIK.

I remember very well. One of my first times was on top of a hardware store and there were 6 of them. They all spotted me and came after me and I ran to the edge and jumped off. Got hurt but didn't die. And then I noticed they didn't follow me. After that, not even a problem. (I had 11 of them once on top of a big poi. And, btw, they will STACK.)
Now, vultures, they did (do) follow you. You couldn't even 'hide' in water with the spitting ones. Those and spitting cops meant water was not very safe anymore... makes you really start looking into defensive structures...
I would like grace to be replacing vultures very late game since in rwg I rarely encounter grace

With the gas nerf in A18, I would saw the chainsaw would only be a viable weapon after you have an oil shale mine going on, if it will remain a viable weapon at all.
Its easy to maintain fuel with no oil shale for specfic tasks. If that were my main thing and I walked everywhere I'm sure I could get enough gas, especially with some harvest perks. Its just not worth it wasting gas on that though when a good fire axe is 90% as good and uses food for energy.

MM, as I understand it, the books in the game will mainly influence the character’s parameters. But I noticed that not all of the character's abilities were affected in books or perks.

Here I have in mind the throwing range of various objects, stones, Molotov cocktails, grenades and other things. Maybe it makes sense to add a perk or book to the game that will increase the throwing range of these items?

I understand that the Butter Up collection of books has been completed, but there may be some opportunity to add this ability to one of the books.

This ability is directly related to baseball and it was cool to be able to improve this ability. This can come in handy both in an early game to distract zombies, and in a late game when throwing grenades and other similar items.
