Can make them harvest only instead of pickup. Then your getting trace amounts of fuel.
Please no. I love saving the barrels from the idiocy of the zeds.

A lot of those barrels have a sleeper right beside them. When you wake them up, what do they do first thing? Take a swing.

BOOM!

While funny in a way, grabbing those barrels is kind of a mini quest. Save them up until I can covert them to gas, and that IS

a ways down the perk trees.

There are a finite number of them, so yes, sooner or later, we're going to have to go digging in the desert looking for shale.

So really, the barrels are a non-issue.

How about a few more recipes for some of the foods though. (all those cans of stuff, was mentioned before) :)

Also, in that vein, need a bit more amusing things for some raw foods.

In the BEER vs grain alcohol, we can make BEER (good!), and what do I do when the map generates 213 potato patches?

(NO! I did not tweak that, it's what it did on its own. 160 corn, and 126 blueberry for the other 2 btw. 8k map.)

Can you say Vodka and Gin? I knew you could.

:applause:

I am lately seeing guys are saying "Too easy" for one or other part. They want to make game difficult by making everything come to kill you and you left with no food. If you think game is too easy why not try to play it in difficult settings ?
Even in real life if you ever get in situation like 7DTD, you will find a way to live with comfort, you get in routine where you know how Zed attacks you and you don't have to prepare for horde night on 7th day. it can happen, any day, night without information. So you can do the same with new game settings. Been a game they already make few things difficult and few easy for game play.

I think instead of food Spoilage, you can ask for variant Stack, i.e. either you get a mode will reduce food stack from say 500 meat to just 1. and go enjoy your food :) . Corn from 500 to 10, like that. it do same thing.

Having said that I do suggest with difficult in game play from setting, Stack get reduce or increase too. This way who thing game is easy for them can play difficult level, else play normal or easy level.
The art of balancing is finding that spot where half your players whine because it is too low and the other half whines because it is too high :cocksure:

(Disclaimer: Don't take the word "half" in that rule too seriously, it never is that easy).

If you think difficulty can be generated by lowering stack size, sorry, not that easy. Mostly it adds a lot of micro-management that translates into a little more difficulty and lots of routine work.

Just imagine stack size 1 for all food. Nothing that can't be solved with always eating up in the morning and food stashes along your roads, nearly trivial as soon as you got a bike, but LOTS more micro-management. Difficulty is only added indirectly because all of that and the need to go to stashes for healing costs time.

No-no, this does not apply to the topic of RWG - this is about another.
I asked only what is written - actually. Without a hint.

Some blocks are missing for a long time, for example - a desktop PC, which your prefab designers are trying to portray with the help of TVs.

I think - making this 3D-model - a win-win situation.

In any case, it will be in demand, but, you still haven't done it.

It seems to be a logical step....?
You are talking about the past when we couldn't add a single texture without removing something, so the designers were forced into hodge podging things together to try and simulate what they want. Now that unity has streaming we can add whatever we want, so far anyway without any huge issues. That said, we already added a desktop PC, I just haven't shown it yet.

Actually, i didn't say transport was absurd on its own. But the transport on the map with a size of 2x2 meters, it is of course absurd.
UPD:

Ah....I must apologize again.

I wrote this is not about transport, but about your assumption that Aloe need seek far.

Sorry. My bad. I was inconsistent in my writing.
Maybe, but I see fat asses drive to get their mail at the end of the their driveway or drive to the corner store half a block from where they live. Its a convenience feature that is 100% optional as in real life. I don't see anyone running a 2k map though, Nav is now 6k and frankly I don't walk to the desert in that, I wait until I get a vehicle unless the resources are all dried up.

Well, you don't have to use all of it, I would assume it's a multi-module plugin from which you can use only certains aspects as needed. Or maybe even some ideas, if you have access to the source code.

At some point you gotta choose some decent arguments if you wanna confront someone's ideas. Vehicles are useful for any small trip given it's a huge gain of time not losing a couple of IG hours per day going to and back from somewhere. Let alone 8x8km which is huge and takes an enormous amount of time to explore fully. Do you guys actually explore the map in straight lines ? I mean it's 8x8x8, that's a ♥♥♥♥ton of voxels to render... and POIs to loot. I can't fathom how map size is a relevant problem unless you play on huge no-respawn servers. And even then, if it's a high pop server, it seems like a pretty logic thing to meet other players that fight for the same goods.
You can't just drop in one portion of code and make it work easily. Its just not that easy. We talked to this guy some years ago and he wanted 200k.

