Proof_89 said nothing about realism, you misread his post. He was actually talking about fun, i.e. the fun of finding another lvl6 weapon even though you already have one.
Naturally you shouldn't have to swap out your gun every few days, because moving the mods to your new gun is a hazzle.

There is a mod forum section with lots of experienced modders for questions like this. KhaineGB for example knows a lot about making traders vulnerable.
I didn't misread their post. Maybe I misinterpreted it? I'm open to that idea.

 
as a person who owns a LOT of guns, you can always clean/repair a but and change out worn parts so you never loose that special gun. it might come an even better gun with the right mods.
I never liked Rust system of it gets worse over time even when you repair it because in real life if a part like a fireing pin or spring wears, I just get a new one and back to 100%
Yeah it doesn't add anything to game play other than an artificial way of extending the need to go get new stuff, which we don't need now in A18, the desire to loot is easily at least 80-200 hours IMO.

 
The trick to building a tree farm, is planting them so they look natural and planting more than just 1 type of tree. Its not the most officiant way of having a tree farm but this will greatly reduced the noticeable footprint left in the game world and on the map.

edit: I was thinking about if trees leave a mark on the map, I cannot remember. So the statement about the trees leaving a footprint on the map might be wrong, I could be thinking of dirt and boulders...
Currently, I plant them as randomly as I can (height and non-grid), but they always grow to level 1200. It's like having an old growth forest with all the trees being the same height. I know it's a nitpick to want a bit of randomization on regrowth, but if it's possible...I think it might add to the polish of the game. I'll live either way...

yes there is, and he is good, but what I asked isnt able to be done in a17. I believe all he did was turn off trader protection, not be able to flip it on and off. And, as far as I know, Khaine doesnt have access to a18

Btw, remember to tell the sound creators that combat music has to have a few second delay and/or NEVER start full volume, and only start when:

1-The enemy is 2 meters away/very close

2-You hit an enemy

3-30 seconds after the enemy notices you but can't catch you, overridable by point 1,2 and 4.

4-You get hit by an enemy.

Anything else would give away that there's an immediate danger without even seeing it and spoil the fun and the survival aspect of the gameplay.

Oblivion and Morrowind does that BAD. You always know when you are in combat without seing the enemy. Later Fallout games do that better.

I think he was just pointing out that there is a potential downside to that gun that does more damage. As you noticed my AK needed a few repairs in the heat of combat, that can cause some issues.
Is me or do guns in game need repairs more often?

Wow, nice! I mean having everything is endgame for me so I'm really looking forward to Alpha 18.

 
No I said no steam workshop until gold, you can mod since alpha 1.
yes, that is the modding is available. but you said that tools and such for modding would not be made til later. atm modders are on their own. I was just curious how much more freedom we would have in a18 and what code changes have been implemented that we can take advantage of when making mods

The only limits are self imposed. Anything is possible. Clear back in 2006 custom animations were impossible in Oblivion until me and a programmer solved it.

not quite, many things are still pretty hardcoded, which imposes limits. not wanting to argue tho, so will move to just asking for info. gimme a sec, stripper attacking the door, be back after I axe her:

what some of us would like to do would involve turning trader protections on and off, but the isnt available through the xml's yet. I would like to know what things have been opened up in a18?
