Not at default it doesn't unless you perk into it. Which imo is fine btw, one of the first perks I buy is for healing max health.
I was talking about health regeneration (1 point / minute without perk), not max health. I hope max health will never regenerate naturally. It should be the contrary as soon as you're injuried ^^.

Me too, and I organize my tool belt similarly, the "left to right" tendency is far more due to our learned method of reading than it is which hand is dominant, Blake, the human brain is indeed an interesting thing, even it's mistakes have explanations...
Funny you should mention that. I reverse the direction of the scroll wheel in the options because i visualize scrolling up as reading from left to right on my toolbelt and scroll down is right to left.

Your absolutly right on, as reading is the exact thing I thought about when first thinking of the best layout for the toolbelt and the binding of buttons on the mouse.

EDIT: Tip, Due to the human brain tending to interact with the world like this. One must remember that you do not need to scroll the toolbelt from left to right in order to reach the desired slot. Sometimes, if slot 1 is highlighted and the desired slot is the last one, sroll from right to left. This for me was a conscious thing i thought about when first training myself to utilize the layout in the most optimized and officiant way possible.

They already break with one hit. I want to make them climbable at some point.
I think that would be an improvement, but since the player can retrieve/place them on the fly with zero loss, they will still be able escape with ease or prevent zombies from following them in most situations.

To what end? Why gimp building when it will still be possible to put ladders on POIS to get inside?
We did this little experiment where we required nails for frames, which of course meant that frames were not readily available... and I'll tell you, it was hella fun. No more easy escape routes, no more bypassing dangers... totally changed the feel of the game.

And building took more thought too, so for us it was a win/win. Not quite the same as removing nerd polling, but the net effect was the same, and it added difficulty AND removed cheesiness.

That video was stupid, but I did get a few laughs.
But seriously, I suppose that is what I get for recording my vids in one take and no editing and no script. I think I'm getting a little better about it now but I don't know, I don't listen to my videos either. I will probably upload the wrong one sometime lol.
Honestly J man, I think they're better that way. First point to you is that you don't have a stupid 30 second intro graphic wasting my time, second point to you is that you don't spend 4 to 10 minutes describing what your video is going to show. No, you get straight to it, and yeh people DO LEARN from watching people make "mistakes". So no shame in your game.

next thing will be people saying you cant run past the zombies you have to stop and fight them. (btw, isnt me because i love melee with them i go outta my way to find and kill zombies with a club) :)

oooh oooh yes... @guppy... i refuse to watch those videos with long intros and loud obnoxious music too. :)

Yeah, "might need to eat and drink..." is not what I expect in a survival game. Again, I don't think I'm alone in that.
The last couple alphas have slowly chipped away at every feature that drew me to this game. Instead of those features being refined and expanded on they are being stripped out/dumbed down. I didn't pick this game looking for a "shooter looter with a thirst bar."

Don't want to sound like im raving about the end of the world. I've gotten hundreds of hours of fun for my $20 so more than a fair deal. But, at this point, I am starting to doubt I will even play the gold version. But even if I don't, I'll eagerly await your next game and buy into early access for it too. This has been the best EA experience I've ever been involved in.
Seems a little dramatic. I was just saying as an argument point that food is all you need to be in the survival genre. If anything the game is getting deeper into survival again with real infection, food poisoning is real now, and we're overhauling all the broken debuffs from 17. Looting is king not crafting (improves survival), and feeling like you need a million things all the time to me makes A18 feel like the best survival game I've ever played by far.

Survival doesn't mean sharp sticks and making players crawl over broken glass to enjoy the game, it means survival mechanics. Anyhow I think you will like 18, it certainly puts survival back into the game more than ever IMO. I'm constantly eyeballing my meds now.

I'm not even trying to be a professional youtuber. Just showing the game so people can see the progress. I'm not about to waste precious game dev time trying to make perfect videos. A great game will take care of itself and produce great videos IMO.

OMFG, clubs are sick now. We got in the ability to play sound hit overrides and the bats feel so satisfying. I fixed the skins and need to cook a build and I'll cover the baseball books (clubs) and demo it, its freaking great.

