On the food issue, the change is how food really works. Canned food is sterilized before sealing the can so the only way for bacteria to get in(bacteria are the cause of food poisoning) is for a hole or some other physical damage to the can. Cooked food is the number one cause of food poisoning.
Not cooking to the proper temperature or not storing at the proper temperature allows bacterial growth. Radiation, in fact, is a currently used technique for some food sterilization though probably not the same radiation in the game. This is from a former job I held as health inspector which, by the way, made me wonder why more people don’t get food poisoning due the conditions I saw in a lot of restaurant kitchens.
This is very true. However, I personally believe that canned food should still give you a chance of food poisoning, as canned food does not last forever; only three years at least and several years at the most.

I don't post cuz I usually get in trouble.
Regarding demolish zeds. If I could make a suggestion.

Just repurpose a regular zed with red instead of green color to test the mechanics. New wire frames and such are enough of a pain. Might just check what is known and works with a new dynamic to see if it actually works.

Yall have probably already though of this but, if not, just a thought. Could even just add it if the new wire frame needs work before release.
No need. It is done. Someone might fiddle with the numbers, but I say good enough.

There could simply be a more advanced "sunk in" relay, that hides (invisible) any wires connected to another sunk relay. This way there is a plausible way to make wires hidden, along longer paths of a wall, without hiding them completely.

(Any wire between those relays will only show up when equipping the wire tool)

-> thinking about making hidden wires without large changes to the code here.
Like wall safes or those morgue drawers. Have their connectors inside the wall. You could even hide them behind a hatch or door then, since they won't take up room other than the wall block itself.

Could open up some hidden room poi thingy, with a switch sunk inside a wall, behind a picture or something, opening up a hidden door. Make use of that new automatic drawbridge feature :)

Canned food dates are a guess. That is their safe, please throw this away and buy more date. I've eaten many cans of food 4-5 years past the date and was fine.

i have eaten c-rations dated for vietnam ordeal.... when i was in the miltary 76-83 :) the only thing i dont play around with is dairy products and meat once opened... 3 days MAX in cold fridge.

Hidding them is a thank god from us . It's not even a "it doesn't change gameplay" Because you will also be fixing the annoying visual bug when you do everything in your hand to hide them and they get weirdly displaced on relog/chunk reload/whatever is happening there leaving them in the middle of the air connected to nothing.
Are you sure the bug would be automatically fixed, even if you have a wire tool in your hand? Seems more like the bug would be better hidden. :cocksure:

yes... and no...

Canned food CAN be held more or less indefinatly (10-30 years)

but depending on quality of the metal/insulation temperature and so on, they can get poisonous very quickly...

generally I would not advise to do this if you have other options.

But yes cans are incredibly good at preserving food. And I think since they were made before the outbreak, them not having poisonchance is a good thing.

Although I would like an endgame way to sterilize my own food...

but if food poisoning is only barfing it back up now and not reducing speed hp or anything, I don't care really.

We do PVE and appreciate the wires, just sayin'. It is kind of fun to determine how we're going to build a base and route the wires. I'll often build full on power poles with power lines and transformers. A nice solar array from the nearby power station running lines cleanly around the outside of my base and running the various functions. I vote for "leave em in".

MM - Thanks for the lighting tweaks to adjust for balance. I agree with the others who stated that the Spotlights...ain't. They are so dim, they are useless compared to what they used to be in A16. Maybe they're worn out? We should upgrade them to Halogen bulbs harvested from the Adult Theater...And give us the ability to make custom Gobo (light plate etching) patterns. I need me some Batman shining up into the clouds or on the side of the Higashi tower.

I agree leave them in. Gives it a rustic feel. Its very easy to make a mod for it hidden that removing them will do more harm than good

Yeah, it will only be a temporary visual bug that appears from time to time only when you have your tool in hand and are looking at a finished wiring design. Everything else will be working perfectly and nothing is stopping the devs to fix it afterwards.

That, is "if". Would it even need to be fixed in this day an age? I mean we play Bethesda games, right? sounds like a venereal bug to me, lol.

Wires serve zero gameplay purpose (you don't cut wires to disable someone's power, you interface with the powered object) so why make it confusing and have it behind a perk? I'd either leave it alone or change it so they only show when you have a wire tool out, leaning on "leave it alone" tbh.
Please change to only visible when using the wire tool, assuming it isn't a ton of work.

Just drop it. Wiring is perfectly fine the way it is. Geez, you're acting like a spoiled little kid demanding more presents for their birthday.
