I know this has been answered but I either forgot or missed it.
I'd it true that every single perk in the game can be got in a schematic?

If you find a perk schematic but dont have the proper attribute can you still use it?
No its not true. You can find schematics that mimic a portion of what some perks do, but most of the perks have some other bell and whistle that crafting x doesn't provide.

There is no such thing as a perk schematic. There are schematics that unlock recipes.

There are no requirements to read schematics, but workstation gates still apply, so if you find a schematic to craft a chainsaw you still need the workbench and to get the ingredients or meet the requirements to craft the ingredients (like steel, etc)

@Kage (forgot to Reply with Quote),
Potentially down the road, the worst I can see of not going stealth (and this may be an exaggeration) will be like ignoring the trader. While you can certainly live your 7 Days to Die life without visiting the trader at all, you'll be at a disadvantage for doing so. It wouldn't be large enough to be a cause for concern, but going stealth (especially if you're low on ammo) would be highly recommended vs raiding a POI with the aim of a storm trooper. :p

There is the quest to requires you to kill chickens with a nail gun. Anyone with a lack of patience or has a tendency to rage is locked out of that quest. :p In all seriousness though, no, and you have a point.

As long as going stealth isn't the true end-all-be-all, and never will be, I think everyone will be fine.

You're not the only one. Lol I spent the entire night contemplating on what skill tree to go for in A18. :p Yes, I'm stubborn and indecisive, I admit it. Haha
Yes its no different than ignoring the buried treasure quests. I do them now because they are a great night time quest to do and I have 42,000 spare clay :)

Hey Madmole. I wanted you let you know that it's not 762 ammo but 7.62 ammo. Normally I wouldn't bother with this but I've seen you make that mistake twice already.
Just so you know. :)
No ♥♥♥♥ captain obvious :) I'm crunching to get a build out and your busting my balls for some abbreviation?

See this is an issue for me I like the idea in general. But we should be aware of what perks DONT have books for them. I dont wanna be waiting for a book that desent exist.

Sniper rifle takes 7.62 in the CLIP and is not single shot. Lol
Every book perk is unique and the only way to do that.

Every buyable perk in the game that unlocks a crafting recipe, there is also a schematic out there you can find that lets you craft the same thing, but the schematic won't give you any other perks the perk does, like craft x 10% faster or whatever.

Your post was taken entirely as sarcasm, but some people are actually interested in the discussion so you were given a valid response (with some additional sarcasm for your enjoyment).
You are entertaining the notion of tying all loot to zombie kills and not everyone wants to play that way. Stealth is a major feature of the game that would need to be addressed. Stealthing through a POI past all the zombies would have zero value without found loot.
I just reread your original post. When I first read it, I thought you wanted the loot multiplier triggers to be activated by killing all the zombies in a random sleeper volume, as opposed to just passing through. Stealth would indeed be less legitimatized in both my joke suggestion and my original interpretation of your post, and that is part of why it didn't seem like a good idea.

A few days ago I found several such instances in localisation. Caliber 44 would be much bigger than what an Iowa class battleship had so a little dot can make quite the difference. ;)

You are confusing a magazine for a clip. A clip is just a string of bullets that can feed a magazine or "holder of five" or whatever for putting them in easily then you toss the clip. The clip never goes into the gun, its a convenient box is all. All our guns that shoot bullets have mags except the hunting rifle which is single shot.

some will be confused but most likely inside of 1 week most people will be used to it.
oh just pokin' fun... it's descent not desent... :)

actually the books are more interesting to find and read to me than the perks... i tend to forget about spending points... :)
That is a great way to die. Perks are where all the true power is.

yep, my British Lee Enfield 303 uses a striper clip to load 5 rounds through the open bolt. with the optional magazine you could load 10 or two striper clips. you could not load via the magazine but only through the bolt 1 at a time manually or 5 at a time with a stripper clip.

so I see a mod option for a stripper clip that increases speed loading of the sniper :) like a bandolier does for other guns

When you buy the perk for a crafting recipe it usually also includes a bonus as well. The schematic has no bonus. It is simply the recipe knowledge.
So if you buy the perk and then find the schematic you can read the schematic simply for xp. It will give you no other benefit.

If you find the schematic and then later buy the perk you will gain the bonus the perk offers even though you already know the recipe.

Reading a schematic gives you the crafting recipe even if you don’t qualify yet for its corresponding perk.
Obviously this is subjective - but do you find the extra bonuses are enough to make you still want to spend a point on a perk for which you already have recipe part because you've read the schematic?

Sometimes-- when you have to in order to get to the next higher perk for sure... grrrrr

I would dearly love to see some really huge POIs. Ones that might take a stealth player a week to fully run.

Just a wag on my part but huge POIs came to mind when occlusion started being discussed. And another wag makes me think the state data for 'not completed yet' POIs might be managable if it wasn't every POI.

Say a new massive POI like an international airport were added. There could be a bunch of individual POIs as part of the 'complex', like hangers and parking garages. Those could use current system; reset if player/s leave for 15 seconds. But maybe Terminal 1 & 2 are each larger than the current skyscrapers; those could be a bunch of sections/areas that would maintain state until the entire terminal was completed.
Back in A12, I used to loot Diersville like it was one huge POI. It would be pretty cool if the town itself was given the dungeon treatment, with some of the houses as optional sub-dungeons, and the hospital as the boss dungeon.

That is a great way to die. Perks are where all the true power is.
I'm gonna try a a18 new game up to level 50ish just to see how all the systems play out, but I could see myself modding out 90% of the schematics from the perk tree so that you have to loot almost everything.

Perks would still be great for the bonuses, but I like being locked out of a minibike or something else just as critical as it makes gameplay different and desperate each new game.