I'm right handed.
xD damn the 50% chance of being a seer . Then I get the logic behind putting all your damage weapons on the right side close to your right arm, but it is not optimal. The game starts with everything on the left . What if you log in a server and have to get ready as soon as possible but in the 15 seconds that took you to get everything and order things they headshot you?

Damn man. It's a dangerous world.

(joking the whole time. This advise only works in Rust to a useful degree lol).

As long as TFP have robust modding tools I'm not too concerned, I stopped playing vanilla long ago after playing for thousands of hours (though I'm looking forward to 18).

It's all about modded 7DTD, you want complex, True Survival mod for 16.2, get a zombie bite you had to heat up a iron pipe with a fire, then cauterize the wound, then sew up the wound with a needle and sinew then keep applying sanitized bandages to it for it to eventually get healed.

Now that some depth! If you didn't have any of that (everything was super rare) you'd eventually wither away and die.

For 17 there's RavenHearst and Darkness Falls if you want to bump up complexity and difficulty.

Like I said only the modding tools matter because you can make the game you want after you find vanilla too easy.

There is a reason I have over 4000 hours on this game.

lol. It would literally to a full page of text to explain in perfect detail every thought i had when creating this layout for me. each and every item has an exact spot. The reason each item is in each slot, the time it takes to scroll from one item to another. A wall of text i tell you lol. For me, this is years of perfecting the perfect layout for my playstyle in this game. I considered everything from every possible combination to my brains reaction time, everything. lol, I think to much and to deeply in to things including this games toolbelt lmao ;)

EDIT: this is going to sound really arrogant, but I think extremely deep when it comes to this game because I'm motivated to be the best player in the world for 7D2D. With confidence I can say I'm one of the best. I've only ever met 1 other player that is better than me. I'm not talking little stuff like building methods and stuff.

Until the day another player can get close at killing me or actually kill me and or get from level 1-100 without any deaths most games on hardest difficulty.....I'll keep thinking this and keep being motivated to remain one of the best. LOL I sound like an a-hole

No but with items having random stats the search for good stuff is a lot more fun than combining 20000 guns into something finally useful and is the same as everyone elses.
Oh right, of course. I forgot about the random stats. Thanks for answering.

I will say this and say it clearly : Sledgehammer animation sux compared to the a17.4 based on all the streamings. The club is also affected.

The visual blow has to go all the way down for it to feel satisfying .

Talking out of my butt here, so I guess we can get used to anything as long as the final outcome is better than the starting one, which doesn't appear to be the case here. I will wait for a18 for further insight into the matter :spy:

I just wish that in the next alphas food/water become a non-issue more slowly/progressively towards the "end-game". If you stockpile a ton of food or find a pot they quickly become irrelevant and I think that's a shame. It would also be nice if you rewarded the player with more progressive survival QOL with electrical stuff like, say, a well that refills bottles automatically, purifier without needing coal, oven for better recipes, and so on. (Maybe even a fridge :p )

Well somehow I feel like you can back your words with plenty of facts and thousands of hours.

I use a similar system. In fact, almost exactly the same but in a mirror from yours (fighting stuff on the left) And I usually go all kage-like into the POIs without dying (I use 2 shooting weapons and 1 melee, with knife on the 4th slot. Then bandages then the 3 tools. Hammer/nailgun isn't needed in the belt for the likes of me. The building belt would be with 1 less weapon and 1 hammer/nailgun.

I don't like blades for fighting but that's just me. Current 17.4 I can achieve lvl 32 at day 7 with a basic base.

Yeah its fascinating to see how others layout there toolbelt and overall play the game. I believe everyone has a unique way that best fits them. And sometimes adopting the methods and or tactics of others that we might not otherwise have thought about in order to increase our skills. One reason why I am so open to hearing how others play or opinions of how to best play the game or handle a situation. Golden rule, always be willing to learn and adjust.

EDIT: one way i sharpened my skills is 99% of the time i play i have the only goal of not dieing one time till i reach level 100. If i die I start a fresh game or leave the server if online, or contact the admin of the server and have my save deleted. <----do that for years and you will sharpen those skills in 7D2D trust me. :)
