Are you talking about level 1 noobs, or perked up 200 stamina rule number one cardio guys? Are you fully armored?

What happens when you run out of stamina?
That's fine for the default sprint but the new "nightmare" option setting should be nightmarish and it isn't.

Sorry for not being specific. On nightmare speed (no buffs, or debuffs):

-Without heavy armor, as a level 1 noob without perks I can outrun them forever with ease. Even have the time to turn aim and shoot and keep running, watch the scenery, loot etc. Not exaggerating.

-With full steel armor (all pieces) at level 1 with no perks, player sprinting is faster but stamina runs out and stamina regeneration is not enough to increase the distance between you and them so they can get you.

-With full steel armor and 5/5 cardio, I can outrun them barely, but reliably (stamina regeneration is enough to keep a steady distance between us).

That's fine for the default sprint but the new "nightmare" option setting should be nightmarish and it isn't.
Exactly. Would be nice if from these 4 speed settings, 1 of them was fast enough so that players aren't possibly able to avoid zombies, with or without armor. Would be great to have this kind of speed setting, especially for horde nights, so that there is a practical reason to barricade and build defenses.

Not when I played it. I played solo and got a sizable castle with fenced in farm animals and it got unplayable.
You either used a bad computer, or a very old version on minecraft... Or most probably you didn't set it up correctly, i.e. give it enough ram(default is 1GB, but needs more like 4)

I have a suggestion about the perks, why not have a new category of general perks: Examples of what could go in here are: Miner 69'er, Motherload, the hunting one etc.

LOL ok, me with a bad computer? I always have had the best fastest PCs since forever. I take my gaming very seriously. So that said, it was 7 years ago or so, so probably an older version of Minecraft.

Anyhow making comparisons to something with 10 polygons on screen compared to millions is pointless.

This time around you brought up Minecraft yourself :)

But I admit I made comparisons between the 2 in the past..

I guess there were some changes to root motion that would be too hard to port to 17. 18 will have a true nightmare mode.

Those are fine under strength. Have you ever held a pickaxe? I'm strong AF and those things are insane to actually wield. Would destroy any normie.

Someone said, why can't you do it because minecraft can.... well we're not minecraft. If our zombies were legos and our view distance 10 meters and skeletons having 3 bones, lots more could be done lol.

To us a fully destroyable world was a key feature, and with that comes sacrifices of performance, difficulty doing AI and a lot of unorthodox problems.

I can do both. I like SP for that omega man experience, doing it all on my own has a certain level of satisfaction. But playing with others can be fun too, watching them get rekt never gets old.
Or throwing bows at zombies when you run out of arrows! (Sounds better than just dropping a bow in the middle of a horde night...)

Btw- I don't believe for an instant that anyone with over like 50 hours has never had a 'brain fart' moment. And, sometimes, those can be really incredible moments in the game. (I have a few when trying to build zombie pyramids - in game. (No 'cheating'.). (Ok - just the AI...)

Thx for the update Love the dismemberment working so much :) Boom headshot is Op from tier 1 amazing!

The maps may be a bit to loaded in cities and towns for my taste, but RWG seems better needs finer tuning that's it.

Can't wait for A18 and will scratch 17.3 to the bones.

i smell a little sarcasm... ^^
What no, Rusts boats are f'n sweet. No Buoyancy, real physics, you have to push it into the water. Very well done, kudos Garry. You can shoot the boat and watch em sink lol.

Actually Minecraft java edition has a load distance of up to 32 chunks and bedrock edition actually goes far beyond that, I believe something like 96 chunks, which is a hell of a lot more than 7DTD's, which I believe it's 12? Maybe I don't remember it right. Anyhow you have distant terrain, which Minecraft doesn't have, but arguably doesn't need. Also distant terrain doesn't work as well, for example the problem of destroyed POI another guy just mentioned.

Man, Minecraft has evolved so much from your old memories. Please consider giving it a go again. You would notice so many positive things you didn't expect. And maybe take inspiration for 7dtd..

Boom headshot is deleted in A18, you get the headshot damage by leveling the attribute now, no need to buy a load of perks spread among various attributes just to get adequate.

I would like the game to be easy to learn but have fairly deep game play. At the heart its about scavenging, crafting and tower defense. We'll have some light RPG elements like quests and npc events. I'd like it to support casuals to hardcore through various options and fulfill most zombie apocalypse scenarios. The elevator pitch was always The Walking Dead meets Fallout in a fully destroyable world like minecraft.
A great idea would be difficulty presets. For example, the hardest difficulty would make all the zombies run at nightmare speed, you lose your items on death, etc.. Because newbies aren't willing to mess around with options, they just choose the difficulty.

Better yet, in addition to that, make some more options presets for servers or for some different gameplay. For example, you could do a "Chaos Around" preset with zombies running all day and night and random blood moons. The servers could add the preset's name next to their name, so players could easily know what options the servers are going and thus can more easily choose the server they want.

Also, you gotta try out Minecraft at its latest version, MM. :smile-new:

I would but my login thing doesn't even seem to work.

EDIT: I don't see much value in changing settings per difficulty type. That just makes a bigger mess. We believe in defaults and beyond that it just gets into various snowflakes.
