@Joe: THANKS! I can confirm after resetting
default controller settings the gyro, motion detectors and spotlights all work as intended. I also think that resolved the steam onscreen keyboard issue we were seeing, but I'd need to reopen that more times to really confirm that.
Sadly (and possibly still not changed) push toggle to run on vehicles has still not been changed. I recall Fataal saying that it made sense, but no one ever implemented it. I think also adding side banking when turning would also improve the gyro flight controls. I think on kb there are separate keys for side to side bank, and the fewer control keys for flight the better, and it'll be more realistic looking as well. (Maybe the side bank can easily be added in the xml?)
BTW, controller use with the gyros is VERY smooth and works perfectly now. The key is not over controlling with them. Try it again, but just tap a few times to adjust forward bank, instead of long pressing... it takes a second or two for the change to gradually adjust visually. (as it should)
I'm used manux's pedal gyro (only difference is it unlocks with the motorcycle and uses stamina for power instead of a gas engine) and landed perfectly on the top of our 8x8 horde base shark cage, and on top of the 16x16 firestation roof.
Now I need to paint a big heliport "H" on it.
That springs an idea to mind... can paintable images or decals be scaled? Seeing a big Trader Joel's billboard, or a circle for heliports would be nice.