Wow, that's ridiculous. That's two years worth of salary for a full time senior developer in this country

Uhhh I don't use vehicles tyvm! And it was a ->Joke<- about getting rid of the vehicles, but not a joke to make the mountains, cliffs, canyons rougher for the vehicles to transverse.
Lets always include a smiley emoticon if we're joking so people know you are, its not like we can hear your tone of voice in text. Or if you want to remark on something you are happy about :)

If we supported 64k maps then they would complain the vehicles are way too slow.
MM I would hold off on adjusting Vehicles right now. I think that with the rivers and lakes coming to RWG in A18 should in effect "Slow down" people traversing the map. also it will make the Gyro relevant for since its creation. currently when you generate a new RWG map you small pools of water no lakes or anything also very little in the way of mountains. So if you look at it in its current state the map is just a giant 16x16 flat zone with less than 1% of the map having a natural barrier to navigate around. so you can just B line it to where you need to go and not worry about hitting a lake or have a huge mountain range be in your way. at worst you just make some slight turns to get around it

I think once you gives us vehicle mods that when those mods are installed not only do you get the benefit but it consumes more fuel now. those two things combined IMO will "fix" the vehicle issue.

Hopefully next week we can see a video of this.
This will be my go to weapon of choice. Wish the heavy attack was an uppercut but I'll settle for that right hook :fat:
Remember: New animations coming... :)

Well since the range of fists is very poor I thought who in their right mind will buy this perk if you have to get that close and personal because you'll be getting hit a lot more than a guy with a rangier melee weapon, so I came up with the concept that you knock out their teeth and remove their infection buff.

as strange as it may seem (then again, if you know me, you know its not strange)... I Do Not use vehicles and i rarely make a map bigger then 4K, I also exclusively do melee, dont waste my time with guns. :)
as it has and will be pointed out... not everyone plays the game the same way and shouldnt, thats why there are choices. :)
I'm a big believer in making a fun sandbox and give the players toys and let them create their own experience.

Sweet. From what I heard, occlusion culling can improve performance in the 30% range. Never worked for me that well though, it usually is more like in the 15-20% range for heavy hitting object-rich scenes/games (like 7dtd) .

Will it make it to a18? Had to ask. We dream, you make. LOL.
Initial test of entity culling while viewing dishong towers went from 58 to 70 fps. The popping when you flick your wrist is a showstopper though.

Whereas at the moment on 16k multiplayer maps they're complaining that the vehicles are redundant because there isn't enough space to require them.
If only there was a number between 16 and 64. :-)
This is generally a fringe player request and it works against our goal of optimizing the game. If it happens someday, great, but for now we'll be happy to get 16k working and not take more than half an hour to an hour on a potato.

What about 100x2 Maps.. You can do gamemods or end missions with this. You and your Friends needs to go through a wasteland full of danger "mad Max Style"..

This + the horde Mode adds Gameplay for those Who have little time to play.
AFAIK everything is imaged base, so power of 2.

Hey Madmole, you did such a great job on creating books, how about a set of books for player "Health"?Just as Examples:

Leatherneck- Reduces chance of Bleeding by %

Iron Gut- Reduce chance of Food Poisoning by %

Hard Headed - Reduce chance of Stun by %

Tippy Toe- Reduces natural movement sounds by %

Pitcher's Arm- Increase throw distance by %

Blue Blood- Bleed damage taken lessened each second by %

Read all 6- Seal Deal - Suffer no penalty for wearing heavy/light armor while sneaking.

I am sure you can do better but I thought I would toss the idea your way.
Its been a boatload of work to do the 100+ we have, but I'd be down for a few more sets for a19 if we feel like I left a gaping hole in one particular area. (Which we might have). Those are good examples though.

I like, hopefully his books have touched every aspect of the game. If not, maybe down the line some.
There are a few areas I know aren't really fleshed out but I was kind of stuck so we just implemented what I had, as ideas come easier later after you play and see what might be nice. Mostly the books augment a particular weapon or play style.
