Things wear out.

That's the first thing I say to myself before I buy anything.

I would rather spend less than 1k on a sofa that friends and family can sit on comfortably, or even sleep on, eat on, etc. Kids come over and jump on it, pets jumping on it, perhaps a guest over for just a visit previously sat on some gum, left a pen in their pocket... who knows.

A couple years later, throw it out and get another. In a few decades you end up spending the same amount, but those were years of no stress worrying about it.

Yeh those rounds are what, at least a buck a piece?
On the lower side try over $3 a round. If you buy in large bulks they go for maybe $2.87 a round. High quality rounds I've seen above $12 each.

When we took it out to test shoot it last week...the ammo we bought was $5 a round...every time we shot it , we called out $5 , $10 , $15!

Yeah it can get expensive shooting it and a few other guns we have...But we do not shoot those particular ones often...We put 50 rounds down range on that Barret to break it in!

Stages in life dictate the quality of things I buy.

Kids? 399.99 table, 499.99 sofa.

Older kids? 4k table, 4k sofa.

If we ever get invaded I'm either going to Nevada, Arizona, or Texas lol.

That's pretty much the polar opposite mechanic to Borderlands :-)

Speaking of nice cars, any chance we could get a Tesla in game? Battery powered transportation with the option to recharge with Solar? It may be the apocalypse, but I'd like to reduce my carbon footprint nonetheless!

Been gone a while , wow A18 got some good stuff coming. The junk turret is way cool. Dynamic Music System is the win. New aggressive animals! the books, omg lockpick(about F time), Shammer variations, woot spears!

The Junk Turret name is kinda lame though. How about like McGyver Turret or Redneck Turret or Duct-O-Turret.

Did you know the Lunar Excursion Modules (landers) were built with a lot of tinfoil and duct tape? McGyver had nothing on NASA!

Not going to spend hours on this forums, but wanted to comment on 1 more thing cause I know there is reams of threads on this:

No Learn by Doing in A18

My vote is never bring it back, at least not in it's old form and it should never be the main gating system or leveling system..If brought back, should be a minor supplemental system at best. Learn by doing encouraged grinding, IMO.

No, but maybe Joey can give you a ride in his and crank your neck like he did to me lol. Voxels would never support a car that fast.

I can pay my rent and full living expenses for a full year on 10k :) the different worlds people are living in ;)
I lived a roller coaster of flying high and then living frugal in between game dev contracts. Mostly frugal living though making it as a game dev in the 90's and 2000 era was very hard, publishers had everything on lock down. I got into rentals and became a paper millionaire by 2012 or so, then the game took off. So I've lived on all ends of the spectrum. I'd never borrow money for anything though except maybe a house you can build equity with or real estate you can pay with other peoples money for a nice net profit. I did without a lot of things for years, like no cable tv, drove my old truck (that was well kept) etc.

I definitely paid my dues, but I think it was worth it. I'm just glad people don't call me about their clogged toilets anymore lol. I sold about all my rental property now.

I'm not super thrilled about slow leveling. But there is 2 upsides to it.
1 I can raise the exp %

2 lower gamestage for longer means you dont need as many levels. Now that's balance people!
I don't think we really need to slow levelling. I am playing Nazegame, and with 120 minutes time and 200% experience on day 8 I reach 60 level only. Now, I make it 100% exp. And now I am leaving that game as I already spend 16 hrs on it .. and still cannot make Jeep. It we slow it further even with 60 minutes default setting, it means you can make jeep around 24/25 hrs of game play (considering you level 3 on default setting per day).. do we really think that is good play time.

A few years ago I was checking out your old properties you were renting out. I always wondered if you stayed in the real estate business after making so much from 7d2d. Why check out your properties, i was extremely bored at 3am so I decided to look in to your career lol, and I was honestly interested in your backround in gaming. like how you got to the point of creating a game after Bethesda never got back to you regarding your application. You should write a book about your life man, regarding your career in the video game industry.

Sounds like an interesting life indeed. And money only exists to be spent, hoarding it devalues it, if I'm getting that concept right.

Buy all the sofas you want my man, enjoy the perks of success, you are helping others to grow along the way.

And yeah, not going into debt to buy casual things was the best move I've made in my life. Not having debt is a game changer imo. more people should try it :)
